    Beatings and Wine

I love that Bay took the initiative and physically "escorted" the camp twerps out. And I'm another vote for Zu and wine not having a taste - at least not a taste I enjoy. A nice Belgian wheat ale ,,, much better! Another winner love!
  2. Allergy relieve eye drops dear. They help!
  3. Perhaps you should be a tad more interested. Thank God the ex boyfriend from hell I had to deal with pre-stalker laws didn't have these sorts of apps available. It was hard enough to get rid of the ass!
  4. The real shame of it is that stereotypes are pretty much ALL invalid. A person's sexual orientation should be about as important to how well they can play football or any other sport as the color of their skin is. Like James i grew up in the 70's when attitudes had not come out of the dark ages yet. I can easily see where he was more or less forced into being a "right bastard" as he put it. I grew up one of three girls on a block of about 20 boys. I played ball with the guys daily and got good at it. I constantly got asked by people from further afield "are you sure you are not a dyke - you act like one". Guess what i am trying to say is the best reaction to the idiots that make your sexuality an issue is no reaction at all. Live your life the way you want, don't let a bunch of bigots drive you off and to hell with anyone tells you that you don't belong somewhere!
  5. And just what is a provisional marriage? Is this a trial period? You make it to your 5th anniversary and it becomes a permanent marriage?
  6. Maybe its a product of a northern metropolitan area, but for a long time race seemed to stop being an issue at all. But then, gay couples haven't really raised too much issue either. Or perhaps that is more a perception of mine. I grew up in the 60's and 70's where race was a real issue in the schools around here. "Black" and "White" hallways that most would go 3/4 of the way around the school to avoid going down the "wrong hall". But race seems to come back as an issue every so often, most notably when there are issues like the Rodney King or the George Zimmerman trial. I think that all references to race should be forbidden during a trial like these and the jurors be blindfolded. The bottom line should have been if a neighborhood watch member shot a suspected trouble maker and why, not the color of the skin on either side of the issue. I see the ACLU making a big fuss in a situation like this. Black people and Hispanics mostly it seems. Has the ACLU ever stood up for other races? Native Americans, White and Asians have civil rights too ya know!

    Cronuts

Bad yes - but aren't the best tastes always bad for you ? I am sooooooooooooo tired of rabbit food!
  9. Water - isn't that the stuff they mix with the wheat before brewing the ale? and ferment the corn mash in before distilling the Jack?
  10. Wooo hooo do i need a new dress to watch the cam cast?
  11. lol Its way easier than that - you tag the nook to the computer thru a usb port and save it there like an external drive. You can bet i will be doing that before our next long drive! And i am now half way through my first Dom Luka story. Everyone has been right so far. I wouldn't call him my favorite but he ranks in the top 5 - right behind Mark and Tucker, and Mann. Now - all I need is more time to read and my new glasses!

    Family Time

Wooo Hooo! I love the way Zander breaks up a fight! I expected a little more hurt feelings on Zol's side but I can so totally see them rolling on the kitchen floor! Excellent.
  14. Poor Daithi, you aren't giving her enough string to make a tangled mess! Now this is a much better set of people! Can't wait till Zol finally corners and makes Zu spill. Having his twin not share has to be eating at Zol! Lovely my dear - simply lovely
  15. Ummm - does that "cake" get served with the number of the local taxi service on the side?
  16. Again- I need more likes per day! Thanks Treb. I like to read in the car on long trips since my hubby's idea of conversation sounds like a conversation with Tim Allen at times. With the Nook that's great if i can tag a wifi when I need to load another chapter. Can't wait to try loading the story the way you suggested. Hope it works with the nook too!

    Temper Temper

Actually I was impressed with how well Zu managed to control himself and keep the violence down to a minimum. I think I would have totally lost it, even if I was just a bystander in the club! People, in addition to being horribly bigoted about some of the stupidest things, can be incredibly stupid on top of it all. Given a choice I am quite sure Zu, and any one else in the world, would prefer not to be in a chair faced with the immense challenges they are every single day just to live their lives and get around. Life isn't always fair, the least we can do as human beings is to try to be. Too bad so many don't even make the attempt! Zander I think is in for some interesting conversations in the next little bit of his life. With his so called friends and acquaintances at the club, with Bay and Issac, and most importantly with Zu! Can't wait to see the results!
  18. Oh I listened, just couldn't find it buried in the depths somewhere. Let's keep it going and up in the front of the forums!
  19. Ok - where has this thread been hiding since I joined the sight last April? I shared this recipe with Sasha a few weeks back. I know you Brits will be appalled at the amount of butter used so feel free to play with it. Sasha has started already. I don't remember where I got this recipe from so I can't give proper credits, best I can do is say it isn't my own. I have however experimented and have not yet found a fruit it doesn't work well with. I reduce the sugar in the fruit cooking drastically, but cutting the sugar in the batter section was disastrous Super easy Fruit Cobbler For the fruit: 4 cups of fresh fruit prepared appropriately. That means peal and cut to fairly large pieces for some, wash and stem for others etc 1 cup granulated sugar I reduce this with some fruits to about 1/4 cup - depends on how sweet you want things. For the batter: 1 c all purpose flour 1 c sugar 3 tsp baking powder 1 tsp salt 1 c milk you also need 1 stick ( 1/4 pound) of butter I told you that you Brits would be appalled Pre heat oven to 350*F ( 177*C) during the preheat place the butter in a 9x13 baking dish in the oven allowing it to melt and brown slightly While things are heating: Combine all dry ingredients for the batter and set aside bring fruit and sugar to a boil forming a simple syrup Add milk to the batter and whisk till just combined - don't over do Pour batter over the melted butter Pour fruit over batter DO NOT STIR! Bake till golden brown approximately 25 to 30 minutes, and not too wiggly. About like a stiff Jello wiggle is good ( Thanks for the imagery Sasha!) When in a particular hurry I have used canned peaches, fruit salad, and canned pie fillings in this. Just make sure they are in syrup and not plane juice as the whole thing comes out runny with the juice packed fruits. Do toss it into a microwave safe dish and warm it first tho or it really affects the cooking time. Hubby wanted me to add: Is great served warm from the oven with your favorite ice cream on top!

    Chapter 10

Only three more chapters???? I certainly hope at the end of the third when you wind up the story you leave possibilities for a visit to the villa of Marcus Quintillus Braxus in the future.
  22. Oh it makes sense ! If you text even a huge three ringer, you tend to stay on topic. I get on the phone with a friend and once business is taken care of the conversation digresses. I can end up on the phone for an hour easily! Thank god for blue tooth! I fold more laundry using one than i'll ever drive with it!
  23. Not just the world of internet fiction. Granted his stories took on a life of their own and got a tad out of control, but look at best seller author Robert Jordan. He was up to around 14 books in his "Wheel of Time" series with so many loose strings he would not have been able to tie them up, he would have needed to weave a blanket, when he passed away.
  24. And just how much can we read at one time? With the number of fantastic authors here and the amount of currently being posted great fiction that is tossed at us on a daily basis on the list to the left at sign in, you have to give us newbies a chance! We keep up with what our favorites are writing, catch new things in between from the latest updates list, and then, if time and our already overworked eyes allow, we start on the long long list of the other great authors around here. Some of us even get caught up in the mystique and start writing ourselves, or as in cases like mine, begin editing to help support an author. God knows I am insecure enough about posting prompt responses, you people who put your thoughts and emotions to paper deserve all the love and support you can get!
