  1. Hey Colin, Happy, Happy Birthday! Have a wizzo day, and may everything you wish for yourself come true ... unless someone offers you a Monkey's paw, in which case say no. Or a condo in the Bahamas for $50. That's probably dubious too. Did I say Happy Birthday?
  2. It's cloudy over here in the UK

    Feeling open ended

There is a saying "Don't panic Mr. Mainwaring!" - though I guess it'd help if you knew Dad's Army. Anyhow, don't panic. Go and chill and paint, or paint and chill. Or ... write! Yep, better idea. A neat Luc short story about friends that cause you to worry. Take care, Camy

    Retirement

I always felt 'safe' seeing the moderator tag under your name. Being a mod must be hard work, and like anything intensive it's best to give it a break if you're getting burnt out ... and change is always good. Anyway, if it means you're going to write more, I'm all for it. 'The Cool Green Sea' is one of my very favourite shorts stories. Camy

    Four days off!

I love Banana bread. :2 thumbs: want...
  6. Nick, you really don't need to confess to taking a break. You have to have a life outside writing. It's as important as the writing is, 'cause if you don't 'live' life, you can't write about it nearly as well... Camy
  7. Blimey, CJ!

    An update

Me too. I guess I'd be ok if they did some decorating, or fed the cats or something useful.
  9. More often than you know, you make my day. Don't ever stop! Camy
  10. Isn't Arecibo where SETI operates?

    NaNoWriMo 'n' things.

Thanks guys, and yes, provided it's not a total pile of poo it will be releases as a finished chapter story early in the new year.
  12. I haven't blogged in ages, which is probably just as well. Much too much I don't want to talk about. However the update to the GA software deserves a mention, even if it's only to thank all those who work behind the scenes. I'm taking part in this years NaNoWriMo, which for those of you who don't know, is writing a 50,000 word 'novel' in a month. I was going to do it in secret, but if I do that I'll probably never finish it. So I'm 'outing' myself and thus have to finish it... see the logic? There are some really great writers taking part like Dio Beckstead, and EleCivil. If you've ever needed a deadline to write to, it's still not too late to join up. You're only three days behind, and that's a doddle! Cheers all, Camy
  13. Hi Myr, I would like to add my appreciation to that voiced by all those above, and probably everyone else who hasn't caught the thread yet. Gay Authors Rocks! Both as a point of social interaction, and for those who just read the stories and never post. What you have created is special, have no doubt. With thanks for letting me play, Camy
  14. Congratulations! It's a great feeling to be able to shut the door, relax, and no parents unless you invite them! Take care, and be good. Camy

    Random Chatter

Hey Nick, Thank you so much for your support! If that sounds trite it's 'cause I'm kinda choked up. You've been a constant voice in the background telling me that I write well, and honestly, that has been more help than I can adequately express, without sounding totally weird. Your writing helps too. I often found it hard to believe you could write the quantity and quality you do and still have a life ... then I found it's really NickolasTaylor Web Publishing that produces it, not you. So umm ... How many writers do you employ? 10? 20? The forums here are incredibly busy compared to a lot of sites, but that doen't mean other places are less worthy. AwesomeDude, though small is great, and has some really awesome authors ... which probably accounts for the name! The lynchpin as far as writing is concerned, is my editor, Kitty. If I didn't have her in my corner, my world would be a sadder place. And I've never actually asked to be hosted, it just happened - probably because AD is so small. It doesn't really matter to me - e-fiction is a cool place to publish, and I have my own site anyway. Best of both worlds! Ultimately I write 'cause I enjoy it, and though it's wonderful people like what I do, I'd probably still do it even if they didn't. Thanks again, and glad you heard the tunes! Sorry I can't comment on your politics. US politics (like all politics) seems wacko to me, and more like a televised carnival or circus than real life. Honestly, who wants clowns deciding if global warming is a real threat? It's all down to ten second sound bites, and who's been sleeping with who. There is no gravitas, and the planet needs some fast. Camy
  16. I think it was via DaBeagle's site, Myr's HP slash, or The Shack. I lurked for a while and then got miffed I couldn't read sneak peaks, so I joined.
  17. How about 'A Goat's Tale' I can't wait to read your anthology story. 'The Muse' is an excellent title. I'm kinda hoping for a 'how to train your muse' manual, 'cause mine needs training badly - waffle over. Camy
  18. Kitty, you Rock!

    Ultra gay

A few things strike me. 5:10am - are you MAD! cut back on the primping and preening and get more sleep. mmmm. zzzzzz. Secondly ear buds. Do I gather that you use the wax from your ears to ... erm ... sort out your eyebrows? It sounds a tad icky. Queen meter - love it! Then it seems you only have one sock. this is sad And lastly baby powder down the undies? better not ask why Camy who has been thoroughly entertained!
  20. I don't know you, but being well acquainted with two other 'local' Goats I'd like to welcome you to the GA herd, and wish you a CRAZY and VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY - chewing on shrubbery Camy

    I

Congratulations! I wrote my first short story for the Spring Anthology this year, and haven't stopped - it's just too much fun. I'm looking forward to reading it! Camy
  22. Umm ... what are grits? Whatever they are we don't get them in the UK - It say's they are 'Coarsely ground hulled corn boiled as a breakfast dish in the southern United States.' So is that like sweet corn? We have Porridge which is great with cream and honey.
  23. Hahahahaha!
  24. Have a great day, and a wonderful year too! Happy Birthday!
