Chapter 35 King of Clubs
LitLover commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 35 King of Clubs
You have no idea how happy I am that Kendall managed to talk Candy around! I was sure she was going to get more money out of them and that had me worried..because she would never stop. Kendall really laid it all out for her...and I think his acts of simple human kindness threw her for a bit of a loop. Even after she said she wasn't going to change he mind, he stayed to make sure she would be have a ride home. Kendall really is such a good person...even worrying about Candy's car. I'm not sure that Candy has ever surrounded herself with very many good men. I think I can breathe a little sigh of relief now. Thank you Gary -
Brett and Cesar handled that conversation with CJ very well. It is a fine balance between trying to make sure your children are safe and remembering they are not little kids anymore. I think Cesar and Brett achieved that balance. They expressed their concern with CJ's recklessness but didn't treat him like he was a child. The last thing you want is to alienate your kids and have them shut you out. CJ is a hormonal 15 year old boy. He is going to have sex. That is a fact of life and addressing their concerns now could give CJ some food for thought and maybe prevent him from doing something else just as reckless in the future. I am so happy for Tommy that he might actually get to start seeing his kids again. It sounds like his dad is the one behind his ex keeping them from Tommy. Just another reason to dislike that man. I can't wait to see what the Chief has to say. I assume the officers are going to be disciplined. The only question is, how severely?

I have to say that if I had brothers like Greg's maybe I would have wanted more than one . Seriously though CG, it was a great chapter. I really enjoyed the sibling teasing, and how they included Denny. You could tell that these brothers had always been very close, although that might have changed when Greg realized he was gay. I thought the conversation between Greg and Lee was sweet. It's wonderful that Lee has someone older he can talk to about the raging mess that are his hormones. Greg didn't have that, but did luck out when he met Ben, so he had someone safe to explore those desires with. Maybe Lee will have to be Greg's next project for "project boyfriend" after Ben? I chuckled when the brothers teased Greg and Denny about feeding each other. That was so much like my brother and me. This chapter really made me smile CG. Thank you.

Confrontation and control
LitLover commented on Timothy M.'s story chapter in Confrontation and control
This felt like a pivotal chapter Tim. Daddy dearest tried to seperafe mom from the family and was shocked to find her backbone grew with her instinct to protect her children. Bravo to Isa for standing up to her husband. Even his daughter and sons stood up to him today. I agree with Gary...Henry lurking by the hedge was symbolic of how he now stands in the shadows of his family as they walk away from him. It's up to him how their relationship will proceed now. I loved how Russell is really growing more confident and the strength instilled in him by Jacob stays with him even when they are apart. Those are the best relationships...the ones that make you stronger and more confident in yourself. I also love these memory trips that Russ takes, thinking back to conversations with Jacob . They are great sources of insight into the way Russ's mind works and shows how far he has come in 3 months. Plus we get a little bit of Jacob I'm intrigued to see his Kristen with react to Christian. Her strong reaction to just his name tells me there is a story there -
Chapter 34 Queen of Spades
LitLover commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 34 Queen of Spades
I am really starting to like Lanny, as surprising as that is. He is trying so hard to atone for his mistakes and be a better person. I don't think he's doing this for Janine, which is good. It's better that he is doing this for himself. The change might actually stick that way. The good thing about Janine being there is she is encouraging him in the changes he is trying to make. Candy is an incredibly selfish person. She doesn't seem to have empathy or sympathy for anyone. I'm not sure what made her so jaded but she is poisonous. I hope that Kendall and Michael can come up with a way to deal with her threats because if they give in she is never going to stop. She'll blow through the $40,000 and be back for more. I feel bad for Michael. It can't be easy trying to hold your temper talking to her. I'm not surprised he lost it. Unfortunately now he feels bad. -

Prompt 425 I never thought it could be like this.
LitLover commented on Timothy M.'s story chapter in Prompt 425 I never thought it could be like this.
I don't know about Victor but I loved this chapter. The two boys exploring the physical part of their relationship was extremely well done Tim. It was sweet and loving and hot. Nelson is a smart boy to realize that, although he has intentions of not rushing into sex, that when there are true emotions involved that it is going to be hard to resist so better to be prepared. That research can also be something they do together, which might sound smutty but isn't meant to be. -
Strong emotions can often tongue tie me so I can really relate to this song. Early on in our relationship I wrote love letters to my husband because I had such a hard time expressing exactly what I felt out loud.

Such a great chapter Gary! I completely understood Michael's fears. Some people don't easily accept children that aren't related by blood. It's sad but it does happen. The fact that Agnes and Carson didn't think twice about that elevated them even more in my eyes. I was touched that Big Mike knew that house and was already in love with it. It was fate that "his boys" were going to be living their I agree that this baby one the grandparent lottery. I am apprehensive about Carson and Agnes (well I would be if they are my parents or my in laws ) living in the same house as M & K but admire the boys for welcoming them so openly and wholeheartedly. I think Cadson is right though that they should wait until the space is ready for them so they have their own space (and so would M & K). Agnes is going to be over the moon when Carson tells her!

Because his guilt trip would give us all a new chapter from Tim...your guilt trip would have only been for you. His was for the greater good

I felt strange "liking" this chapter because I don't like that Adrianos wife died. I was expecting it but it doesn't make it any easier to read about. I really feel for Flynn if his was the truck that she hit. I know a truck driver who was involved in an accident where there were fatalities (children in that case) and he is still not mentality recovered. I also hope that this doesn't cripple Flynn's family financially. I don't really know how that works in the US but I hope he had health insurance of some type. It was nice of Doc to sheild his friends from this although I was relieved when he told Danno. Adriano is really going to need his support...if he stays in Washington after this. It's going to be a tough road for Adriano and the children but at least he will have those kids to wake up for every morning. They might be all that keeps him moving for a while.

I'm out of likes so I will have to come back and like this (and the previous) chapter later. You're writing is getting better and better with each chapter. It seems you are becoming more confident and it shows. The story in engaging and funny and your characters are interesting. I am excited to read more about their history with each other and how they got to the point they are now. Nice cliffhanger by the way . Now who is Elijah? There is some kind of history there.

I'm right out of likes again so I'll have to come back and like this chapter. I really loved it CG. Recapping his history with Mikey through his eyes was sweet and enlightening. Tim is right, Mikey was too afraid to consider them friends much less potential boyfriends while Jay was falling head over heals for him. The date was romantic and sweet and so like Jay. He is such a thought and tender hearted young gentleman. I'm not really surprised that Jay figured out Greg and Denny. He pays attention. And he pays close attention to those he cares about, like his family and friends. I hope it's something good (or just wanting to give Jay and Mikey some alone time) that kept Greg and Denny away I would hate for them to deal with another "relationship tester" so soon after the last one.

Chapter 4 Haiku- Slowly Moving On
LitLover commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 4 Haiku- Slowly Moving On
So much sadness but so much love in these ones Gary. Sometimes knowing you're letting go can be hard too. Reader was right, Mallory was a very lucky girl to have you and your family. -
Chapter 32 Four of a Kind
LitLover commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 32 Four of a Kind
This chapter made me very happy. I love that the four of them are becoming such close friends. I agree with Tim, it's fantastic to see Chet so happy because he was so heartbreakingly lonely before he met Kendall. With Kendall he found a great friend with Arron he found true love. My sappy soul is so incredibly happy for him. I have a feeling it won't be long before Arron and Chet are walking down the aisle M & K are going to be so happy in their house and it was really nice that Chet and Arron were able to be there to share that experience with them. I hope now that they have the house of their dreams that dealing with Candy until the baby is born won't be too trying for them, although I doubt she is going to be very nice to deal with over the next several months. -

Chapter 2 Haiku Odes to My Dog
LitLover commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 2 Haiku Odes to My Dog
Out of likes. Crying again. -
I'm relieved we have confirmation that Tommy is ok. I love in charge CJ I am pleased that the police force is at the hospital to support Tommy AND Pope, and are not just be there for a "fallen officer". There is a difference. I am relieved that Dr. Harding doesn't seem to be a match for Doc. I don't mind the leather and Dom thing, but I just can't see that lifestyle making Doc happy in the long run. Everyone else in the 8, besides Doc, is taken, so are they going to eventually become 10 (with partners) and General CJ? Now about these people that showed up at the hospital...last rites? Really? Who the hell does that without checking to see how Tommy is doing first??
