This was an excellent read. The plot was well crafted and we had characters both to cheer for and revile.

Nothing like being shot at and having your family threatened to quell any lingering doubts over shooting back. When you misplace ordinance as lethal as rocket launchers, you have some severe inventory control problems.

Someone in North Korea neglected to disarm the SAMs in the same way they have troops parading with empty guns. I knew Tom and Brad not calling for backup right away was a bad idea.

It should be noted internments began during WWI with German Americans. German Americans and Italian Americans were also interned during WWII, though in fewer numbers than the Japanese. This was more out of practicality than desire since the numbers would have been in the millions. Unlike the Italians and Japanese, German detainees have never been given an official apology.

The worst part of this is we know this is really happening there now.

We see the problems of a group giving commands who don't understand the technical side of battle capabilities and it's wiping them out.

Excellent tension and pacing. The Chinese are going to get hit hard. -
Fast paced just as it would be in a shooting war. I'd say Seadragon should have taken out her targets before they reached their firing point.

I miss Carlin. Lithium metal is more reactive to water than metallic sodium. I remember some of us getting the sodium from the high school chemistry lab and throwing it into the lake from the back of a speedboat. It was like being chased by a mortar down the lake as the explosive reactions kept hurling it back out of the water. -
Texas, Louisiana, and California represent 59% of US capacity. There are refineries in 30 states, but distributing it without those primary producers would be a logistical nightmare, plus most of the imported crude is refined there. This is about to get extremely nasty.

Eagle Rock sounds like a fortress with its three foot thick concrete walls, but those RPGs will go through five feet. They got lucky there at the end. -

I can see how Mac can do this with no training. It only combines abilities he's already learned; copying what you see, becoming larger, and getting furry. He already should have the humanoid form 101 down pat.

I doubt Tom's dad anticipated all this traffic in such an isolated place.
