I suspect this is only the first of many missions Thorvil will send our group out on. They are too valuable a resource to just sit around. Snave himself said he would no longer be content to always stand by the shop door.

Agnosia and agnostic derive from the same Greek word for lack of knowledge, ignorance. -
Right now they are all focused on the threat and immediate future as they should be. Jamie and Garvin have vague notions of returning to their quiet life at the shop. Jamie, being the humble and unassuming boy he is, will very likely do just that, even though he has become the Master Mage of all Mages in ten or so days. Much of what he's learned and done will need to remain a secret.

If magic completes as a sympathetic and cooperative process between energy bundles, no wonder it takes so much more power to translocate a whole group. It's in getting a big enough wave generated at each end. If they can create a blanket to muffle the magic so there is no wave, it would negate magic. The big scary is the ancients seemed knowledgeable as to how magic works. How much do Porvus and Lodda know? This could be the key to victory or defeat. I hope this is something the Oracle couldn't answer.

The ability of the shields is limited by their own knowledge. Smells aren't blocked as we've seen, neither would be agents.

I believe they are now a match for any magic attacks launched against them, even from Porvus or the vaunted Lodda. I don't believe we've seen all of the ancients weapons yet. One thing they are still vulnerable to are airborne chemical or biological agents since the shields pass air.

Our Jamie is on the threshold of discovering the true nature of magic. It can only unlock more wonders and power. Of all of them, it was Bastyin who destroyed the battle bot with a new magic spell of his own. Didn't see that coming. And it was this awesome force which led Jamie to his epiphany.

They will follow Jamie's lead, but he would listen to Dorf and Dorf would say stick to the limited goal plan. A lot more is involved than simply releasing them and the bad ones would have to b e killed on the spot. The fox doesn't go into the henhouse and try to take more hens than he can carry.

It would have been unrealistic for the Father to support Jonny's methods. Christianity defeated the power of Rome with belief rather than by sword, even though there is a time for war. You rarely get a holy sanction for it.

The thing about staying and trying to release more mages is a timer is running on a counterattack. How many would die? Probably close to all.
