i'm just vibrating! this story is so good, it's so hard to pick out just one or two bits to say "this, this was wonderful" i'd be quoting the whole darn thing! wonderful how the universe, fate, whatever you want to call it, brings people together isn't it?

the love and the longing in this piece is palpable. there are some very strong words in this that drive the emotion home. with some of those word choices it should, by all rights, make me sad to read this, but it doesn't. it's just full of love. i'm in total agreement with Michael Sir, this is the best yet. thank you so much for sharing this with us

there's a place where we can continue this

i don't write fiction, and poetry can be a struggle, but i do blog. my inspiration comes from life, my kids, my Husband, the news. i write best when there is some kind of "noise" whether it's a movie i've seen a million times so that it's just background noise, or music. my Spotify is wildly eclectic! i do find that what i am writing sometimes influences what i listen too, if there's a lot of hard emotion, then something with a heavy beat is called for. in fact, i've found myself hitting the keys in time with the music, LOL!

i do enjoy the way you develop characters! multi faceted, and so real. thanks again for asking me to be part of it!

that was very well done! the juxtaposition of the normal acts of everyday life, with the anger, and hurt was stark and wonderful! thank you for sharing it!

***it's not for everyone*** my kids shared this with me, not sure exactly why i like it, it may be the 80's vibe, maybe the surrealistic ballet being danced among the death and destruction it sparked a discussion about musical styles and influences, see if you don't hear Motley Crue, Van Halen, or Guns n Roses in it

one of my favorite parts of this story is the friendship that appears to be developing between Sam and Finn "Finny" it seems that it's a changing of the guard in more than one way. perhaps in the future, the heir of Sanctuary and the representative from Sam's people will be friends and working together more. can't wait for the next chapter. In a world where being safe means being alone on a piece of floating ice, and dead men are cached for food, is there any chance to recover your lost humanity? Perhaps, under the right circumstances, there can be. tim weaves a tale in this short story that explores that very question. he has the ability to write amazing detail in few words. Take a few minutes, and see if you don't agree.

i'm glad you decided to post this one i wasn't shocked when he killed the other man, though i was shocked, really, when he cached his "meat" that he found his humanity again made me glad, a ray of sunshine in this otherwise desolate landscape i hope to see more of your early works popping up from time to time.

oh Cassie, it does sound like a difficult time ahead your alarm clock story reminded me of our alarm clock story: Number One Son and i play video games together, well he plays and i watch for things that shouldn't be there and loot we should pick up. so there's a pretty scary game we liked called Dead Space 2, lots of fun, lots of scares, things, creatures jumping out at you. we had talked about that aspect of the game with the family. they all thought it was hilarious when we told them that this scene or that scene had made us jump. so one night, we were playing, in the dark no less, and all of a sudden this alarm started sounding, and we couldn't tell where it was coming from. i think i screamed! the hall light turns on, and there's my Husband, laughing so hard He's crying, holding an alarm clock. He had sneaked into the hallway, plugged in and set the alarm all without us noticing. scared the ever living poop out of me! oh, and He's done it a few times since then. so that's my story, hope it made you chuckle

this was very emotional for me Sir, and yet, i've now read through it 3 or 4 times. when i took the kids to Arizona last summer to see their grandparents, she pulled out the albums. when she retired, she spent hours, days, organizing them, about 500,000 photographs i think, lol! from black and white ones when my siblings and i were small, to some of the grand kids actually. it was bittersweet for me, to remember the happier times from those pictures to where we have ended up. this stanza especially: These discolored photos in my hands Are but mere illustrations in a storybook, Depicting the outer layer, the pretty version Of a much more divergent existence thank You for sharing Your words with us

15th-- on the window sill, above the kitchen sink live 2 picture frames. in those picture frames are 2 recipes, one i gave my grandmother, written in childish handwriting. the other, her recipe for "shake and bake" i can see the small blue portable typewriter she used to write them, it makes me glad that someone else has memories like this the 16th-- makes me want to hug the pain away the 17th-- i think that this is universal, Parker. you feel this way as a writer, me as a reader. "who am i to comment on this? why are my words important?" the18th-- the image here is very strong i can feel the cold (and frankly i hate the cold lol) the 19-- simply sending love the 20th-- my mother made us take swimming lessons every summer, and they were always at like 8 in the morning, this poem are those morning! the 21st-- recalls those moments when you wake, but not quite, because of something and find your lovers body warm and cozy next to you, and you fall off to sleep again oh Parker you are so good i say it often, but never want it to seem trite thank you for sharing these with us
