Crap - from one dysfunctional family to another! This makes Casey seem like the mature one in both places. Maybe he can be talked into baseball and put the whole bunch to shame. I have a feeling Casey and Lane are going to be seeing a lot of each other. The poor kid must have felt abandoned! Great story!

OK, this is moving along nicely so you win Tim! I was seriously unsure the original should be continued. You're convincing me otherwise. The characters are developing naturally, to the point where in a similar situation we would be concerned the son would not want to share his father, but here we see Peter might worry Michael won't let him share Patrick. It's certainly not a family which would have any of that kind of trouble. See - I'm already thinking of them as a family. Biggest problem is where to live! -
A very different story MrM. It sounds as it will be intriguing. Can't wait!

Thanks for the review Parker! Yeah, lots of things went David's way today. He needed some good news this week. The Putin/Sam plan for using SIN in an attack seems to be off to a good start, from the exchange at breakfast. We'll need to watch what happens, I guess. No matter what, Chuck's going to be sleeping over with Matty. -

Thanks for the great review Def! Liz probably spends all her time with Greg. She's never around - smart girl. Tommy has to be on Red Alert right now. He's too in tune with his brother to not be. Yeah, you can hardly blame Twoey, and Erik is handsome and willing, and Twoey has a history with him, and Twoey feels guilty as hell. -

and I guess we'll have to see, but seems like Matty prefers receiving injections. Chuck, you should not be getting advice from David. Maybe he'll let you borrow Vladimir. And another demotion? "that woman in house" Too much fun! Thanks oxala for another entertaining review! Maybe you should write the rest of 18 Weeks! While David is a tad clueless, he WAS a little on mental overload today. I'm surprised he could function at all! The woman who lives in his house seems to have lost every bit of humanity in David's eyes. Of course what those eyes actually SAW might have been a factor. -

Thanks Lisa! You're right. Sometimes David acts so mature, yet other times ...Grrr! It almost seems when events don't apply to him directly, he takes a more dispassionate and mature view. (Don't we all, I guess.) But if it's in the David/Twoey world, he has a certain blindness (or cluelessness). You also might be right about David misinterpreting Dr. Keating. Once again he could have been projecting his OWN question on the good doctor's. They do start young - yes. Around Matty, more so! -
Seems to be a story we'll be anticipating updates from Ron! There's enough, even in this overview/inro to entice me. Well done!

Your story is piecing together beautifully mitchelll ! It's like assembling a puzzle where the parts are even from different eras, but all somehow connect. This leads us to several erroneous guesses,and lots of mystery. Everything is really a 'cliffhanger' because we know so few facts we're certain of. The next chapter always promises answers but delivers questions! Very well done! Can't wait for more!

This is the second review I had to write for the chapter ...grrr! The first got lost in cyberspace somewhere ...grrrrrrr! OK let's see if I can remember my perfect wording. It was nice Zander could witness Andy's work from last summer and hear the praise from Eustace. There seems to be a slow rearrangement going on between the boys. I don't want to call it a power shift because power isn't what's going on here. Maybe vulnerability shift is more accurate. And I'm not even sure Zander is becoming more vulnerable. Maybe he was always so, but compared to the earlier Andy seemed to be more confident. As Andy has grown, in so many ways, this subtle shift is emerging. Incredibly well done Parker ...truly! Thank you for sharing Andy's journal!

Thanks for the great comments Def! You might be onto something about Steve. He was already worried from the last chapter. Introducing Toph to HIS family and then having Toph not reciprocate could have been read by him as vindication of his old worry. It's certainly possible. Toph won't easily forgive nor forget. We know that! Gary: take note!

Hey Lisa! By now you know Oscar is the writer in the TALON Tea club. He has apparently made an emotional connection with Toph. And he was the only one to hug Toph when the rest of the club was trying to convince him to go home for Xmas. Plus Oscar gets more important as we work through the year. Maybe Steve DID have his own reasons for going to the club. Which would imply trouble ahead.

Thanks for the insightful comments Parker. You certainly might be on to something re: Toph and forgiveness. I'm sure it's related to having lived behind shields his entire life, but he tends to hold a grudge. Steve - doesn't look good at this point. Toph's already built a picket fence.

Thanks for the comments Graeme! About the kiss. Normally kisses flow like Champagne, but by anyone's rules, Toph HAD to receive the first kiss. On top of everything, Steve's kiss with the half-naked boy Toph witnessed seemed more than a Happy New Year kiss. Trouble ahead? probably.

Rex! Thanks for the great comments and ...grumbles... haha! I think Gary knows. He's tuned into Toph pretty closely. About the Euphoric dinner. Somehow I have the feeling the only time we'd see Toph there is wearing a suicide vest. Steve? we'll have to wait < grumble > sorry.
