So, I like Mr Whitley. Please let him be the nice guy he comes off as being. Stefan/Eric is finally catching a break, I'd like it to last a while because he deserves it..
-
How sad is it that Stefan/Eric knows no different than to judge himself by his father's standards. He is what his father says he is. It is so ingrained in him, but we see that he is different. We need him to see that too. That trooper suspected something but Stefan was wily enough to throw him off. Who knows how he could have helped. Good chapter...

What I enjoy most in all of your stories is how organic the characters and setting feel. This is no different. I could almost walk into Elijah's Way tomorrow. I adore Kinney, he is such a character. It's good that Morgan may have a new focus that may enable him to start fully living again. I'm going ahead and including Beck in that focus too... And the dog, Morgan needs a dog.. Nice chapter Adi.

Chapter 22- Poetry Prompt 15- Waiting and Your Voice
Defiance19 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 22- Poetry Prompt 15- Waiting and Your Voice
Beautiful, inspired and heartwarming... -
"Jenson and Merrick, going on a mission." It won't be much longer Merrick, your vampire is breaking down. That was hot Lit! Well written. I didn't appreciate the douse of cold water though! I continue to enjoy the easy connection between Merrick and Jenson. Their origin/love story was kinda of really sweet. Does Kel have something to do with Jenson's reluctance and is Connor on to him and Merrick? I can't wait for the next chapter!
-
Aww, I want to know the story of Jenson and Kel. That was both sweet and sad..and I have so many questions. Everything Merrick says has a double meaning. "I'm thorough" " I give" even "later" is filled with promise. You know Jenson is squirming because he wants what Merrick is so eagerly wanting to give. The reasons he has for holding out must really be larger than just giving in to Merrick. That makes me sad for him even as I want him to jump Merrick already. Great chapter Lit...

Chapter 48 A New Player at the Table
Defiance19 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 48 A New Player at the Table
This was a great chapter Gary.. Seeing things from Nate's POV was a treat and you captured his thoughts and emotions so very well. His confusion and doubts about Bodie, in relation to what he thought he felt for Josh was clear and I was right there with him. Good thing he had Uncle Michael. Uncle Michael, who clued him in to Bodie's longing looks, and who swerved hard enough to give the boys that extra opportunity to touch. Got to love him. We also learn how much worse it could have been for Nate had he managed to go through with the box cutter plan. That hurt my heart. Nate and Bodie, I think is the start of a wonderful friendship. The kind that when this develops into a relationship, even if it does not last (I slapped my own head), they will always remain friends. Just my feeling. Im interested in how they will manage in school. If Bodie's friends even start anything, which I don't think they will. They pretty much iced out Bodie rather than taunt him, but seeing Bodie and Nate together and actually witnessing their connection, who knows what that will spark! So, we're adding a puppy to the family right? <insert sad puppy dog eyes> -
Week Five Thursday October 2, 2014: The Beginning
Defiance19 commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Five Thursday October 2, 2014: The Beginning
This was again, a well written chapter. We got to feel the solemnity with your descriptions from the very beginning, and it was as David felt - hollow. Another pebble dropped, widening the ripple in David's pond. How will he process all this new information. He's been running from his feelings forever and with everything that happened, it's just more reason to push them further away. I wouldn't want to entertain the thought that I was gay, if the results were Danny and Twoey. It's terrible what Danny went through. We knew it was not good but geez. I wondered if Carl could have tried harder and stood up to their dad to help Danny. It's probable that his hands were tied and I can only imagine how he feels now. At least Danny confided in him. I love the moment David and Twoey's mom had. She will be good for David. Now that David has promised to take care of Twoey, watching him build a relationship/friendship with Twoey is going to be most interesting. -
Week Five Wednesday October 1, 2014: Meeting Dad
Defiance19 commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Five Wednesday October 1, 2014: Meeting Dad
I wondered when David would go over to the house. I'm glad that he did. He ate too so yay! Why is Twoey's Dad there? I ask because even in the face of his son's tragedy he is still a jackass. He needs to go! -
Week Five Tuesday September 30, 2014: A Faint Day
Defiance19 commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Five Tuesday September 30, 2014: A Faint Day
It makes me so mad that the truth behind Danny's murder may never come to light, and it's mainly to protect a homophobic dad's image. Unless Twoey wakes up and blow the top off their cover up. Twoey, you are not allowed to go with Danny, sorry. David is suffering so badly. He lost 20 lbs without notice? Where is Tommy's mother. David is the classic subject for a teen suffering through depression or some other mental trauma. The signs are there if you are paying attention, but he manages his outward appearance and internalizes his feelings well enough that no one pays attention. I'm willing to bet that Tommy's mother suspects he might be gay, much in the way Sam sees it, hence her collaboration with the pastor from hell. I'm scared for David too. His own implosion is coming. -
Week Five Monday September 29, 2014: Riddles
Defiance19 commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Five Monday September 29, 2014: Riddles
Okay, so maybe don't put away the tissue box just yet. Twoey's conversation with Danny was downright sad. Damn it SkinnyD. Sam is proving once again that he is not unaware of what is going on with his friends. He is slowly shaking David's consciousness awake. That may be a good thing David might need him to talk to in the future perhaps. -
Week Four Sunday September 28, 2014 Unfulfilled Dreams
Defiance19 commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Four Sunday September 28, 2014 Unfulfilled Dreams
David did always say that his friendship with Danny was special we see more of what Danny meant to him here. I wish they were able to share what Danny had to keep hidden, but in the end I'm grateful that Danny had Twoey. These boys David, but especially Twoey will not be the same. Sudden violent deaths like this changes an adult much less teens. I wonder how those changes will show up. My heart is breaking...for Twoey's mom also. -
Week Four Saturday September 27, 2014: The End
Defiance19 commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Four Saturday September 27, 2014: The End
Shut up! Stop it..just no no no!! What the ever loving **** just happened SkinnyD? Twoey can't die, he's the story and his 18 weeks aren't up yet! Poor Danny though, Danny! oh how is David going to take all this... I'm reading the next chapter straightaway but I'll review after I catch up some more.. See you then, and I hope I'm a happy camper or else! -
Week Four Friday September 26, 2014: Delightful Deena
Defiance19 commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Four Friday September 26, 2014: Delightful Deena
Pray for David, really. That's definitely not the kind of help or guidance David needs. David is now further settled into life with Kathy, and he has the dreaded Deena's approval. Am I reading into Deena and Lani? Twoey is really falling for Danny huh? That's not sitting well, only because there's missing pieces about Danny. Hopefully we get that sorted out soon. I want Twoey happy not hurt but it comes with the territory I guess. -
Week Four Thursday September 25, 2014: Twin Exposure
Defiance19 commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Four Thursday September 25, 2014: Twin Exposure
It says a lot about Tommy's mother that she won't even attempt to talk to David. I tried that too in my house, emphasis on tried. That shit didn't fly no matter how right I was. Anyway, his dad is quiet too. Poor David, I'd dress in all black too.. He handled the Lanni news very well so good for him on that.. Tommy is a great little bro. Twoey should probably listen and not go to Danny's house, but no one says why really, so I get he shrugs it off. Only good things happened there for him. It's funny though how he thinks Lanni and David while David is thinking Twoey and Lanni. I don't know if he should spill to Lanni just yet, but at least he wants to be honest with her. David could take notes... -
And there we have it. Another little piece of him gone so he can eat, and he made some money. There really is no other way for Eric/Stefan is there. At least none that he can see right now. He is lucky he made it away from those truckers. That would have been decidedly unpleasant. Hope he doesn't have to do that too often, or any more...
-
I hope that Eric won't lose the part of him that still has a conscience and keeps him humble. It's a double edge sword because there are things he must do if he is to survive. Stealing is one of them, even when you don't want to. He doesn't stay long enough in one place to form any bond or trust. I get that he is in flight mode still. Yet I worry how much longer before he is to do worse than stealing strawberries. I don't want it for him so I hope a hand he can trust reaches out soon but it will be almost impossible for him to trust people. On the other hand, he got to have some fun with the boys, some light at least.
-
When will the stars align for Stefan. he is so selfless. In his weakened and hungry state he still finds the strength to give every ounce of what he really doesn't have, to save someone else. He deserves good things soon Parker, please!
-
Well that happened. Kid can't catch a break! Colin is an ass for lots of reasons. Who dumps their little sister in the hands of a stranger to get off in the bathroom. At least a few things came out of this.. He recalled good memories of being read to, and was able to share that with Maggie, and even tjough it's Colin's word, he knows not to trust Ozzie.
-
An AA meeting. That was not what I was expecting. Even though it seemed like a good place to tell his story you kind of know he won't, because he has no clue who thes people are and no reason to trust them. Could the guy who gave him the card be on the level? It sucks to be so wary of everyone..
-
I didn't have the wait between chapters, so the jump to present time threw me off a bit.. Lol. I have to say, Levi's fears are very well founded. Who wants to fall in love, only to watch that person die, or leave over and over. It's natural to want to get in front of that. Lucky for Levi, Matt understood and calmed him for now, but what of later. Will there really be an audition process for Matt's 'suck-cessor' hehe I had to...
-
Wow. Poor Levi and George. Having to cope through that long separation, and dealing with its significant effects. Levi was battling to stay strong and he did, so I'm happy for that. Hopefully George didn't lose too much of himself to the horrors of war. I was so glad this was not how we lost George, so that means there is more.
-
Aww, this was just so wonderful. I'm glad they didn't wait. It felt right for them from my POV as a reader too. George is new at this, Levi in a way too, but it's funny how George is taking the lead. He understands Levi so much better than Levi thinks.
-
Is Noel terrified? I imagine he should be, even though he is asking all the right questions to understand and maybe come to terms with the predicament he is in. How does he ever get to the place where he feels like he's in control of his life, his thoughts, feelings and actions. Nothing so far has been an accident not even his friendship.. I know he's special, and he was chosen- even that was out of his control. I guess I should take my cue from how he is handling this and trust him and you Adi, but in my mind I'm pacing, so maybe I'm projecting because I would be worrying about this to the point of destruction. That aside, and sad though it may be, I am completely taken in by the lives of the Serai, the backstory of Simon, Tristan, Luis etc., as well as the story
-
Never could have anticipated where this story would take me. I was taken over by emotion distraught for poor Sam, and then so happy and grateful he took the chance for love. I hope it is everything he wanted. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Beautifully written, totally captivating. Thank you Cynus.
