Well we know that Trevor and Joel will be making a stop in Italy (for a beer run) and since Joel did his diligent homework, they may be stopping in Malta and Greece as well since they are legal age to drink in both places. So here is a question for everyone (but the goat ), what other stops do you think Trevor and Joel will make, and what kind of trouble do you think they will get in? I'm going to pick their first stop to be Ibiza. Even though the age limit for drinking is eighteen, it is very liberal and the sixteen rule is more commonly accepted. Also, with the island being a gay destination, I hope that Trevor manages to hook up with someone to take care of his problems . Well lets hope the party island of The Med is there first stop before Italy.

I think Mike got the jist of my comment, but maybe I wasn't clear enough. I would hazard a guess that if you had lost your wife/husband to the sea which you are terrified of to begin with, wouldn't you be just a little be overprotective to let your son go to the same place that claimed your spouses life? The idea of Trevor sailing is hard enough on Dirk (even though he would kill to be able to do it with him), but to have him go to the same place and possibly to the watery grave that claimed his wife is just too much

So much to discuss (I seemed to have missed commenting last week). First, Thanks Cj for another chapter. Next is the whole Dirk thing. I am not convinced that Dirk is being such a bad guy. Could he be a victim of circumstance??? I mean, lets see, he has Lisa, Trevor, Joel, Lisa's Dad, Joel's ma and pa, Bridgette, and just about everyone single one of us ready to lynch him. Unfortunately we all don't really know that much yet. With the hint CJ threw in that chapter, I might wonder if his lawyer may be his romantic interest too. Now as far as the divorce papers, if I recall, Trevor just read the first page which I would imagine would just have the two peoples names and some words about petitioning for a divorce. Maybe if Trevor hadn't been so quick, he would have read through the papers and found out who was petitioning who. Also, for what reasons. I am going to throw out a possibility, and there really hasn't been anything to disprove this that I know. Could it be that Dirk revealed to Rachael that he was gay, and they both decided it would be best for them to get a divorce. Uncontested and keep the dirty details out of the public record too. Rachael though wants Dirk to keep his sexuality secret from Trevor until he turns eighteen and able to be mature enough to handle the news. Could this be the statue of limitations that is mentioned? She has put a time limit on when Dirk can tell Trevor? Lastly, it seems pretty common in any case of a missing person, the spouse will always be a suspect. It just is a given that it is easy to believe the spouse did it until the body is found or someone else is caught for the death/missing person. Anyways, there is my current thoughts Steve Edit to add: And why does Dirk not want Trevor sooo badly not to look off the coast of Bimini? Would you want your only son to be going constantly back to the place that took your only wife??

Oh my, so much territory to cover . I can help you out with the southern BC and Alberta parts pretty well. Also know Northern BC a bit like up to Prince George and then over in the Fort St John to Dawson Creek and then down. For that last leg, the Jasper down to Banff (I believe you have down the Icefields Parkway and scampered on the Columbia Icefields) there is the Forestry Trunk Road as an alternative. It is a gravel road from Hinton down to Cochrane (Hwy 40) then a jog over to where it becomes the Kananaskis Highway down to Highwood Junction and then back to gravel down to Coleman. This would have you going down and in the Eastern slopes of the Canadian Rockies and will give you a lot of different views. If your looking for hotel accommodations, you may have to detour off the road in the Forestry Trunk section. If you want more specifics, let me know . Steve BTW, make sure you give advance notice to the border that you will be crossing and have your proper shots and paperwork for a goat crossing. I'd hate to see you stuck in quarantine for an extended period of time

You, you, you...........Greg I agree with you that no one has the authority to speak or set rules except the Admins. I imagine they are discussing the whole chat topic among themselves as we speak. The thing is that I think this forum is useful for those who feel an personal interest in making chat a better place so we can all get along and not get shut down again, have a place to express their frustrations and ideas. Yeah, GA is a privately owned web site and the Admins don't need to hear about our griping about how to run their site. On the other hand, some great ideas sometimes come out of brainstorming sessions. So if one idea or none of the ideas come out of this forum, at least I will have the feeling that I am contributing in a small way to make GA better.

Rob, I read your post just after you posted it and I have to admit I was thinking of posting the same type of topic and much the same sort of ideas. I was also interested in what others had to say, and decided to see what they thought. It is interesting that you came up with some good ideas, but now when I look at them in the black and white, I can see how they may be construed as unwelcoming. I know that wasn't your intention, and I still commend you for starting this forum and broaching the subject. After looking at others comments about your initial post, I was wondering if there would be a way to track a member to see if they have been to chat before? Then, the first time they went into chat they would be taken to a screen that would have chat specific rules (short enough not to be like the long leagalize that most webpages/programs/downloads have) and a simple I have read the rules and will abide by them. After that initial time logging into chat it would then default to the mods to police and remind certain members of the rules and there reasons. Regarding the legal stuff of the minors, I have to say I've been very impressed with the way all members police each others on this topic. I have seen topics starting to get inappropriate and before a mod says anything, usually something is said by another member in a good way to let everyone know that maybe to rein things in (sorry about covering your eyes and ears soo much Myval ). Lastly, Linxe, don't get too excited about me having to come over to your team, Lugh has used a special exemption to keep me . Steve (who looks back on this post and definitely decides he should have nothing to do with deciding the length or write up of any chat rules )

Well am I the only one who thought that the Rock of Gibraltar was actually in the straights of Gibraltar? When I looked it up the other day in Google earth I was surprised to see it wasn't and that the runway goes out into the ocean and crosses the road. Any idea why Britain still keeps it? Is it to maintain a presence on the entry/exit of the Med? As far as the story goes, I was laughing and had a perfect picture in mind of Trevor's encounter with the monkey. I think I would freak if that ever happened to me. I think the goat may have given us a very very very big clue in the scene between Dirk and Jim. After that whole exchange about Dirk not being able to let Trevor search off of Bimini and that Jim would be in danger if Dirk revealed what was going on, I got a feeling of a Mob connection. Dirk said he couldn't say anything until seven years past the date of her disappearance. Does Linxe or anyone know if there is any laws in Florida that has a statue of limitations of seven years? I do know that when an insurance company is dealing with a death without a body, there is a time limit before they will pay out any claim to the beneficiary. It's funny how this death has made me think over the past couple of days. I would say that Brian Burke has never been a favourite GM of mine (or when he was the NHL's league disciplinary). When I read the story about his son Brendan coming out to his Dad and the reaction of his Dad to this news, I saw Brian in a new light. I believe the word 'tragedy' maybe gets overused too much, but in this case we had a young courageous man who had connections to the elites of hockey and was making a difference to the way the people in hockey looked at gays. I would say his journey had just started and tragically was ended way too soon for not only his self described mission, but his life as well. I would hope that his father continues on the journey that Brendan had started in whatever ways he finds fit. I'm sure he will surprise many of us. It would also be beneficial to recognize Brendan's efforts to put a face to a cause in hockey by possibly having some kind of award possibly in the future named after him. Maybe I'm hoping for too much. Maybe not enough. It just saddens me that we have lost one of the good guys. Rest in Peace.

Like I said to you already, great job and good for you . I hope today wasn't any different as far as the college promising not to take any action and to listen to your concerns about the discrimination against the faculty and staff.
