Over The Rainbow • Part II
Carlos Hazday commented on Carlos Hazday's story chapter in Over The Rainbow • Part II
@danield Limerence seems to be popular. I read it in an article, liked it and decided I wanted to use it. Ritchie's feelings for Liz fit well. While it may seem I'm rushing things along, I guarantee there will be plenty of extremely detailed chapters in the future. Like this one dealing with the trip to Australia, there will be some focusing on other travels or events. As for lines between scenes, if you look at this chapter there are three dots serving that purpose. However, I understand current standards (read publishing companies) discourage the use of such dividers. I'm trying that approach in the next book and we'll see how it works. Instead of a line or dots there will be an extra space to signal a shift. -

A heartbreaking story about the condition many women face due to social traditions in many parts of the world. Excruciating to read at times, it's told through the eyes of a mother looking to improve the lives of her two daughters. It is a well written social commentary which will leave you with a ray of hope for oppressed people everywhere. -
Snippets of news reports and journal entries take us through the anxiety of hiding from law enforcement and a crime family. Although the concept is fascinating and well thought out, there times I had to scratch my head trying to figure out what was happening. I wish the author had expanded some sections. All in all a solid little short story.

A Proper Push is one of those unassuming stories that grab you and deliver a solid punch. No over-the-top situations or reactions but an in-depth analysis of what the two main characters face. Although their challenges are entirely different, both characters give each other a push to deal with what has been troubling them. A great little read I'm certain you will enjoy.

LOL, we ran out of tissues with this chapter. So you think my kid did it right? I was trying to not be cold but not be too sweet. I think it fit his personality. -

@danield Thanks, Daniel! I'm guessing you've been reading on CRVBoy. GA's my main site so books get posted here first. I look forward to hearing what you think of this one. It's much easier to comment here after each chapter and I reply to all comments so you'll always get a response. -
Excellent! I look forward to seeing this one develop. Haven't enjoyed my first exposure to someone I've not read before this much in a long time.

I'll repeat what I just said to @mollyhousemouse Groan! -
TImely! I had a reader send me an e-mail this weekend claiming I was forcing him to keep his dictionary handy while he read my stuff. All because I used limerence. @MichaelS36 I'll see your petrichor and raise you a vellichor. (I'll show you mine if you show me yours LOL) And I'll match moist with aquiver. Other favorites: Effervescence Nefarious Ineffable Magnanimous

The segment between the Suez canal and Australia kept me up all night. I know I skipped parts to read ahead because the tension was too much. I swore I'd go back and read those chapters again at a slower pace but I've never had the guts.

I think it took me a week to binge read that sucker! I don't recall much from that time period in my life...

@Defiance19 I think you're lumping me in with those bloody authors who write cliffhangers and stuff. I'm innocent! -

Set up? Are you implying I'm devious? That this is the calm before the storm? That's it, next chapter it's sex, drugs, and EDM! Did you enjoy your getaway? -
Jake's a well written monologue from a conflicted young man. A rollercoaster of emotions that will make you smile, give you hope, and more. A great read.

Ditto.

Tough love combined with advice and encouragement are a powerful combination. You've created a good character in Adam.

The sadness is overwhelming. This is the type of story I'd normally stop reading but your writing kept me going. It's magnificent!

Not much I enjoyed in this one although a certain segment of readers will. Overly melodramatic for my taste which combined with mediocre technical writing, makes it not something I'll ever read again.

Cute short story with a great twist at the end. The old saying about being careful of what we ask for or wish definitely applies. A quick read that will make you smile.-

@BlindAmbition What? It's only like 250 named characters in the series! Most there's no need to remember but Kim's might be worth making note of. She'll show up again sometime soon. -

@BlindAmbition LMAO Harley's sex life seems to generate a lot of interest! Sorry but Kim Huang is a female. She was introduced in Walls as a younger student who served with CJ as co=chair of the school's GSA. -

@pvtguy Thanks, Tony. I try and the support team keeps me honest so a lot of the credit goes to them. -
Shifting Sands, the conclusion to Jack Kirby's Las Vegas Trilogy is the best-titled entry of the series. Constant change seems to be the theme of the main characters lives. Sex and death play a large role but the overriding emotions are love and respect. The mostly gay group of men starring in this tale create an un-traditional family constantly battling adversity and more often than not succeeding. I wish the author had tackled the fourth installment to help answer the myriad questions I have. We're provided updates on most of the cast at the end, but that wasn't enough. Good novel and series you'll enjoy reading.

You do not need a spreadsheet or a pad and pencil to read this chapter. Honestly. If you pay close attention, you'll be able to decipher the convoluted relationships tying most of the cast together. And that's half the fun of reading Desert Fantasies, the second entry in Jack Scribe's Las Vegas Trilogy. Young Cray Gamble escapes the darkness of his family life in Provo and runs away towards the bright neon lights of Las Vegas. The bad boy with a good heart who befriends him on his first day in town starts him on a journey that will take the teen from the Greyhound bus station to the executive floor of the luxurious Barcelona Resort. Along the way, he'll encounter not only fellow students at Green Valley High School but hotel executives, prostitutes, bullies, crime bosses, and assorted denizens of the desert playground. It's a fast-paced tale you'll find difficult to put down. The author weaves real-world references adroitly which help the reader relate to the characters and at times will elicit a chuckle or two. They are all appropriate for this date specific story even if some seem silly today. What man of twenty-six asks a teen not to text because it's too confusing? A well-written tale with few technical issues. This is one to read, enjoy, and return to.

@JeffreyL Thanks, Jeff. My guys may not verbalize lovey-dovey stuff constantly, but when they say something, they mean it and it's from the heart. I think we know how much they mean to each other.
