Through our bodies we can provide resistance

    Chapter 13

Bryan! Listen to Eddie! Gah! Bryan's feeling of uselessness is really heartbreaking. If something like that happened to me, I would be climbing the walls too trying to do something, anything. Even though you usually can't.

    Prompt 442

Thank you for your review! I've been trying to play around with how we usually see vampires. This chapter was another challenge for myself and also an opportunity to show other aspects of these two. I hope I get more inspiration soon! It's so much fun to write!

    Prompt 442

I was actually very satisfied with that sentence and that you would like it and read it like I intended, makes me very happy! I was afraid it could be seen as contrived but I decided to go for it. This writing really is interesting. I have a vague idea of where I'm going and then the story takes over. Fascinating! Thanks for your review!

    Chapter 1 (1.1)

    Yay! More Marshall and Lee!
  6. This was so very good. I really liked the rythm of the poem. Conveys the feeling of a stolen moment, breathless, hurried but deeply connected.
  7. Wow! Just wow! You capture my thoughts to this heartfelt scene so precisely. And you make it look effortless, which I know it isn't. That lightness of the wording combined with the subject matter just floors me. Now I'm even more triggered to do this. I don't think I'll be able to top this, but I want to give it a try. It's so beautiful.

    Prompt 442

Thank you for reviewing! I was a bit nervous about this, since I had never tried writing sex before. It's a different but fun experience. I'm glad I made it sexy.

    Prompt 442

I'm glad this prompt had the intended effect! I hadn't really thought about the neighbour other than a nifty way to get those prompt words in there, but her nosiness could prove useful. What a good idea! Thanks for reviewing!
  10. Oh! My little prompt! *doing a happy dance* Ha! For me, it would be zombie but without the energy to cause an apocalypse...

    Prompt 442

Thank you for your review! I was going for sexy, so I'm glad I seem to have pulled that off. I hope for more inspiration soon. I have a very rough draft in my head...

    Prompt 442

When that hunger strikes, you have no choice but to follow along for the ride... The next I hope won't be so close to PWP, but who knows? I might get stuck on sexy! Thanks for reviewing!

    Prompt 442

I'm thinking about the back story now, but this prompt just demanded to be written first. It's kind of an experiment: Can I write sex and sexy? It's a first go and it was kind of hard (he, he...). Thanks for your review!

    Prompt 442

I'm glad you liked it and that you think I managed to hit the mark with a more sexy feel to it. I felt almost challenged to step up my game by a certain evil author... (Just kidding, he's very supportive and nice. Don't tell anyone... ) Thanks for reviewing!
  15. Luke pisses me off! How can he do that to Gary? Some Christian, almost forcing himself on Gary.A physical reaction isn't a go ahead. Not if the other person says no! Chris has some profound insight to the role of a missionary. Maybe because he's grown up in different circumstances. How are such young people supposed to be able to teach and preach, when they have no life experiences to draw from? To reach people, I think you need to connect. To connect you need to understand. Otherwise, you'll just stick to judging.

    Chapter 12

That woman! I mean... GRRR! Ok, that said (or growled), I feel so incredibly bad for Eddie. If he ever realises what his mother is doing, his world could collapse! He's so sweet and trying so hard to be good and she just uses him. He's childlike in the true sense of the word, not thinking ill of anyone. Not even Wyatt, though MD has him convinced he's hurt Bryan. Couldn't Wyatt have been able to reach that blanket...? I get shivers just reading this. At least, he has water.
  17. "Have you seen Duchess?" I started at the shrill voice of my neighbor and just about dropped my keys after opening my door. She stood almost right behind me, far too close for comfort. I briefly thought she might be a vampire too, since she moved as quietly as my houseguest. I dismissed the thought suppressing a smile. You never smiled at Mrs. Simons, unless you wanted to spend endless amount of time talking about the most boring things in the universe, mainly her cat. I wouldn’t be surprised i
  18. I think you tell this story so well. The way Josh never truly understands Nathan's feelings for him until it's too late and then he's scared of being made out to someone he's not. The guilt at not having understood will be hard for Josh to bear, but he really couldn't understand where Nathan was heading. The thought of killing himself so foreign, it wasn't even a remote possibility. I think this is how it often is with suicide. People usually have such will to live, that the opposite is practically unthinkable. If you can't think it, you can't see the signs. So by talking about it, someone might be saved.
  19. Thanks for your review! I don't think there is such a big difference, not since my hubby flat out fainted when the ultrasound of our second child indicated there was something seriously wrong (luckily, there wasn't). To me, that instant, physical reaction made it clear he already loved this baby. So you may not have the nausea or the swollen feet, but they invade you too instantly mind, body and soul. The love is just there. I love the thought of a baby glued to the womb. The idea of having another human being inside your body for 9 months is in itself a mind boggling thought, so it's hard for anyone to make an image for themselves about what's going on in there...
  20. Exactly! A very strange feeling of life taking over and you just have to tag along. Thanks for your review!
  21. I'm glad you said that about the b-b lines. Those were hard! You have no idea how many times I've read this aloud to myself, counting and tapping my finger... I thought it was just me, but to hear it is difficult makes me feel bettt. Maybe not sonnet-ready, but I'll keep going anyway! Practice is needed. I only have to find the time...

    Chapter 11

I'm getting a Lennie vibe from Eddie. Big, strong and basically friendly, but easily lead since he isn't like most people. How will Wyatt convince Eddie to help him? If MD is driving him back and doesn't seem to plan on bringing him back for a while. Maybe Bryan will visit in an attempt to distract himself from the worry over Wyatt. A person can survive for a while if there is water, so those showers could actually prolong the process.
  23. All firece mamas! In this one, I tried to build on what I learned from the earlier prompts. The poem probably needs to be edited and shortened, but I was too fond of all the stanzas to cut any. The difficulty of writing about something so emotional... Thanks for your review!
  24. Unprepared, without any clue To fully grasp what I have done Where before I used to be one Now they say I’m actually two I can't even hear all they say While panic rises from within Bursting over my sweating skin I'll never forget this strange day Questions are mounting, doubts abound Will I do for someone so small? Have I the strength to be their all? In my head it all swims around Then on a screen, we finally meet You and me in a darkened room So strange to look inside m
  25. That was just heartbreaking to read. I can understand why Josh is feeling so bad, but to me Nathan killing himself can't be all because of Josh. At least, Josh shouldn't feel like he's all to blame. As I see it, he didn’t succumb to peer pressure. He was friends with Nathan even when no one supported him and even tried to make him stop. It wasn't until Nathan couldn't handle Josh not being interested that he stopped. He shouldn't have said those awful things, but Nathan had no right implying the kiss was any more than it was. And be honest. Nathan wasn't a very easy person to befriend. Why? I guess we'll never know for sure.
