    Chapter 5.1

I always like to keep my readers guessing Of course, at the moment my characters are keeping me guessing too, so we will all be surprised. Thanks for reading and commenting Gary

    Chapter 5.2

I agree this is (as usual for me) growing into a much bigger story than I originally thought it would be. I wonder how many more there will be to this team? Yep, this little family is growing and I'm sure it will grow more by the end. Thank you both for reading and commenting

    Chapter 6.1

The older lady is Frans Grandma, she was introduced in the last chapter. I'm sure we'll fine=d out more about her soon though, Simon is always ready with questions. I think this will go a long way towards easing some of Simon's fears about feeding. Of course, other than Kitryn or Grandma, I can't see him finding any willing donors in the near future. Thank you both for reading and commenting
  7. Beautiful and sad, all in one.
  8. Simon blinked awake and immediately wondered where he was. He sat up in the really comfortable bed he’d been laid in and looked around. The room was almost bare except for the bed and a dresser in a far corner. It was obviously a guest room, but the question was whose guest room? He could hear Kitryn’s voice and a woman’s softer tones. He moved as quietly as possible to get out of bed and pad to the doorway to see if he could get any more information before he was discovered to be awake.
  9. I'm with Kitt...I think Jimmy and Preston will be butting heads (and maybe fists?) a lot during this. Wonderful as always Gary
  10. I've never been considered 'normal'. While I was in secondary school I was studying and keeping to the school uniform code, other girls were experimenting with makeup and talking about boys. When I got to college I loved studying law and accounting while the rest of my class did the bare minimum to get by because their parents had told them they had to attend college or get a job. Group assignments are not fun if you end up doing all the work, even if you get a lot of the credit for it. University was worse in a way. While my classmates were getting drunk and drugged up and talking about who they'd 'done' that night. I was traveling a four hour round trip to get to classes and trying to make time to see my fiance. Apparently, it isn't normal for a uni student to NOT get drunk and sleep around. Apparently, I needed to bring more experience to my marriage. If all this was what was considered 'normal' I wanted no part of it and still don't. It may work for some people, but not for me. My parents brought me up to be an individual and to be proud of it. It has caused me no end of trouble with bullies and such, but I never want to be anyone but myself. For that, I will put up anything. Good topic molly

    Chapter 4.1

I'm so glad you like the story. The short chapters are part of the Wednesday Briefs rules...All chapters are between 500 and 1,000 words. I am working towards posting another longer chapter on a Saturday but things keep coming up at home and getting in the way. Thank you for reading and commenting
  14. Great start Gary...I'll look forward to the next installment

You never know who may turn up. But, at the moment as far as Kitryn knows they are all dead. We'll have to all wait and see

    Chapter 5.2

As wonderful as a rescue attempt would be to write, all their group are dead. Kitryn told us in chapter 2.3. Unless of course, anyone else escaped??? Thanks for reading and commenting

First, I am so sorry for the delay in replying I didn't see the notification and am only just doing my routine check of my various stories/poems. I am so glad you liked the poem and you are right it is like a new/different life once the sunsets. The people you meet at night compared to the daytime are so different, its like people change their personalities as well as their clothes before they go out. I think it is the fact people can shake off their day and just relax for the night before the new day brings back all the responsibilities (and the hangover ) Thank you for taking the time to comment
  18. Firstly, please take heed of the warning in the blurb. This story has a lot of abuse in it and it could be a trigger to some people. Also, make sure you have a box of tissues nearby, you may need them. This is one of Craftingmom’s stories that I reread fairly often. The reason I like it is it is real. As much we would like it not to be true things like this happen. People get away with some truly terrible things just because they have the social standing for people to not believe they would do anything bad. Avery is a broken young man but there is hope deep inside him. When the new guy starts to take notice of him the reader sees there is a small part of Avery that isn’t broken and is still fighting. The new guy doesn’t care about the fathers social standing. He doesn’t care about anything except for the fact that he knows something isn’t right with Avery. Towards the end, even a member of the police is getting suspicious. I wanted to get my hands on the father in this story. I am not normally prone to violence outside of my fantasy stories (where my bad guys usually meet a very bloody and painful end) but if this jerk had been a real person I would have been out for blood. This story treats a very sensitive subject with respect and shows exactly how it can go on right under people’s noses. As the title suggests, What no one sees, because no one looks. A highly recommended read

First, I will issue a tissue warning, this story will have you in tears of sadness and happiness. Ryden has been in an accident and it has left him very sick. He only has brief periods of being awake. When he is awake the only person he asks for is Luke. But, Ryden’s mum can’t get hold of Luke. She calls his friends, and Lukes mum. They all seem to know something that she doesn’t, and no one wants to be the one to tell her. When the reasons come to light I like the fact that Ryden’s mum doesn’t flinch from standing up and taking her son’s side. I was cheering when she found out why Luke hadn’t been around to see Ryden and she explodes spectacularly. Ryden’s condition had me in tears for him and his mum. I don’t know what I would do if I had to sit and watch my daughter fighting to stay awake for even a few moments at a time. Nephy captures the agony and fear of the characters perfectly. My only complaint about this story would be the length. I would have liked to have had more, but then I can be a greedy reader A really well-written read, highly recommended.
  20. I loved this story. At first the way Faeries Anonymous (FA) is mixed up with Narcotics Anonymous (NA) is funny. Then you realize that Alvin thinks he’s human and the rest of the group he is sitting in on don’t. Although this is a short story the descriptions of the characters are wonderful. Val gives her readers a wide variety of personalities and identities. You have George, or as his friend call him Mr. Tumnus and the leader of the merry band is Garin, an elf. You also have a hobgoblin, two pixies, a grundel, and a gnome. My only wish is that Val will consider doing a few sequels soon and telling us the stories of the others in the group. A really entertaining read and highly recommended.
  21. I have read this story several times. As the blurb told you Tait is married to a famous artist. Unfortunately, what looked to the outside world like a wonderful marriage was completely different behind closed doors. We meet Tait for the first time when he is in the hospital and he is waiting to be taken home by his friend Philip. Tait had been beaten almost to the point of death by his husband, Sean, and left for dead. As the story progresses we get to know the true depth of the horrors Tait had endured in his marriage to Sean. tim’s writing style makes sure you get to know the characters so well you feel what they feel. By the end, I wanted to kill Sean. I wanted him to experience even a tenth of what he’d put Tait through. Then I wanted to make him suffer and die slowly. Tait is a lovely sweet man and I wanted to wrap him up so nothing else could ever hurt him. Philip looks after him and does everything in his power to make sure Tait is safe. Of course, he is also in love with Tait, but he never lets that get in the way of what is best Tait. I really felt for Philip, I can’t imagine looking after someone I loved and having to keep a certain distance between us at all times. Tait finds out eventually and when they grow slowly closer towards the end, it is a natural healing love. Philip makes sure Tait is totally ready (and divorced) before he allows anything to happen. It is a story of hurt, healing, and love. And I loved reading it. A highly recommended read.
