Currently live between Aberystwyth in Wales, and Cheshire in England... both small towns in the countryside Id either live here/surrounding areas, same small town living near the country because im an 'old country' kid at heart... or id go wildly different and emigrate somewhere like Canada or the USA... no real specific area desires, long as it wasnt too hot and i had land to collect horses/dogs. Honestly id go in a heartbeat, as long as somebody was looking after the pony for me (if he couldnt come too!)

Happy Birthday Nostic :D

this song turns my stomach not because of the quality of the music, but because psychologically i remember the large quantities of alcohol i consumed in clubs whilst listening to this and its various remixes, and i now cant cope first world problems!

Is there a song that brings you to tears?
Never Surrender replied to JamesSavik's topic in The Lounge
I have an entire playlist of these, just for 'those days' when i need to have a darn good cry is that even normal?! anyway, ive picked a selection Sam Smith's cover of Whitney Houston's 'How Will I Know' --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-z43aophD4 BYU Vocal Point's version of 'Danny Boy' --> John Mayer's 'Slow Dancing in a Burning Room' --> Trading Yesterday's 'Shattered' --> RED's song 'Pieces' --> Sum 41's 'With Me' --> Sarah McLachlan's 'In the Arms of an Angel' --> the last two mean lots to me, but they are sung in welsh (or contain parts of welsh) so may not have quite the same effect on people with no grasp of that language Bronwen Lewis Fields' cover of 'Fields of Gold' (her voice is incredible - she sings half in welsh, half in english) --> Only Boys Aloud's version of 'Calon Lân', which is a beautiful song in both languages <3 --> ok i got a bit carried away, so ill stop now -
i dont think anybody has said that being gay, or bi, is a disease and i dont see that society has made me want to define myself. im talking about myself as a person - i like to know things about myself. i know that im scared of the dark, i know that my little toe on my right foot cracks, i know that my resting heart rate is around 60 beats per minute, and that im better at maths than i am at english. There are all things that are completely useless information to people around me, but i like to know about myself. i see my sexuality and sexual preferences as the same -- ive never felt pressured to define myself, i actually subscribe to the theory that nobody is 100% straight or gay. That said, i want to define myself so that I know for myself, because i like to be so in control of myself and my body that i can predict my reactions at any given time. i think i need therapy
-
actually i disagree with this - ive been brought up in a supportive family, in a supportive country, i have no qualms or concerns about the fact that i identify as bisexual on a societal level that said, inside my head is an absolute nightmare. i see myself as bisexual leaning male, i prefer men, i like manparts i see myself as a straight girl that likes gay porn and looks at girls. that said, the daily hell i go through trying to figure myself out just isnt worth it. every day its the same thing - 'omg i looked at that girls ass, or i liked her legs, etc.... does that mean im a lesbian? what if i am a lesbian? maybe im just in denial? am i repressing part of myself?... no i cant be, i do prefer men... but what if i only prefer men because i have done more with them sexually? i look at girls more than i look at men that i see in real life, what if im actually bi leaning female? how do i even know what i am? how do i define what i am? if i am a lesbian, or i do prefer girls, how will i even know?'. now i understand that yes, this makes me 110% control freak. but i spend so much time giving myself grey hairs by trying to define myself and work out what i feel, that its not even funny any more - the effect this has had on my mental health is staggering. im one of the most liberal people you can meet - i dont care who/what youre sleeping with or loving, long as they are above the age of consent, its all consensual and i dont have to watch it. that said, and this will be an unpopular opinion so im gonna put my tin hat (and body armour) on for it, if this became a 'thing' then i for one would certainly think about it.

long distance relationships in college
Never Surrender replied to derricklee192's topic in The Lounge
oh god, college relationships i think it depends a LOT on the kind of person you are. the majority of pre-college relationships that people in my friendship groups were in, failed within the first year... and boy did they crash and burn the main relationships that succeeded were ones that were established before college for a long time. i dont think JC will mind me saying that he doesnt strike me as a typical party boy. Although this is whoppingly stereotypical, the people who broke their LDR most often cheated on their partner, and the cheating was most often 'helped along the way' by copious amounts of alcohol or drugs. Im not saying that you cant sustain a functional relationship and be a party animal? but it depends a lot on the kind of person you are, and what you hold important. People change a lot when they go to university - im not the same person i was when i entered, im not the same person i was last year. when you're at college, you will be constantly evolving. Trust me, its hard enough to hold down a short distance relationship, without adding so many hundreds or thousands of miles between you. university is a time of self expression, experimentation and self development. In the words of one of my good friends who was apparently quoting me when i was drunk.... 'this is probably the best looking youll ever be in your life - dont piss away your beauty years in an unhappy relationship because once youve left it, youll be old and emotionally scarred and all the fit ones will be gone and taken' -
I'm British born and bred but even I haven't heard of half of them that said, there are ones that I know as very common that aren't on that list. Isn't English an awesome language?

Said it before but I'll say it again.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERIC!!! Hope turning 40 is good for you hahaha

I have, repetitively (as Mann can confirm for me, since he normally picks up the pieces - sorry about that ) It didnt change much... it was a car crash the first time we broke up, and the second, the third, the fourth... You get the impression. Eventually it got to the point that the Encyclopedia Britannica was being used as a projectile, and we realised we brought out the worst in each other. It ended and we havent been in contact since, except for the occasional bumping into each other if he is here to see friends. I did, however, get punched by his NEW girlfriend who accused me of still seeing him behind her back. Impressive, not only because he lives in Spain now and im in Wales, but also because the sight of the guy is the biggest turn off you can imagine. So no - learn from my mistakes, and dont touch with a 50ft barge pole.
