    Chapter 1

Interesting start. I look forward to reading more.
  2.
  3. I agree with Adi, AC. It was definitely the right decision not to edit your early piece. It's interesting to look back and see how we progress as writers. I was just reading some of my early prompt responses and cringing at some of the errors. lol I'm not going to fix them, though.
  4. I always look forward to the first Wed of the month and the Ask an Author feature. It's nice to get to know the authors a little bit better. Aditus' "Red Running Shoes" is one of my absolute favorite stories on this site. It's well worth the read, if anyone hasn't read it yet. Jonah ranks as one of my favorite and most memorable characters I have read. I'm going to have to read it again someday.
  5. What a sweet chapter Andy is such a good soul. I think he'll really start to blossom under the Stevenson's care. It's good that he's got a counselor that he feels comfortable with. He's got so much that he needs to process and a counselor will be invaluable for that. Great job

  8. :wizard: Happy Birthday!! I hope you have an awesome day!! I looked for a kilt cake for you before I read the thread and found the same one that Drew posted, so he beat me to it! LOL Here are some cookies instead.

    Chapter 1

Yikes. I really hope things do get better for poor Kye. I think his master needs a taste of his own medicine. I trust you to make things right.
  10. Thanks, Tim
  11. Thanks, Tim. I'm glad you liked it.
  12. Thanks for the feature, Renee Happy New Year to all!
  13. I played softball for a little bit as a kid, but totally sucked at it. lol I was on the track team in high school. I was always happy if I wasn't last. My biggest sport was equestrian. I rode horses and used to compete in jumping shows. I was much better at that than at traditional sports.
  14. I love Albert's writing All his stories are well worth the read. I'm so excited to hear that there's a sequel to Tantalus!
  15. I'm glad that Mr. Stevenson was able to get the guardian ad litem for Andrew. I have a feeling that things aren't going to go so easily with the Carlsberg PD. Does Mr. Stevenson and the judge know about Uncle Ray? Andy didn't mention anything when the judge asked about family. I know the judge read his journal, so he must know about him...I just hope the bastard doesn't apply for custody. Another great chapter, Parker.
  16. Thanks, AC. I'm glad that so many people like them. @Slytherin - I'm sure that I will revisit these guys at some point, at least in another short or two. Can't say when, though. lol
  17. I'm a huge fan of the old claymations. The story I referenced above- "Nestor the Long-Eared Christmas Donkey" is one of those. It was a huge deal when I was a kid when those came on TV. Another fave is "Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas".
  18. Thanks for the feature, Cia! I loved reading everyone's responses. I have to echo what Mann said about "A Christmas Story". I saw it for the first time in '86 and have loved it since. I laugh every single time Ralphie's mother tells Randy to show her how the piggies eat. I swear I have most of it memorized. LOL
  19. This was great I'd feel the same way if I ever moved to an area that didn't have Wegmans.
  20. Thanks for including the breakdown. And thanks again to W_L, Renee, AJ, and crew for offering such a great contest and to all who wrote stories and voted. It was a tremendous amount of fun and I look forward to the next one
  21. So the truth is out. I bet it won't be an easy road, but I'm guessing that the Stevensons will fight tooth and nail for Andy. Good thing Mr. Stevenson is a lawyer. Great chapter.

    Story

I loved this story. I thought you portrayed the reality of caring for someone with disabilities well. Jude got the break and release that he sorely needed. Great job!
  24. This was an interesting story. I don't think I would have been as forgiving, but it's our differences that make the world interesting. I still enjoyed the story, though.

    Chapter 1

What a lovely story. I loved the mom's realization that she just wanted her son to be happy. What a nice gift from Santa, too I really enjoyed this.
