Wow, great chapter CJ. Thanks for sharing I'll have to admit it was a quick read but with everything that was said and revealed it was hard to even pause. I think you have given us more clues in this chapter than you did from the Prologue to Chapter 78 I guess things will heat up once again. Sanchez has contacts in Tasmania, so I'm sure he will have contacts in Perth. How long before you reveal Bridget and George overheard Joel in the guesthouse say Carnarvon? I so want to slap those two, but also realize that they would be absolutely devastated when they find out they have been the source of all the information for Trevor's killers Let's hope that they build on the motive part of trying to figure out why, and connect Atlantis and Ares to Bridget. Okay, I was going to post this in the actual chapter forum, but I will post it in here. Everything is being based off this one paragraph: CJ has been dropping a fair number of hints to us that things are not what they always seem. In the paragraph Shane says "You like guys, I like girls, same thing." I don't take this as Shane admitting he is straight, but more as saying to him it is no difference than him saying they have different colour of eyes. To Shane, it wouldn't be any different. CJ, in his wisdom put it this way where Shane could have easily have said, "you like girls, i like guys, doesn't make a difference to me". Remember CJ has said the narrator can't lie or mislead, but character can? Shane is definitely misleading in my opinion here. The only thing I hope for is when Shane admits that finally that he is GAY is that Trevor bugs him forever about being even worse than him at coming out and obviously isn't man enough to admit outright like Trevor did Not 100% sure, but could this be considered hyperbole?

So I promised CJ I would not use the ----------- word this week What an ominous ending What storm is brewing that could be even worse? I will look at that later. What I'm wondering is the meaning of root in Australia? Would a rooter be someone who 'fluffs' the players Okay, I'm gonna float a idea that popped into my head while reading this chapter. So we know that Shane knows 100% that Trevor is gay and if Trev wasn't so distracted with Shane in Speedos (maybe a new acronym, SIS), he'd realize Shane is making it comfortable for him to come out. I'm sure the whole Speedo conversation was Shane saying he realizes that a guy in Speedos is a way to make extra money in tips from women, AND MEN. So I then thought about the Blakes since they were mentioned in the chapter. This made me think about Shane's relationship with them, the town and others. Could Shane be openly gay, and Blakes know this and embrace it rather than punish them. For some reason I have a feeling they may have had a son of their own and lost him because he was gay and didn't realize it. They are old enough to be parents, yet have no kids and are willing to stick their necks out for Shane. If Shane is gay it might explain the reason he might be frowned upon by the townfolk even on top of him being a looter of boats. When Shane was with Trevor, he was dismissed every where he applied for a job, girls noticed Trevor, not Shane. Any teenage girl I know would be gaga over a guy that looks like Shane and having a bad rep would only add to the attraction. The only thing I can come up with is that he is 'off the market' to the towns girls. Maybe Graeme can weigh in on this. What is the general attitude of more rural areas of Australia? Is it like in Canada and in the States where conservative Christian values are more prominent? Just this theory would explain a lot of things. Anyone else agree? I will have to check out the Canadian qualifications regarding the Bronze Medallion. Oh, here they are. I forgot I did this back when I was fourteen . I guess we didn't have any land training like being able to run or anything like that. Thanks for the chapter CJ, even though it did end in a ---------.

I really wish they'd make a remake of Logan's run. I saw it when I was like under 10 but the idea that society would come to a time and place where you would have to turn yourself in to be terminated has always haunted me. Didn't help that my Mom who watched it with me was bugging me about it as I approached my 30th birthday

Come on Vic, they think of you as the old perv Can't disagree with this logic. It is funny, I'd say around 30 it definitely becomes a sliding scale. When I was 30, I thought 40 was old. When I was 40, I thought 60 was old. The thing is past 30 everyone below 30 is young. :wacko:
