  1. Dean was hating the Christmas season. He'd been roped into working as Santa's aide by his boss, and he was just done with it. Annoying parents, crying tots, greedy kids—it was rapidly becoming too much. Until he meets Chase... and his irritation melts under Chase's Christmas wish.

    Chapter 1

I tried to put enough background in there so you could still get a sense of their newly-formed family without rehashing it all. I'm glad you like it! Thanks for reading!

    Chapter 1

It is hard in this day and age to totally trust and let go of your children, no matter how responsible they may be. We want to protect and keep them safe. I'm glad you liked it!

Lowering of voices is definitely usually a signal of eminent trouble... and Colt as a cop would assume the worst. So glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for reading!

    Chapter 1

After going to my kid's football game where they had called a 'blackout' that's when the idea for this story hit me--especially after I'd read an article recently about Blackout Parties. Misunderstandings galore! Glad you enjoyed it!

    Chapter 1

I think that moment is rather defining for Colt, as he worries about being a good dad. And especially after he just made a fool out of himself in front of Ryan's friend, he needs that reassurance that Ryan still loves him... Thanks for Reading. Glad you liked it.

    The Embers

Wow, what a mix of horror and love. While it was hard to read about how he was reliving his murder, there was the sweet ending of hope as he reunited with his love in the afterlife. Great story!

    Chapter 1

A riveting story, but what a cliffhanger!!! I can see why he'd make that choice, but maybe there is more to come and he's not actually dead and the 'beast' will actually save him? I can only hope as I like happy endings.

    Day and Night

Great story. I'm glad Luke didn't wither under Adam's harsh words and wants to fight for their friendship. But I want to know: what did the text say!

    Chapter 1

A bright spot in the middle of a blackout that signals despair--a sweet proposal. Well done!
  21. Oh, the imagery of suffering through a migraine was perfect. I loved that Bryce decided there didn't have to be a 'perfect' time to propose, just that he did. Lovely.

    Chapter 1

"... come on, dude, you have to go..." Colt paused as he passed by Ryan's door. He smiled at the voice of his son's new friend, Trent, from down the street. It had taken Ryan a couple of months before he'd even talk to any of the other teens who played basketball at the neighborhood court. Ryan had come a long way since he'd moved in with Colt and Shane, but he still had a ways to go. Colt knew Trent was a decent kid, having met his parents at several of their block parties.
