    No seconds for Trent. He was a bit dull witted. The fact the goblin wasn't fazed there were three of them should have given him pause. IMO no great loss. Time to make tracks or for Simon to be all he can be.

    More like German cinema rather than Hollywood since it was Nosferatu which started the trope. In Bram Stoker's novel, Dracula could walk in sunlight, but couldn't use his powers. It's only by accident copies of Nosferatu exist since Stoker's heirs sued and won a copyright infringement suit and all copies of the film were ordered to be destroyed.

    I'm troubled by Mac not telling his parents. Why doesn't he want to tell them? I know Bill won't say, but is this secret another one to be revealed if/when they find out?

    In other meanings, the moon has a dichotomy when it's half illuminated. When there are two ancestral lines which are separate and divergent, this is a dichotomy.

    It gets more confusing since ravish can also mean rape. The words ravish and ravishing (of unusual beauty) come from similar but different words in Middle English; ravisshen and ravyschinge respectfully.

    They are transitioning to being back home and into a new normal. Teaching Mac to change into birds and fish will have new challenges to face. I can imagine learning how to duplicate gills while in human form could come in handy. If an entire tribe became skinwalkers, it would fairly quickly be devoid of females unless they were added also. It would certainly attract notice. A whole flock of very long lived individuals would be hard to manage and hide. Secrets can be hard to keep in families. I hope this one doesn't come back to bite Mac in the ass.

    We naturally use our thumbs for so much and it seems right to use the palm and fingers to grip and the thumb to find the pulse. It's the most common mistake people make when learning to take a pulse.

    But he didn't show him exactly where the pulse could be found or warn him not to use his thumb. The directions were very general. It was a ploy so Jubal would feel comfortable holding on to Lucas.

    So many relevations in this chapter. Xavier feels Kandric's third dragon kill and it reminds the group of the god, Rovnar. The amulet Lucas wears magically reveals the image of his mother holding him as a baby and Mablin is able to discern Lucas is a direct descendant of Odin and Greysac. The legend of the magical weapon hidden at Lucas the Lost surely gives them a new destination to their travels. They have reluctantly accepted Syth must pretend to be a gladitorial slave for them to travel safely in this time.

    It's something which can take one of two paths; it can poison one against religion or make it a personal thing. Jubal didn't let his Pa's version spoil his own spiritual connection. There is the old saying, Figures never lie, but liars figure. Well, evil people read religious texts too, and interpret them to suit their own evil ends or thoughts.
