  1. Whoa!! People, GO READ THE CHAPTER! Whoa... OK, I'll keep my mouth shut on spoilers for right now, but a few minor points I need to make: The above is one of the most skillful lines I've ever seen. It establishes the time, and adds richness to the story. Now that is writing... "Offbeat unison" has got to be one of my favorite phrases in writing, ever. As for the other events in this chapter, I won't mention anything more until people have had a chance to GO READ THE CHAPTER! Oh, one thing... I have a suggestion for a chapter title: The Deli.
  2. That is definitely me! I haven't even been in a movie theater in years! If I want to see a movie (Rare, for me), I wait for it to come out on DVD. The person below me has, unlike me, seen a good movie lately.
  3. 1000 posts! The Millenium Club's newest member is Drewbie! :king: :king: :king: :king: :king: Congratulations Drewbie!!!! :king: :king: :king: :king: :king:
  4. The above is Drewbie's 999th post. I think he knows I'm watching... LoL. I can't wait to see where he puts #1000
  5. I am! I hope everyone has voted ? If not, do it! The person below me has voted in the member choice awards! !
  6. Addiction? What addiction? I'm not the one who is miniutes away from making his 1000th post!!! (Great job!!) I'm just a quiet and shy forum lurker, I tell ya! I can't wait to see two new members join the G.A. Millenium club tomorrow!
  7. Palm... Wireless or hard-wired networking?
  8. I certainly was for a long time! I am loving it though, and having a load of fun! Give it a try... The person below me has (or will) submit an anthology entry soon.
  9. Ooops! Yep, oblivious... And Emoe will surely be along shortly to remind me that I can't type. LoL! Hmmmm... My own personal definition of "gay" is someone who just happens to prefer same-sex relationships, so to me being in a same-sex relationship means "gay" or "bi". I do agree on the rest, though.
  10. I do! The person below me is looking forward to the fairy tales anthology.
  11. I'd have never picked up on that (gay characters in the novels) without DK's post, either. But, I read the Pern books long before I knew I was gay, and I was even more obvious then than now. I'm definitely going to be doing some reading soon.
  12. I like the way you did that: giving each their own speech patterns. That's really good. Even most mainstream published novels lack that. CONTEST!!!!!!!!!!! I;m slightly vauge on what you mean here: You mean which character the story started around, right? If so, based on a re-reading of Chapter one, my conclusion is Joanna, Jacob's Mom. The first part of the first chapter seems to be clearly about her. Jacob is almost incidental, and it can't be Matt or Val because they don't even appear until halfway through the chapter. The second half, though, is more about Valerie.
  13. I'll go with monogamous. Posting: large, infreqent posts or numerous small posts?
  14. Just wanted to remind everyone that the due date is Feb 1st. Thanks! CJ
  15. Tight moguls! Much more fun to ski. right handed or left handed?
  16. Nope... Oh! ACK, yes! And I'm sure glad you reminded me. The person below me needs to remember to write things down!
  17. WHAT? I thought Kangaroos made Aussie wine? Or is it beer that they make? Water slides!! I love those! I grew up on the beach in California so I find wave pools a bit lacking. Water slides: long ride, or high speed?
  18. Chivas... Australian of California wine?
  19. Hmmmm. #2 has to be true, or #3 can't be true. That leaves 1 or 3 as the lie. I'm guessing that your snowboard is made by someone other than K2, so I'll say #1 is the lie.
  20. Readers can always skip parts if they wish, but IMHO the best thing to do is whatever you want to do; its your story, and the most important person to keep happy is you.
  21. Just thought I should mention this again...
  22. I loved the surprise too! I'd been wondering what would happen there. MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD The hatching scene was very well done! I loved it. I had expected that color, but, Dan wrote it in such as way as to make me think otherwise right up until it happened.
  23. Howdy, Goat!!! That was a little bit of deception on my part. I did it in Ch 7 to let people think they might have sex in that chapter. I used it in Ch 8 for similar reasons, even though they did. That disclaimer won't be back. The next sex scene does not have it. I love that disclaimer!!!! As for where it appears; I do accept large cash bribes in return for information... How true!! Isn't it amazing just how much we are finding out about Emoe? the little hint he dropped above, and the Fundi Pastor thing, what next?
  24. I'm personally not fond of numerous graphic sex scenes in stories, regardless of orientations If it is important to the plot, then great, but if it is just there for the sake of being there, then I'm not likely to read for long. However, if an author whose stories I like delves into areas that I don't like, at worst I'll skip over the parts I don't like. After all, a good author is worth being patient for. And of the author is very good, they often have very good reasons, not apparent until later, for doing what they did.
  25. Krista got it right! #3, garlic on Vanilla ice cream, was the lie. It's chocolate ice cream that I like garlic powder on. Tried it on vanilla and hated it. Bleach... BTW, it has been oft mentioned to me, for some unfathomable reason, that I have somewhat odd tastes in food. And sorry Graeme, but I'm an omnivorous Goat...
