Journeys End is a very beautiful story of love, family and loyal friends. It is set in a unique universe with a great cast of characters. The author has a talent for creating excellent word pictures and empathetic characters you will enjoy. A great story to read. Do read Taken first to get the most from this two book series.

Word nerd time. I tried to look up the origin of flummoxed. It's use started in the Midlands of England about 1832, and is suspected to be a dialect word of the area. However, I also found this. Linguists are flummoxed where the world flummox comes from? WTF? I think the linguists and or author of this passage are being wusses here. 😁

Love the details given about the weyr and its inhabitants. Kadin getting to earn some money by playing his instruments is great. Everyone needs the beauty of music. L'cal is an asshole and I hope Bavi does ruin his clothes, all of them! The announcement has been made, and I hope that Jevikel will keep his mind open to G'dar. G'dar will make a great Weyrlingmaster. Jevikel will hopefully overcome his hold inhibitions and relax into weyr life soon. This is a great chapter revealing more details of weyr life. I feel a strong empathy to Kadin and Jevikel as they navigate their future in the weyr.

True that! I had to flee the cold weather and cloudy winters. Some regrets, but now I can contemplate them in a warm sunny climate year round while my friends complain about blue fish cold weather 6 months of the year.

Wow! Gary the poem is so powerful and elegantly written. The force of your words hit me and left me feeling breathless. I felt anger towards those that evilly attack the innocents of the world and try to enslave them. These two parts hit me the hardest. This is a very moving poem that leaves me sad and angry.

The search trough the house produced no results, but there are still many places to look. Kage and Elijah are definitely growing together. Their conversation was honest and is building up trust between them. Kage now thinks of Elijah as belonging to him. I think Elijah wants to belong to Kage. The idea of the computed containing more information about the missing half turned teens is a good possibility. If so I hope they find it quickly in order to free these kids. I wonder if Kage's boss knows the truth of what might be contained on the missing computer. As always kbois has developed interesting characters and relationships. I am on watch to see what twists to the plot she has in store for us. Very compelling chapter!

Taken is a very unique tale that is not for the weak hearted. Dale is a very nice young man looking forward to his future life on Earth when he is kidnaped and sent to another world to mate with an alien. Dale is illegally taken by Keyno as a mate in the Harvest by Keyno's planet according to a treaty with Earth. Betrayal, intrigue, love and new friends face Dale as he adjust to his new life. @M.A. Church has written an unique and compelling new world with characters that will capture you heart. Beware however that there will be many ideas and events that will be hard to read. I did enjoy the story, but the last chapter might be very difficult for some readers even if it is a happy ending. That is why I didn't give it 5 stars. It is a good story that I can recommend reading!

Nerd Time: Beholden is an English medieval term meaning obligation. I suspect that it originated as a term used by feudal lords and kings to describe their relationships in the feudal system. It is now used as a synonym for indebted. Ceremonies of importance such as pledging loyalty to nobles and kings during feudal times were done in public with many witnesses to confirm the pledge. The word beholden was probably derived from behold, meaning to see. The public pledge was the binding oral contract between the two parties delineating the rights and responsibilities of each to the other.

Garjah didn't seem to find anything to connect the crime to the Kardoval yet. However, the group that plotted the attack seems to be a bit like a fringe group of fanatics. The fact that the captured prisoner was able to force himself into a coma suggests that they have some interesting and powerful means for mind control. I do wonder if Garjah is aware of the special features of Ases' mech. Looking forward to what happens next. What does Essell need Ases' help to achieve?

Hi Bucket! I am not sure if they glow in the dark. The drops were to dilate the pupils so that they could do the tests and measurements for cataract surgery next month. My cataracts are to the stage that I can't see anything clearly even with my high powered prescription lenses. I am looking forward to seeing the world again soon.
