  1. Now that my temper has cooled doing ok. I have one more haul on the schedule for tomorrow am, then have all weekend off, barring emergencies of course. Usually I would make plans for a trip somewhere, but this year... Think I need a new rock to hide under. Too many know where this one is!
  2. Warning...rant ahead. You all know that we had to put my older horse down 3 weeks back after more than a month of meds several times a day, lots of stress and high emotion. After, my daughter decided I did not do enough to try and save him and did not speak to me for 2 weeks, refused to return phone calls and ignored texts. Her "best friend" sent me several texts saying I should leave her alone, what did I expect after killing her horse and making her watch. Christmas eve was the first time she spoke to me civilly. Ok, so things are finally getting slowly back on track. I can look at his pic without breaking into tears, and as long as we stay away from talking about feelings I can even talk about him with a minimum of choke up. I just got a phone call that made me #@*!ing angry. One of the women who was instrumental in the situation that lead to my resignation as barn management wants to know what Bo died from, cause he gave it to her horse who is now very sick. Let's see... 1) Bo has not been near her horse since August when I changed his field to share with my other horse 2) Vets best guess based on treatments we tried, symptom progression, etc, was some form of cancer. No way to be sure without a necropsy, very expensive and basically useless. 3) Bo has been gone for more than 3 weeks. 4) If he were contagious, why is his field mate Jack still hale and healthy? 5) Might it be from contact with the new horse they just put in the field with hers after the bare minimum of quarantine? And finally, HOW DARE SHE SAY MY HORSE MADE HERS SICK? I am just coming back online after my daughter laying a guilt trip on me. How #@*!ing dare she blame me for her horse??? Ok, rant over. Thank you for this fantastic family I can rant at in moments like these.
  3. Morning all. Sitting in a nice warm truck at the Boxing Day Hunt (yes I know yesterday was Boxing Day, but I don't do the scheduling.) I think the horse is a bit perturbed with having been rousted from her nice warm stall and stuffed her in a trailer at 25*f this am. That's -4* for you Celsius peeps.
  4. <Peeks out from under my rock> Hope you all had a happy regardless of what you celebrate. Happy belated birthday tim.
  5. I am still looking for a set of router bits I bought for my brother back in 1988. He dropped in as mom and I were sorting packages, I stashed his gifts including the bits behind the sofa. 32 years later...
  6. And is fairly painless.
  7. Don't forget, car must be moving fast enough to make the ears flap in the breeze
  8. Also easier said. Fortunately, this I have more control over.
  9. I think it is hardwired into husband's to go poof in stores. One minute you are right there, turn around for one second and...
  10. You know where my pm is. Here if you need me.
  11. Sleepy Time tea from Celestial Seasonings has no caffeine. Is Camomile and mint I think, both of which promote calm and relaxation, as does the hot drink itself. I am sure other brands have similar compositions.
  12. Me too, but how does Keith screw Shiro silly here and still be an virgin down the road?
  13. We do put a hurt on the wine cellar occasionally.
  14. Yes, now a days, and until we all start calling people on their rude behavior it will continue to spiral down. I taught my daughter better, as my mother taught me. I am sure you taught your boys better. Why were these "adults" NOT taught?
  15. Hit send too soon. Enjoy the improved water pressure.
  16. Problem with that is I am the local horse ambulance, and they frequently choose 3 am to colic and need emergency transport to the nearest equine clinic. Those calls dont bother me at all. 6 am for routine moving can wait till regular hours. You would not call your dentist at 6 am to schedule a cleaning. I deserve the same curtesy.
  17. Has been one foot in front of the other for 2 weeks now. Slow going for sure, but still moving. Just wish peeps would stop would stop tossing things out for me to trip over.
  18. Thank you! Gets better! Still 1/2 hr before sun up here and a second customer rings, irritated I have not yet answered her text I found at 11:30 last night. Yes I get up early. That usually means I hit the hay early too. Found her text on what for me is a "midnight" potty run. She actually sent it at 11 but apparently I slept thru the ring cycle. I was always taught calls between 8 pm and 8 am were reserved for lovesick teens and emergencies only. Moving your horse next week does not qualify for either!
  19. Why??? Biggest storm NJ has seen in 4 years. Governor urging peeps to stay off the roads. Hubby's place of employment closed due to the snow, but he drives an hour so would have stayed home anyway. Good day to sleep in, right? Nope. 6 am and a customer starts texting to arrange a pick up for daughters new horse. Then she gets chatty besides. So here I am, wide awake more than an hour before sunrise! Yes, I keep farmers hours. No, I no longer function as barn manager, and no longer need to be on the farm for am feedings. Why in the world would I want to visit at this hour??? Rant over. I now return you to your regularly scheduled morning routine.
  20. Hon, that ain't doing for yourself. You do know the definition of stress right? Its the confusion created when the mind over rides the body's basic desire to strangle the shit out of some asshole that desperately needs it.
  21. Have you done something for yourself today @kbois? Gotta refuel if you are going to be able to give.
  22. I didn't know I used to work with your hubby! Iou What K said. Also, remember to get enough rest and do something for yourself every day. Illigetmi non carborundum.
  23. Soon?
