Just a beautiful story. Yes it's a little sad too, but it is wonderfully written.. The treasure hunt was touching. Thank you.

Aww.. I loved it.... Shirt and sweet, but I felt like I knew the characters. The mistletoe was a nice touch!

Absolutely a wonderful story. So heartwarming. You had me at Chase, who is adorable. Dean is more of an angel than an elf, opening his home and his heart to Tony and Chase. Well Done!

First, even given how I feel about David, how can anyone not love him when he says things like, "All the perfumes in Arabia...." and then pleads with Minerva to fix him! Lol. That boy's clearly on another level. Since this maybe the first time David sees his dad as clearly standing up for him, it's not so hard (this being David), to believe he really thought hips dad didn't love him. Not speaking up was a sign that he agreed with his mother.. I hope Gramps continues to turn his ear.. That was however, a lovely exchange between father and son. Kathy? Whoa, girl. She doesn't even know what she just did. David's cleansing was priceless! Nels better be embarrassed, he is one third responsible for this train wreck. Twoey is ready, Ginny will tell him what happened and David will be there! This could go a couple ways, none of which will lessen the sadness and hurt I fear will happen. Still, I can't wait to find out. Wonderful chapter SkinnyD!

Wonderful story and what a beautiful surprising end. Josh and Isaac showing up the day before is a great compromise. Loved this...thank you.

Chapter 39 Vacation in Hiding
Defiance19 commented on Parker Owens's story chapter in Chapter 39 Vacation in Hiding
I'll risk repeating everyone when I say, what a sad holiday Andy had. Still though, he managed to give his spirit a little boost by figuring out that snowblower. Now he's invited to a party. I am hoping for a fun time for him. Fingers crossed all goes well. Hopefully Zander stays close the whole time.. Thanks for another well done chapter Parker! -
Merry Christmas to you Tim, and Michael too. This was a lovely poem. Just beautifully said. I hope we all can recognize and focus on our every blessing.

Nate and Bodie are boyfriends! A new pair.. That was the sweetest way to ask, and the best birthday present. I felt for Josh too, seeing it from his side. Kids have it rough, and the survival instinct kicks in. Josh's choice hurt Nate and he hurt himself too, but it didn't cost him their friendship. For that he should be grateful. If it hadn't been for K&M, Nate wouldn't have been at the point he is now. So even Josh is reaping the benefits of that.. I hope he tells his mom though, she sounds like she would be ok. Mark too, did a decent thing in apologizing. He's learning. I always want want to just chill with this family. Great chapter Gary!

Tanka- Another Victory
Defiance19 commented on Drew Espinosa's story chapter in Tanka- Another Victory
Love the imagery. The poem comes alive. You're doing a great job flexing your poetic side! -
The dirty doc came back and now he's dead.. Couldn't have happened to a better guy. I feel badly that Noel had to even go through that, but it was great to see him tap into his powers when he needed it most. I wonder how much help he had with that. I hope it's Diarmand there to save/help him.. I am willing to give Andra the benefit of the doubt, but she's a McGill so I'm not trusting her too much yet.. So, I'll try not to wear my nails thin waiting for next week... Thanks Adi.

Week Seven Friday October 17, 2014: Matty Notices
Defiance19 commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Seven Friday October 17, 2014: Matty Notices
This chapter had me cracking up a bit. Of course Matty is a jackrabbit. Literally! Before I even knew he had a POV, I figured he would not have missed David's chubby. This is Mattie after all, and that knowledge is all the encouragement he needs to move his plan forward. Twoey is getting better so yay! I definitely think knowing something is better than keeping it from him, and don't seem to be able to delay it much longer. Twoey and David talking... I know not what to think! I'll be picking at my cuticles until the next chapter. -
Good job Drew! From what you've said, you'll be exploring writing poetry a bit more, so I will be anxiously awaiting more... I'm really glad to read a different form from you..

Chapter 2 Honor Thy Father
Defiance19 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 2 Honor Thy Father
Wow Gary. This one hit me a little hard. Your anger is so palpable and, rightly so. I appreciate you letting this out and in doing so letting us in. That's a brave and bold step. It is a pity that those memories don't die too. You may never forget, but you are a better, better, much better man than he ever hoped of being. And you got there in spite of him. That in itself is a testament to the kind of person you are. You radiate joy and pride and love in every story, no matter how simple, when you talk about your kids. They are lucky and blessed to have you as a dad. In our short conversations you've shown so much kindness and you give of your heart. I know it's not just me, so for many of us, we are honored to call you friend. I'm glad you're here, that you are you. xoxo -
Poetry Prompt 5 – Rhymes and Couplets
Defiance19 commented on Mikiesboy's story chapter in Poetry Prompt 5 – Rhymes and Couplets
Those were both really good. I have to say though, wrapped in a fur lined rug, bonfire going, long underwear-less with an extra body, ain't quite my idea of discontent... I especially liked how Cast Out ends as it starts out so desolate. You can almost feel the surprise mixed with joy at the end. Always a great job Tim. -
We really do forget that charity begins at home. Next door, in your neighborhood, if we just care to look and reach out and do one small thing for someone in need. The rewards I agree are indeed a thousand fold. Thank you for this very well expressed sentiment Tim.

Noooo.... This can't be it! Awesome story Cia. What a way to go though, even if it was the best choice not knowing what he was facing. I really enjoyed this, and if you decide somehow on more I'll be ready..

This was a beautiful love story. It's the little everyday things that tell, and in Bryce's darkest moments Kevin couldn't show us any better how much he loved his partner. And you know Bryce would do the same. Their love for each other was so evident. The ending was perfect. Thanks for this story Renee.

Nice take on the theme. No way was I thinking ghost, amnesia maybe. That was a trip. I was really caught up in him trying to remember, wondering what all the details meant to him. Even criminals need love, so I was happy he and Dom get to be together in the end. This was good.

Great exciting chapter Lit! The mystery continues and a threat looms. How did Flauros get to Alect-3? Do the Alectarians all know, because someone has to know they're there. Why is another story. The good thing is Jenson and Merrick have to work together, and after that close call, Jenson might be a tad bit more protective. Love the undercurrents amidst the action.

It was nice reading about these guys. You know that eavesdropping and overreacting to what you're sure you know, but is so wrong - I know this well. I swore I wouldn't be that way. Then I swore I wouldn't do it again.. Parenting is teens is rough. Colt and Shane seem to be doing well though. "Dad's a good guy sealed the deal." then Colt's reaction. Heart melted. Ryan is a gem. Great job CM, As always.

Chapter 38: Christmas Eve
Defiance19 commented on Parker Owens's story chapter in Chapter 38: Christmas Eve
This simply warmed my heart. Andy is such a special kid, he deserves to be this happy. It was such a pleasure to read this chapter. I wonder how soon Zander will clue in that the journal entries aren't fiction, or if Andy will trust him before then and just spill it all. In any event, it was a beautiful chapter Parker, thank you. Tuesday can't come soon enough! -
This was a wonderful follow up SkinnyD. I like the way it's all unfolding. We're getting to know Toph at the same time he's figuring out who he is. He's a pretty interesting character, and I don't think he is as invisible as he thinks he is. I look forward to the next.. Well done!

Last time we had a hurricane blackout here, I spent 9 nights playing board games by flashlight- just throwing that out there! It was good to catch up with those three. If I remember correctly, after the horrible stuff happened, they ended up celebrating Thanksgiving. This time, a hurricane brings two castaways, and they are well on their way to building a little society. More to celebrate next time around! Well done Carlos, I enjoyed it.
