Marriage? Wow...I did not see that coming! You had me guessing all chapter as to what Andy's plans were. He's a smart cookie. I can't wait to see how this all works out.

Signature Feature February Signature Feature: Butterflies Fly Free By Bill W
Valkyrie commented on Cia's blog entry in Gay Authors News
Sounds like an interesting story. I'll be sure to check it out. -
I loved this story. Solomon is a great cat and I loved his presence throughout the story. The build up and mystery of the gifts was intriguing. Ken and Colin both seem like great guys and I'm really glad they found each other. I also loved the homage to the LOL Cats thread

Awww...sweet story. I had a feeling that the name of the SA would also be in the cards. I thought this was very realistic since it was pretty clear that John was straight. Hopefully he will find something more meaningful with Maria than his previous flings. I'm glad that Eric found his Valentine, too. I really enjoyed this.

Cute story. I loved the whole "Lady in the flames" mix-up. Like Graeme, I wondered if James was going to end up with Trevor, too. I'm glad he finally 'fessed up and told Tom the truth.

Brad was an ass. Gabriel deserved much better than him. I liked both Denny and Avery, but I'm glad that the secret admirer turned out to be Avery. I really enjoyed this story.

I'm glad things worked out for them. Nice story

I don't think that this is over. I have a feeling that the CPS lady (Chandler?) will find out about Andy's past and use it against him. I wonder if she'll find Uncle Ray and have him lay claim to custody? I hope not... I loved how Andy and Zander left that jerk Bruce in the dust. lol I bet that Andy is going to give Kaz some real competition this year.

I can relate to the feeling of not liking Valentine's Day and being nobody's valentine. I loved the ending when all the feelings he'd been bottling up were released to a total stranger. I absolutely love the term 'bi-cuddly' The kiss at the end was great. Too bad the stranger ended up being straight, but at the very least maybe he has a new friend now. I really enjoyed this story.

My heart was in my throat and I sobbed through a lot of this story, thinking about what was going to happen to the poor prisoner. The evolution of Varius' feelings was beautiful to see and I knew he wouldn't be able to let them execute Valentine. Very well done, SA.

This was a powerful story and so well done. You showed us the reactions of all around him brilliantly and poignantly. I suspected it was the narrator who had dementia when he was so concerned about his partner. He's lucky he has someone so caring to look out for him as his health declines. I read this a while ago and I'm still tearing up just thinking about it. Great job, SA

I loved this story. The interplay between Sablo and Theo was great. I was wondering what color arrows they would be shot with

A Gift For the Quiet One
Valkyrie commented on comicfan's story in 2016 - Secret Admirer Short Story
This is such a sweet story. I had a feeling it was Nick. Fred's due for a little happiness. Hopefully he will find it with Nick. Nice job, Secret -
Gabriel doesn't have the best luck when it comes to men. He's hoping that Cupid's arrow will find its mark. He has the perfect Valentine's Day planned, so it has to...right?

Gabriel’s shadow flickered against the wall as he lit the last candle on the mantle. It had taken him all afternoon to decorate his small apartment. In addition to the candles that now illuminated the entire living room and bedroom, red streamers lined the doorways, and cardboard hearts and Cupids adorned the walls. The coup de grace was a bouquet of red roses sitting in a vase on the coffee table, alongside a bottle of champagne chilling in a bucket of ice, and a plate full of chocolate-cove

Back On His Feet - 2/4/2016
Valkyrie commented on Cynus's story chapter in Back On His Feet - 2/4/2016
I loved it! Great tie-in to the mime restaurant I hope Kyle takes advantage of Alexander's generosity and gets himself back on his feet. He seems like a good guy. I'd love read more about these two. -
 "I'm just a stuff"... Well, we know their money isn't going to customer service reps fluent in English. lol I don't have a story like that, but I do have one about a food order I placed. It was a pizza place out in your neck of the woods, Beagle. lol I ordered a party-size pizza, half pepperoni and half cheese along with a salad and some pop. We had people present at our meeting who did not eat pork, so we needed the cheese only portion. Well, when I got the order, the entire pizza was covered in pepperoni. So I called and told them their error and stated we needed a cheese pizza delivered because we had people who could not eat the pepperoni. The girl I talked to huffed and then told me to hold on. Then she comes back on the line and says "Well that's how they made it. Are you sure it has pepperoni on the whole thing?" I told her I knew the difference between plain cheese and pepperoni pizza and the entire thing had pepperoni on it. OMG They finally delivered the plain pizza, but were NOT nice about it. No offer of a refund, no apology or anything. The manager didn't even seem to care, so we found another place to order from in the future.

By Any Other Name - 2/2/2016
Valkyrie commented on Cynus's story chapter in By Any Other Name - 2/2/2016
You really embraced the mime portion of the prompt Congrats on finding a way to make mimes enjoyable and funny, and not annoying and creepy. lol I thought that the first mime might not actually be a valet and turn out to be a car thief, but then you had the whole restaurant as mime themed. I thought it was charming and funny and a nice take on the prompt. I see good things in the future for these two. -
Chapter 54 Repercussions
Valkyrie commented on Parker Owens's story chapter in Chapter 54 Repercussions
Even after 54 chapters this story is still riveting and going strong. Well done We knew there would 'repercussions' at some point, and we got them here in spades. The trouble at school is just beginning, even though it seems like most of the school is on Andy and Zander's side. My guess would be that it was the bully - Bruce? - that blew them into CPS. I have to agree a bit with Oxala about the CPS director. She goes to an extreme that I imagine one in her position would handle a bit more subtly. A random 'safety check' or some such thing to ding the Stevensons on and probably a private conversation with Andy like she had. A director would know that she wouldn't be able to remove someone purely based on discrimination of sexual orientation, but would find or fabricate another reason to remove him or make their lives hell in a more bureaucratic way. Just my opinion, though. I look forward to the judge nailing her to the wall during their meeting. lol There's still another shoe to drop, too. We don't know what's happening with the investigation into his father's death and what will happen to Andy in that regard. I look forward to the next chapter! -
The Lake's Embrace - 2/1/2016
Valkyrie commented on Cynus's story chapter in The Lake's Embrace - 2/1/2016
Awww... I loved it, Cynus. The problem with these short prompts is that they're going to leave your readers salivating for more. Great ending. The future is looking up for both men. -

Fleeing Your Student Loans By Going Overseas?
Valkyrie commented on methodwriter85's blog entry in Methodwriter85's Blog
It's absolutely not ok, and it's not something I would ever do or encourage others to do. I'm still paying off my student loans from my masters degree and will be for a long time. I'm not eligible for the student loan forgiveness program, unfortunately, because of the ridiculous guidelines they set forth for it. Whatever happened to the concept of personal responsibility? Don't want to pay your loans...move away. Buy a house you can't afford? Walk away and let the bank have it. The student loan system in this country needs some major changes, but there also needs to be fiscal responsibility on behalf of the student taking out those loans. I had a student intern once who told me she had over 150k in student loan debt. It's absolutely ludicrous to accrue that much debt for a profession whose starting salary is a fraction of that. She'll still be paying it off when she's in the nursing home. Provided she hasn't jetted off to Europe that is...
