Your review makes me so happy! I have been struggling with my staccato tendency, so I tried very hard to not break the poem up in separate lines. I'm so glad it showed! Reading them out loud is a good way to check the flow and also to see if the rhymes feel natural. Good rhymes (much like good men...) are hard to find. They can be awkward or too slick to leave the right impression. I try to make them almost unnoticeable, apart from the effect they have on flow. A lot to think about...

Faris seems to know exactly how far he can push James... And a proposal will "buy" him a lot more room for annoying behaviour. Very nice gift for James (and of course Faris). I like how you focus on their interaction in your story. It says so much about these guys with us having to be told stuff.

Kind of off topic and I'm not gay, so maybe I shouldn't try and speculate, but anyway... I think lesbian relationships are less threatening to society and perhaps straight men specifically since they pose no threat to the world order. A couple or group of women with no men present is viewed as simply waiting for a guy to come along. If they happen to "entertain" themsrlves while waiting it's no big deal. Nothing a good f**k can't "correct". I can't tell you how many times I've been with a group of female friends and a guy walks up and seriously asks "What are you doing here all alone?" So female interaction doesn't really count, unless it's for his arousal (which I think is also a reason for acceptance)... A bit harshly put, I know, but sometimes the straight male norm is so clear it almost hurts to watch.

This unexpectedly turned out a bit more personal than I planned, so I'm glad you could get something out of it anyway. But that's what so great about poetry, isn't it? I intend to say one thing, you hear another and that's not only ok, but amazing! Thanks for your review!

The anniversary was tough to read. All that sorrow... I almost found it hard to breath myself. Maybe it's time for Morgan to start living again? Even if it's difficult. And a discussion thread would be much appreciated by me at least...

Oh, to have that goodbye possibly be the last time they see each other... Morgan could be just consumed by guilt for the rest of his life if Danny doesn't come back. Gives you perspective on how to prioritise in life.

This is in my opinion one of the best stories here on GA. You capture the essence of the story really well, Tim. It's dark, funny, sexy, scary, sad... I care very much for Nate and the creatures (not entirely human...) in his life and I'm always happy to see an update. So just read it!

Those passages from Wyatt's POV practically had me crying... What despair to just lay there and wait for death. And hopes of meeting his mother. Ok, now I'm crying for real...

A world without coffee would spell disaster! LOL This was a great prompt, even if it was a bit sad that the whole existence had to go for her experiment. It's fun to read (and write) prompts, since authors can just have fun with them.

This time I really, really battled my impatient nature and general lack of time and read all lines aloud over and over, working to get that flow. I moved words around A LOT. Some phrases I unfortunately fell in love with when I wrote them and I couldn't kill all my darlings that in truth might have needed to be put down. The rythm and flow is therefore compromised in some lines... I also discovered my preferred syllable count is eight. Almost all lines ended up being 8 syllables on the first go. Strange! So much emotion between these guys. They might try and act as if they are operating under that contract, but it seems pretty clear something else is at work here. Dorian really needs to watch out for Felix' ability to take anything sexually but nothing emotionally. For someone so young to be so without boundaries and still trying to distance himself, is at least to me something to be careful with. A bit of a challenge for the very smitten Dom...

Good to see Luke being a bit remorseful, even if he still acts like a predator in a way. Does he really believe the best way to help Gary is by seducing him? Sure, Gary should be old enough to make his own decisions, but having suppressed his feelings for so long they will be coming out in force. He doesn't really stand a chance. Weird reaction from the supervisor. Why couldn't he just listen to the boys? Blind obedience would have left Luke in pain for much longer. Is that better?

Uh-oh... I guess this will give Chris a bit of a conundrum himself. So when Gary finally decides to take a chance, he really goes for it. Good for him, but perhaps not the best timing. Sucks that they were warned for simply trying to help Luke.

These poems almost makes me cry. To me, it's unthinkable to put a child, my child in anywhere near those circumstances. It breaks my heart to know it happens all too often. Very touching.

That was such happy news! I tear up thinking back to those days, waiting for our first baby. Such turbulent, emotional times, when I went from being scared out of my mind to feeling I could take on the world and back again. Take your time and build your family. I think you'll find writing can eventually be an outlet to just be you. As a parent, you often end up being "only" a parent. So maybe we'll get to read more from you eventually. I hope so. Also, I'll give you the only piece of advice I give new parents. Take it or leave it... Most things you have to work out on your own and see what suits you. Just remember to be kind to each other and bite your tongue on occasion. I know, it sounds like weird advice, but when you've had three months of no or little sleep it's all too easy to not be very nice. So just be kind. Parenting is the most rewarding and fun (yes fun!) experience ever!
