Good morning Page! A friend of mine here in Chiang Mai used to raise sugar gliders to sell as pets. They are so cute, but I don't think I want one flying around the house. Too many things to get broken. He did say they are very clean however. Not sure I believe that.

A group of men from a Carthera clan search the Amazon jungle for a cure to the unknown plague that will wipe out their entire clan. Carthera is a collective noun for all the different species of shifters, and this group are jaguar shifters far from their California home. Cavel is the group's Alpha black jaguar. He is strong and has been taught the skills and ideals of his position by his parents, but still has not found his mate. Bashta is an orphaned black jaguar who is the last survivor of a plague that wiped out his Amazon clan. He is the only one left who can protect the secrets of the Jaguar Temple and the lands of his clan in the jungle. How Bashta and Cavel meet, the adventure to rescue Cavel's doomed clan, and the difficult romance that blooms is a tale of danger, prejudice, love and unlikely alliances. Two of a Kind by @Cia is set in this unique alternate Earth where the Carthera and humans live in a tenuous peace together. Cia is an excellent writer who knows how to skillfully blend angst, anger, hope, love and humor to create a daring plot with gutsy characters you will love. It stands alone in the series, but I would suggest reading Bonds Unbroken first to understand this unique reality better. It is an excellent read. Enjoy!

It is a very happy ending with a beautiful baby for them to raise together and carry on the bond of the clan. Awesome story! Looking forward to then next. I bit late tonight, so I'll write my review tomorrow.

Sorry to say Clo, but disruptive siblings are just a fact of life. It's compounded when the have children. It becomes a ripple effect. "Hey bro! I want to take my wife on a week trip to Hawaii. Can you watch the kids for me?" Five kids, one week and I was one very tired and frustrated Uncle. 🤪

I love this new twist. The connections of your stories is very good and interesting reading. The tragedy that keeps haunting Bashta once again overwhelming him with sadness. Cavel is also having to be strong for him as well as his clan. Snake is a very interesting character and I look forward to learning more about him.

You mean the very overcrowded corners? It's already a dangerous place to be when @kbois writes one of her steamy scenes. She really needs to hire a cleaning service for the floors.

No gratuitous sex here. It's more like a delayed honeymoon that starts as .... Much more fun way to enter their new home together than the tradition carry over the threshold. Somehow I think the new mystery will lead to some dangerous people.

Right you are on both counts oh wise Dr. Paladin. Just reserve a big cage for Kah-gay and me with a King sized bed. I don't want Kah-gay to feel caged in. American and orgulous of it. Or should that be orgylous? 🤔

This is a wonderful and hopeful chapter. I do have to comment on the character arc of Saulle. Saulle was carefully crafted bit by bit throughout the story. That's a skillful piece of writing so subtly achieved.

As hard as it was to read the chapter, it must have been harder to write.

Sharing a cage with Kage in one of the ceiling corners could be fun.

It sounds like a magical beast out of a JKR novel. Something Luna Lovegood and her father would spend summers chasing.

The homecoming was very realistic, especially considering both the joy the people probably had about the cure, followed by the sorry for the delay. I am sure the wait time for the serum will be used by Bashta to help the people by examining the kitlings to administer the herbs. As he is doing that, he may also be able to determine who needs to get the injections first. Reading this story over a decade later and dealing with Covid, I am sure is a different experience for me than those who read it first. You wrote the crowd's reactions so very accurately.

The Temple meeting with the jaguar god was nicely written. I liked the fact that the god didn't seem full of himself and his power. The bonding was beautiful and the sex hot. I do prefer smoldering scenes with occasional sex when, the sex fits the situation as it did here. I also liked the requirement of return yearly visits. Bashta will need it to maintain balance in his new clan, and maintain his connections to his jungle. He also needs to fulfill his commitment to protect and maintain the Temple.

Thank you! The picture is what started this whole story in my head. I just had to create black jaguars to go with the image and the Carthera world allowed me the subtle shades of magic as well as the modern world to bring it to life! I'm glad you liked it. It's unfortunate that the picture you referenced is gone. I would love to have seen it. 😢

I like how their relationship has grown. Saulle's acting more like a friend when he reassures Cavel that Bashta will return. The dream story was so tragic, but the well in the Temple is intriguing. What kind of magic will they find in the Temple?

We all know Bashta's smart and had been trained well to survive by his mother. I find it hard to believe she would not have taught at least something about bonds and mates. Maybe he was very young and does not remember, but I also think he may figure things out soon. Can't wait for his reaction when the
