  1. I let Jacob, Chris and Tor talk and dragged Evan over to the next bench. I wanted a quick word with him. “I think we shouldn’t tease Kristin about Tor.” “Why not?” I could almost see all the mischief Evan was planning in his eyes and face. “What if they have a chance of falling in love? We might ruin it by teasing, because Kristin will get all defensive and cold. You know she will,” I pleaded. “You’re sweet, Russ, but just because you fell in love with a blond Viking, it does
  2. I can recall starting on Trials and Tribulations and liking the story from the beginning, but somehow I cannot recall finishing it. Now I know what to read over the weekend.
  3. Thanks, LL, good of you to confirm this matter, I did wonder whether I was the only one to know of these cases of new-spouse-before-kids. I don't think he's controlling or abusive in any way, in fact Peter says he treats his wife well. It's more her being a wet noodle and wanting to please to keep her new relationship safe. You're absolutely right about the guys needing to be honest and communicate, but there are so many things to talk about, it's hard to find time for it all (I have a long list, lol). Team Michael rules
  4. Thanks, Def, you're absolutely right about them coming closer together with everything they share. Peter may have been reluctant at first, but with Patrick spilling the beans about his family, his fiancé knew he would be hard to shock. I have the feeling Peter's mother sees it as a good choice now her son has deserted her for a new sinful life in London. But never mind, Moster is the best. glad you liked the intimate fun
  5. Desperately tries to suppress inner editor don't do it, don't... Arrrrgghhhhh you had a haunch sorry
  6. Hey, Def, I didn't know we had you to thank for bringing Dayne to GA. much appreciated. As for Wolf like me all I can say is: Wolf! Kitten! Iceman! Rabid terrier!
  7. Mutual Admiration Society But joke aside, this covered the attraction and admiration between these two guys perfectly. Tobyn was intrigued by Kellar's explanation of his healing ability (as were we), and his hopes for his pack rose. At the same time his apprehension about his own feelings towards the handsome shifter also increased, yet he was honest about how awesome he thinks Kellar is. We only caught glimpses of Kellar's emotions, but his reaction showed his appreciation of being considered a friend, his commitment to 'going home' with Tobyn (an intense moment even though subtle in the telling), and his delight in being told how Tobyn experienced the healing and that his halting explanations made sense. Kellar has no problem with his priorities, but Tobyn has a harder time. As several readers have said, Tobyn feels responsible for his pack's well-being, which includes helping to sire off-spring. He forgets there's such a thing as artificial insemination. But we can admire him for putting duty and loyalty ahead of his own wishes, so it's unfair to say he has his priorities wrong. Of course we already see the beginnings of a pattern of love, although that may be wishful thinking. There was a small hint of Kellar seeing a pattern of color in Tobyn which gave him pause, maybe because it was unusual - indications of an Earth mate aura, perhaps? No matter, the friendship and trust are coming along beautifully, and we will await which other patterns you'll weave into this wonderful shifter tale.
  8. Awesome, I'll have to go through them all later. If you know the years the ads featured, could you add it to your posts? great idea with this topic, W_L
  9. Lars von Trier made this commercial back in 1993 and it created quite a bit of furore. The two guys were a couple in real life too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-f_v7Gs3y9M don't read the spoiler until after you have seen the ad.
  10. Alex may be an interfering busybody but I loved seeing her chastise David's dad for not making sure his son saw a counselor. Sam told her about David's breakdown to ensure exactly this outcome, including nagging David about getting help.
  11. That was spot on, dugh, you're good at expressing the essence in a few succinct words.
  12. Thanks, Tim. I knew you'd agree with Peter's tactics of doing his best to ignore the matter. Creating a new life in London with Patrick should do the trick.
  13. Hi Tony, I'm glad you felt the chapter gave a deeper understanding of both men. That means I've accomplished the mision for this chapter. Thanks for beeing cool about the new schedule of biweekly postings rather than every week. I hope I can stick to it.
  14. I hadn't thought about it like that, Gary, I swear. Yeah, Peter's mother is missing out, but some people are like that, giving their partners priority over their kids. Luckily, Peter has Moster Grethe to compensate. I think he actually misses his dad more than his mom. I'm to have the approval of the master of hot sex scenes Yeah, Peter would have enjoyed it no matter what, not only is he in love but also coming out of a rather long dry spell - but nothing compared to Patrick I guess. I'm glad you liked the chapter.
  15. LOL, by all means set up a Team Michael. I'm sure you'll have lots of members. I promise he will feature in the next chapter. Thanks for the nice words about adding ackground. It's something I like to do, and with two people meeting and learning about each other, it's quite natural I think. But it can feel contrived at times, so I'm glad it worked here. Good luck on the Danish podcasts
  16. Thanks, CG, I knew Peter would have your sympathy. Step-parents can be great or awful just like biological parents. If Peter's dad hadn't been a nice guy, the contrast to his mother's new husband would not have hit so hard. Thanks for sharing your memories, Alzheimer's is a terrible way to lose a parent, but it was touching how he remembered love. I'm glad you liked the open door policy, I thought it was a natural step for them as parents. And of curse it's important for Michael to not feel excluded. A schedule of posting can be a pressure, but at least it's less when it's twice a month and not weekly. Hungry bird cheeping is always welcome.
  17. Lol, I'm glad I made you laugh, Drew, I thought the story was funny myself, so it's great to have my readers agree. Showing not telling, good one No, the eaves-dropping couple was not significant in any other way. Just a fun detail. I hadn't thought about it before you mentioned the friend aspect here, but you're absolutely right. I guess my friends are important to me and that's why I want my characters to have them too. And of course the dynamic between friends are different to that of lovers or family.
  18. Jakob and Ernst are wonderful together. I liked to hear about their meeting, and I laughed at the holo porn star story. The 'thal triads continue to intrigue me. If they get permission to mix the male genes, other couple may demand the same. On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with taking turns to father a child. Of course I like the twin idea too, but this is less optimal for the female, due to greater risks of complications.
  19. The four men walked together from the restaurant to Holborn station to catch the Underground. Patrick did invite the other couple home for coffee, but they excused themselves, since they had a long drive north the next morning for Anthony’s mother’s birthday brunch. Patrick and John made tentative plans to meet up the following weekend, but this would depend on Michael’s condition and whether Fiona had replied to the email the cardmaker planned to write Sunday morning. This time Patrick was pre
  20. Well, that was not what I expected from either of them. Ryan has some apologizing to do after this. But Clayton was being overly cautious too. I can't understand why money is such a big issue.
  21. Quite an eventful week, and you did well on taking over the duty from Renee. You even remembered to remove the Summer Anthology deadline to show it's passed. I hope more people managed to contribute, the Wicked Games theme was a good one.

    Worthy

I recall feeling angry and upset when first reading this, so maybe that's why I didn't leave a review. But reading again, I cannot help wondering why his flight failed. Was it punishment (from the gods) for Sudal for those rebellious thoughts and acts? Or was it rather punishment for his father and the clan for forcing the verl to conform to stifling tradition rather than let him find his own path to the gods? So, when do we get the next installment? With the Summer Anthology?
  23. Aaww buddy, thanks for letting us savor those beautiful parts of your coming story. These 'scraps' certainly make an impact when seen together. I guess Wini's little holiday was a lot more emotional than she could foresee, but also gave her new knowledge and determination.

    Chapter 20

I so enjoyed all the -ing and -ing and -ing. In Danish we have an expression 'at sanke glødende kul på hans hoved' literally meaning to collect glowing embers on his head, but figuratively expressing the anguish and humiliation when someone shows you have been misjudging and completely in the wrong. Kye doesn't quite realize, but this is exactly what he has been doing and will probably continue to do for a while yet. The arrival of the Count was timed perfectly, I loved every moment. I look forward to the moment Kye realizes he's sleeping in Lord Ash's bed. As for what he can spend his time doing, I think Reth will occupy plenty of it, but there is also reading and eating and resting, and going for small walks in the garden. More long term I think Kye would enjoy trending the garden and maybe produce herbs for cooking. He might also train as Lord Ash's valet.
