It's brutal here too. 92 with a 'feels like' temp of 99. We're supposed to get thunderstorms tonight, then cool down significantly tomorrow. My mom and I moved some stuff in the basement, and I finished Chapter 3 of my new story Now on to Chapter 4...
Good morning We're supposed to hit record high temps today. 92 with a heat index of 98. Bleh. Thankfully it's supposed to cool down tomorrow. My mom is coming over later to help me move some stuff in the basement. I have an engineer coming on Monday to do some drawings for the work I need done on the foundation. I also need to call the company doing the work to see how soon they can start.
So sorry you're going through all this. Your dad's doctor sounds amazing. I can't imagine any of my doctors doing that for me in the middle of the night. I hope he's able to get the surgery he needs soon.
I had a feeling Jesse was Jake... Jake tipped his hand by professing his 'love' so soon. Kyle needs to tell someone and go see Marie again. Maybe she has some advice for how to deal with Jake and counteract the curses.
Great review, Addy! I loved this story. MCVT has written an absolute gem. This is an author flying under the radar on GA. MCVT has a knack for characterization and writing emotional stories that pack a punch. Everything I've read by this author has been exquisitely written and memorable. I highly recommend starting with this story and then checking out the author's other works. You won't regret it.
Today would have been our area's Pride parade, but they're celebrating virtually this year. It's a beautiful cool day. I took a lot of pictures for the model horse show I'm entering next month. I want to get as many pics taken as possible over the next couple of days since Wed temps are back up to 88. I've also finally started working on the new story I started several months ago
Interesting chapter... the idea that Jake's psychopathy derives from past lives is intriguing. So is the mention of Lilith. I don't think it's a good idea for him to walk home with Jesse, especially through the woods at night. I can see something bad happening there... probably to Jesse.
My uncle is a truck driver and was passing a construction site several years ago. One of the workers accidentally knocked over a streetlight and it fell right on his cab, with him in it. Thankfully he only had some minor scratches from the broken glass, but if he'd been in a car, he would not have survived. I'm glad you avoided those bricks. I'm always leery when I'm near trucks hauling loads like that.
