    In The Limelight

I fear Andy may be right about the possible local media interest in Eric as gay. Especially if there are no other 'human interest' stories. This might cause some problems with the school boy thugs, who'll soon have a long boring summer to make mischief. But a benefit might be his ex-coworker Rob seeking him out. I'm glad the boys had a good time at the Pride. I've been following the news about the No Outsiders' teaching program. Utterly disgusting how those schools have been sold out by the Education Department and exposed to bigotry from parents and outside enablers. They should be ashamed of themselves - and again it's religious bigots who drive the hate against the LGBTQ youths.
  2. We haven't heard anything about Loz for a while, but I guess you need to sort out Daniel and his grandparents first.
  3. LOL, it's fun to see you swathed in purple.
  4. I'm sorry I missed this comment until now. You're right about it not being a prerequisite to know your partner's job. But I think Theo was upset about the reason why Sablo took no interest and didn't even know the basic rules.
  5. Fun, but not as special as 1111 It's OK, as long as I don't miss page 111 Yeah, this new one with notifications being bold again has happened to me also in the last few days. Post text lingering is still unsolved - and I don't know how to clear my cache or even why it would be needed when I'm using an Incognito browser.
  6. Tillykke fra Danmark I'm so happy for yoiu.

    Pride of Place

I think he should hope for it to be inclusive both age-wise and class-wise. Seeing a few working-class, 50+, ordinary guys would be great for Eric's sense of fitting in.

    Lacking Means

I liked how Eric was even able to do a pretend grump to tease Andy. And just the fact that's he's able to tell Andy he's aware of his mood is helpful too.

    Wiped Out

I'm delighted Eric felt his trip was successful and that he got plants for his garden. I hope he can get them planted without the nosy neighbor butting in. He's a man of habits and though he may want to change, it's interesting how he acquires new and useful habits, such as making scrambled eggs and checking out gay news. Andy and Adam certainly had fun. They have a wonderful relationship and I like it that they spice their sex life once in a while, to keep it interesting and varied. Fingers crossed for the serious talk about Adam's mum.

    Adventure

Me too - and now we can even transfer money to friends and colleagues via mobile phones (when sharing costs for something), and buy food and drinks from small vendors. So much easier and safer than carrying cash around. I'm sure there are more interesting bank jobs than being a teller helping people to get money from their accounts. I think all of us who are able to use online features should do it, so there is more time to help people who can't, or who need banking advice about loans or debts.

    Michael

Ohhh, a social worker with sense and empathy ! That's awesome, and the suggestion of a two week trial is very clever. I hope Daniel can stick it out without too much mental damage, and that he convinces the grandparents they're better off without him.
  12. Maybe it's like the Douglas Adams story ? I think it's one of the sequels to Hitchhiker's Guide, where a sofa gets stuck half-way up the stairs and only got that far due to a door appearing in one of the walls at the right moment. Wasn't the rip caused by delivery ? Of course, if the rip was there already, or the store delivered themselves, then they need to compensate or redeliver. Just ask the manager what would cost him more. I'll have to keep an eye out for the moment - although I usually only take screen dumps when my stats hit a fun number.
  13. This is why I avoid reading poetry - it makes me cry. I think of myself as a tolerant person who tries to see the best in everyone. But I really HATE religious and other narrow-minded bigots who through the years have caused so much pain to the LGBTQ community. Reading about your experience and the comments from others makes my guts clench, my heart ache, and my eyes tear up, and I feel so helpless, when I think about how this evil, unfair situation is perpetuated in so many places around the world. How can any country consider itself civilized or fair, when they cannot accept what's natural and as old as mankind?
  14. I think Tom was trying to hint at this when he visited, but Robbie was dating Nathan then, and he wasn't prepared to acknowledge this. Also, it would have made him feel even sadder about being sent to Canada.
  15. I'm delighted that Robbie is opening up to Jo, and that seeing her is making him feel better. I hope he does tell Don what Jo said about Symmonds. (I'll have to go back and check the exact wording.) At least Nathan made an effort, and I guess he does care a bit about Robbie.
  16. Thank you, Rick. I think that's the greatest praise a fanfic writer can get. I'm so glad you enjoyed enough to leave a comment.
  17. I can remember reading Sky's the Limit shortly after joining GA, at a time when I rarely left likes or comment. It was good to revisit this great story. I'd love to read the sequel mentioned in the last chapter.

    Chapter 9

I'm glad he told his sister and Lori. It's important to have allies.

    Chapter 5

I'm glad those two bigots got what they deserved.
  20. I'm surprised a local scavenger hasn't disposed of it already. But if you wait long enough, maggots will do the trick. (runs away and hides from Val's flame thrower)

    #765 The Mackerel

LOL, of course - I forgot about that.
  22. I think I wanted to come back and make a comment after I thought it over and I just forgot. I'll get there eventually.

    #765 The Mackerel

Why ? I like to eat rugbrød med makrel i tomat og mayonaise (mackerel filet in a tomato sauce on rye bread with mayo), but otherwise the only association to Makrellen is a Danish BS biker who got killed by a Hells Angel biker. I'm guessing the fish statue lets you turn into a merman, so if Jer picks it up from the sand he may be able to follow Gil. But would he want to ? Especially if they can't turn back to make love, since fish sex is pretty boring.
  24. Cool numbers. But I didn't get the Slurpee comment. But at least you could work it out. Ahh, now I get it. We have 7-11 here, but I don't think they have 'Slurpees' - at least not by that name. And in Europe they'd have to give them away on November 7th, and who wants to drink / eat ice in the winter.
  25. Two of my series are OK, but these are wrong: Fire Prompts 94 comments, but should be 120. Viking Valentine 1677 comments but should be 1707 - or 1624, if I exclude the two stories where Aditus is the primary author. Windows and Google Chrome on laptop. None of the stories have had any new comments since July 2nd.
