Peddlers used to travel around on wagons selling merchandise, operating like a mobile general store. Many of these ended up with their own stores. Some even ended up with chain stores. These days all you need to be a peddler is internet access. -

Lugh has been part of the lives of many different members of Mildred's family and assumed who knows how many forms. Regardless of form, Lugh's capabilities remain constant. I don't believe Mildred would expect them to keep the house unchanged and she can change it back with a mere thought. Nothing about Lugh needs to be static.

I think it was already established Huntington had particular ire towards the ones who relieved him of his property. Once he found out who, the game was on. It reminds me of what Tony Accardo, boss of the Chicago Mob, had done to the two idiots who burgled his house while he was on a trip to Miami. It wasn't quick or pretty. It was a statement of raw power.
