  1. Sorry about the end chapter note, I know it was rather naughty of me. I do hope to return to Frankie and find out where he goes next, maybe from Keyno's POV. Thank you for reading my old story and leaving a comment.

I'm so glad Simon finally told his mothers what is going on. And yes that's mothers in plural. Niki is a wonderful bonus mother for Simon, and I bet she can find a gay lawyer who would be delighted to help them for free. Simon's mum may be reluctant to take up the fight, but when she does call her ex-husband, she's at least firm about him not seeing Simon anymore, and not just the day after. Edit: Sorry, spelled Niki's name wrong
  3. Your story reminds me how lucky I am to have been born into a caring, close-knit family, even if I sometimes grumble about them. It gives us a huge advantage, but then it's even more impressive when people like Cal overcomes the family troubles to become someone likeable and caring. But I guess his grandparents made up for the lack of parental acceptance. The tale of Eskil was an example of the selfless love and utmost respect for a family member, to accept his need to be done with a life which had much pain and little hope. The loyalty of Dirck to be with his brother as he went into his final sleep - and perhaps helping him the last step to Charon's ferry ? Så smukt og hjertegribende, min ven.
  4. LOL, @wildone you remind me of the famous Mark Twain quote, having to quell rumors of him being gone.
  5. Sigh, I know how you feel. I have several recent first-liners on my list too.
  6. In spite of the pain and regret, the determination we can see in every line of the story is very satisfying. I'm glad he finally valued himself enough to break up with the serial cheater and stand firm against attempts to persuade him otherwise. Also good to know he has supportive friends, who should rejoice in his newfound freedom, yet hug him often to lessen the heartbreak.
  7. Yeah, I have time right now.
  8. YAY, she got the number of legs right. With all the horrible fires in Australia right now, I probably shouldn't include this recent SATW, but I love one of the top comments.
  9. That's easy. Until 2012 the number of prompts given on a specific day was not always two. It could be anything from 1 to 4. Comicfan took over consistently from prompt 102 and 103 in January 2012. I think after that, it was always two prompts per week, which brings us to 800 and 801 almost eight years later. Btw we have no prompt 7 and two prompt 102, but that cancels each other out.
  10. That's just what I was thinking. When he gets to Prompt no 888, we'll have to throw a party.

For a moment I was worried 'The Prince* was the same jerk as Simon's ex, but at least Freddie knew how to deal with him. A make-over and various gay outings sounds just perfect as a counterweight to the bigot father. Simon may not dare to block him on the phone or tell him what he really thinks of him, the grandmother and all their religious hater friends, but I hope he'll refuse to visit his father and tell his mother and Nicky about the 'threat' to send him to conversion therapy.

    Prologue

You definitely need to read Kissing the Dragon first, even though you've already happened on a spoiler or two by starting on this story. See also the story note.
  13. As Dodger and I found out: don't read this around lunch time or dinner time.
  14. Yikes, that was gory. But I liked that Tobe is quick thinking and has his priorities right. Better the stranger who saved him, than the father who abused him. I'd love to see how he manages to get on with the vampire.
  15. At least it will be less embarrassing for Robbie if there's rumors in school about him killing Alex than being sexually assaulted by him. I won't mind if he gets together with Nathan again, because it will annoy Don immensely.
  16. The very few edits are in your mailbox, Batman. Hugs, Robin.

    Wednesday

It's good for Simon to have support on his opinion about his dad's behavior. At least he can simply stop reading the messages, when they're from his dad. Or text 'Leave me alone, you hateful bigot !' at random intervals...

    Zugrexamok

Now I may have nightmares. I should know better than to read these horror stories. Jerry should have listened to his brother, who knew evil when he saw it.

    Forever Together

But what about Stephen's girlfriend ? Or family members of the three people ? Surely they would miss them and ask questions. But I can see why the disappearances may not have been connected by anyone, with so many years between the first two and Adrigal having only just been killed. The professor was getting crazier and more careless, since he didn't even wait to find out whether Dwight wanted to stop working for him, and also did the murder attempt during the party. It certainly was a story to send chills down our spines.

    Tuesday

It's nice to see Simon blossom and open up in the company of nice people. And while he may not have the courage to stand up to bigots, at least he stays with his friends and doesn't cringe at the idea of being associated with 'the queer group'. The first step towards being out and proud at college.

    Forever Together

Yikes that was a close call. The police must be really embarrassed at not connecting the missing people with their jobs at the professor's office.
  22. Freddie seems just the right person to help Simon navigate in the gay community and answer all his questions. Maybe Jeff is a potential boyfriend, but if not at least he's also a new friend.
  23. Well done @Carlos Hazday & Co who guessed correctly.
  24. I'll have to take a deep breath and read the story at the end of the month. In broad daylight and hoping to avoid nightmares. Great review @spikey582
