    Chapter 15

Crap! More to follow after the epilogue.

    Story

I loved it! Erotic: yes. Interesting: yes, also. I liked that perameters were set for office and play time expectations, and how well the author blurred those lines—acknowledging that this blurring inherently must exist. Office romance, indeed. Well written. Well done!

    Story

I feel so... so... emotionally manipulated. In this case, well done! Dean's office predicament was prevented from becoming trite by a nice infusion of humor. A sad situation was just sappy enough, not overmuch, and what's more, acceptably believable. Characters were nicely conceived and likable. Again, I say, well done.

    Chapter 1 The Light

I'm glad that this didn't turn out to be a poem, no offense to AC Benus or you, Gary. The story I read was a little special something in this anthology. Your ability to create a scene that stuck in the imagination was enjoyable. Particularly striking was the vine pulsing with life's blood—an umbilical cord leading back to Mother Earth, if you will—the protagonist not yet ready to move on toward the great beyond. Was it God in the light, was He the light? Does it matter? "Thank you for coming. Here's your parting gift." This is the tongue in cheek version of how I viewed the protagonists release from pain. Lastly, what was with all that talk about how deeply David loves? Clearly he has competition.
  7. Cheers, Gary! My heartiest congratulations on your achievement.
  8. Happy birthday, Lisa! Enjoy those pancakes.
  9. I just ordered the Target version with the extra songs on the CD. I'm looking forward to listening to the music. Valkyrie, that youtube video was funny. Thanks for sharing the link.
  10. Nope, make it two... I can't stand it either.
  11. I took Prompt 270 and ran with it back in 2013. It was the first prompt story I wrote. Go ahead and give it a try. Make sure your head is in a good place though, or you could reach into dark recesses with this prompt. Anyway, I'd love to read what somebody else does with it.
  12. I agree with you. It does look great on some guys, down right sexy on others, but tattoos don't work for every guy. Gus Kenworthy looked sexy in that ESPN cover shot, but the tats—not so much on him.
  13. My goodness, you've had a rough period and I don't suppose a swift emotional cure anytime soon, but I wish you and yours all the best. My condolences on your family's loss.

    The Story

You're right, I did leave much unsaid in this story and for good reason. What I did was write what needed to be told; the parts of the story required to make some sense of Max's life. I am thrilled to hear you were moved by the tale. It made my day to know that the story is still being discovered and appreciated. Thank you, Suvitar.
  15. Happy Birthday, Steve. You, Wildone, you.
  16. Drew is certainly on the ball. Happy Birthday, D.Dave.K. I wish you many happy returns.
  17. I'll give a look, Caz. Thanks. It's free on Amazon.com as well as at the .uk link above.
  18. Agh, my nephew is visiting, I have to entertain. Don't worry authors, I'll be sure to start reading your work sometime on Sunday—looking forward to it.

    Chapter 60 (11.5)

And they lived happily ever . . . until the next averted tragedy, folks. I kid, really. Congratulations on the story, JLH.

    Chapter 57 (11.2)

Well, we knew something was coming, if not precisely what. I mean, from what we do know, mommie is a selfish person, and those types are notoriously vengeful—without any right to be that way, though it doesn't stop their wrong-minded behavior.
  21. Let's not forget, there is a real possibility that an author has died. In the world of online authorship, and pen names—avatars that may have no meaning to anyone else—and anonymity, it is nearly impossible to know for sure if an author is still alive out there to continue their work. Without close people who know that you write, or where you write for, who's going to let everyone know that, say, Ron (me for example) the author, has died, folks—there won't be anymore words. It's sad to think of, but it's definitely a possible answer as to why the writing ends.
  22. I liked this movie. I thought the character of Leonardo, believably played by Gilherme Lobo, particularly endearing.
  23. Happy Birthday, Cannd. Many happy returns of the day!
  24. Hey, Lady! Happy Birthday to You!
  25. Happy Birthday, Bill.
