Wings has that exact dish for her pup. Not only does the dog pick it up, but dumps it carefully into one pile, then scarfs as usual. She ended up using a 2 litre bottle filled with sand that she glued into that center section to weigh it down. I told her the dang rock would have been easier!

Slow her down by using one of those special dishes, or like us horse peeps do, put a large rock in her dish. Gotta be large enough she can't possibly swallow it, and has to work to get the kibble.

Unfortunately some writers do not want to improve. They post with no outside editorial help at all. They apparently do not realize a writer can, and do, read over th same mistake over and over without catching it, because (s)he get caught in content rather than grammar or spelling. Worse is the author who argues why something is grammatically incorrect. Granted dialogue should remain in character, and a 10 year old should not sound like an ivy league scholar, but the rest of the story should play by the basic rules, and an author who would rather argue than fix it is wasting the editors time.

The only problem I see with the story being longer than originally planned is that it takes longer to get to us. A story is as long as a story needs to be. Cut it off too soon and the characters will never let you hear the end of it.

Particularly when others are less than kind to us. The odd thing is that technically the new barn hand calls me regularly with "I need this" or "that broke" which strictly speaking puts it on me to correct, but turns out less stressful as I know right away it needs doing. The other two just expect it done but dont bother telling me about it, then when I have not corrected it a week later bitch to the boss. My regular answer is I can't fix what I dont know is broke! -

Seriously though... "Some days i can cope, others less so. I am overly emotional, often sad, without an obvious reason." I have been experiencing similar issues. Have not felt like this since round 3 of chemo therapy. Back then I just blamed it on the uncertainty of the outcome of treatment. I suppose this time it is similar, but the uncertainty is what covid does to us next. My husband however does not understand the bouts of sadness. Sometimes I think I am bordering on depression, something he would not deal with well. I am the rock in the family and if I crumble, what do we build on? Shifting gravel doesn't make a good foundation. -

I have to agree with both Mike and tim. Not much phases me in literature. I pretty much skip right over warning tags. I do see how someone who has been subjected to sexual or domestic violence would want to avoid those scenes and rape scenes, someone who has been shot would want to avoid shootings etc, so warnings could cut down stress and visits to the doc!
