    @Mikiesboy I may have met my match with Sasha’s lemon squares, but I’ve gotten his strawberry oatmeal crumble bars down to a T. Just took the latest batch out of the oven. Turned out pretty well if I do say so myself… I don’t know if you do it this way, but I took to weighing the oatmeal mixture to divide it between the base and the crumble top “equally”. Early on, I found eye-balling it just wasn’t working for me.

    Having visitors next week, but no firm plans as yet. Probably play it by ear - and the weather - as to what we end up doing.

    Looks sooo good! My nephew love’s blueberries, so maybe I’ll make this for his birthday in August. Need to check and see what his mom is thinking of making, mind you. Edit: Just saw the recipe has nuts in it. Nephew is allergic, so unless I can make it nut free, it’s a no go. Will investigate alternatives…

    Thanks for the turmeric info. I don’t have that, so I’m going to not worry about missing a pinch of it. I just left the kitchen, so I feel what you’re saying. Ice water helps. Oh, and watching the bunny eat the dandelions - tenacious, they are - made me smile, because that’s fewer weeds I have to deal with. That’s one downside of all this rain. Weeds grow like, well weeds, and the soil is too wet to pull them out. Oh well…

    Yep, took note of that, so I decided this is a good time to try making the lemon bars again. For the life of me, I can’t understand the reasoning behind using turmeric in this recipe. I’ll have to ask Mr. Google later as it’s time for my next attempt at lemon bars. 🤞🏻

    I’d heard about this, but promptly forgot about, so thanks for the reminder, Starry. Sadly, it’s been quite cloudy of late, so I may not see much. Will look for sure, though. Edit: Rats, looked it up, and it appears only northeastern Ontario will be able - maybe - to see the lights. @Mikiesboy @MichaelS36 and I aren’t in the northeast, so it looks like we’ll miss out. *sigh*

    When I found out you were at Dan’s house my first (maybe second, it was a bit ago after all lol) thought was of you and gardening. I kind of remember being that is something you like very much. Weeding helps my mind slow down to the point it’s almost off. Not having to think or worry about “stuff” is a nice side effect of tasks like weeding.

    Yes it was, and I actually got some weeding done this evening before the big rain tomorrow. Figures it’s supposed to rain all day tomorrow when it just happens to be garbage and recycle pick up day. I feel for anyone who has to soend their work day in the rain.

    It’s only 70 here now, but earlier it was 73, but felt like 90 with the humidity. Soupy air I can do without. Hope it cools down for you, Starry.

    we had about five seconds of rain, and now the sky is clearing. The severe T-storm warning is still in effect, though. Fingers crossed it passes with a whisper rather than a shout.
