The door flew open with a loud bang, followed by a frantic Owen barging his way into the house. The garbage bag he was carrying snagged on the doorframe, ripping and spilling its contents all over the front hallway. He slammed the door shut and stood with his back against it, chest heaving. Sweat ran in rivulets down his pale face and his eyes were wide with fear. I set down the lemon I’d been slicing and ran over to him. “What happened? What’s wrong?” He pointed to our front yard shakily.

I live in Buffalo, NY and am appalled to be on the top of this list. It is definitely NOT my experience as someone born and raised here. Are there homophobes and racists here? Yes, but I don't think with any more prevalence than the rest of the country.

Even though filet mignon is supposed to be the best cut of steak, I personally prefer rib-eyes or T-bone or NY strip. They're fattier and have more flavor, IMO. Thin Mints are one of my fave GS cookies, too. Especially right from the freezer. I have to agree with your son on the Samoas, though. They are quite tasty. I just wish they came with more for the price you have to pay for a box. The story idea sounds interesting. Lots of different directions it can go. -

I was totally in love with Duran Duran when I was a kid. My best friend wanted to marry Simon LeBon and I vacillated between Nick Rhodes and John Taylor. I agree that they wore their make-up well.

This was a very thought-provoking chapter. Jacob is a remarkable young man. He realizes that what he's been taught is wrong, but is afraid of that realization based on the indoctrination that his father has ingrained in him. His mother doesn't seem like a bad person - she seems to be questioning her husband's views, also. I wonder if she'll have the guts to stand up to him if push comes to shove? Great story. I'm really enjoying it so far.

The jousting is one of my favorite things to watch at Ren Faires. I've never seen anyone impaled though, thank goodness! Thanks for reading and leaving a review

Thanks, Addy I started it a couple of weeks ago and finally got around to finishing it. lol When I read the ambulance prompt, I thought about a story I saw on tv about a knight who was impaled on his own sword. That made me think of jousting, and then led to my prompt idea. lol I'm glad you liked it

I've always been fascinated by the meaning of names and take great care in my own stories when choosing names. Two other comments: I love Sam Gamgee, too. He's the definition of loyal friend.
