I really like Max. Who doesn't? Besides being rich, handsome, and good company he has a loving nature. Now you've added some sexy mystery he's become even more desirable. Is he an internationally infamous thief or an expert/entrepreneur of high-tech security systems? IMO the whole mystery is probably @Mrsgnomie throwing us a red herring. What does intrigue me is Max's reaction to Reid. Max went from laid back to outraged and then all business in just a few minutes. He and Reid obviously have a history long enough for Reid to be able to push Max's buttons. In all honesty, Max's rage didn't seem real. It was more like a show or at worst a testosterone fueled challenge. I'm left wondering what Max's true feelings are towards Reid. Reid didn't seem too upset or try to engage Max in a challenge. It could be a few interesting days until Reid gets back to Texas.

Well spoken @travlbug and I do agree with the Bacon! No nasty tasting potions or hard to swallow pills for me. I think the pups' recovery is a good start, but he also needs to feel he saved more lives than he ended with his treachery. In other words, he needs to kick butt in the coming battle with Huntington's army.

The big thing is that just when he doesn't want it to happen, he has finally found his Mate! Nice setup for the next chapter @kbois! Now I'm all angsty. To quote kbois, Honestly? I expected you to reveal this much later. You are full of surprises in this story my friend.

The description of the gruesome smell was funny though nauseating. The wisps are keeping their promise of helping, but when Beckett something is scarily wrong. Is @drpaladin right or is Valrinda's behavior due to something else? Why did Valrinda swing Beckett directly into the wounds? @Cia does leave us with even more questions! So evil author, when do we get some answers?
