    Chapter 9 S1

I know I'm not normal. I've always been able to split my concentration and distractions have never bothered me. I could read for comprehension, watch TV, and listen to a stereo at the same time. It dumbfounded everyone.

    Chapter 9 S1

The ass kicking term was figurative. Devin hardly did anything to the guy, but technically it was assault and menacing. The guy doesn't appear stupid so he might have a 'Come to Jesus moment' from a simple demonstration rather than direct action. If my class has ever had a class reunion, I've never heard about it. I know where most are anyway. The most likely to succeed guy has been dead for decades and his female counterpart is the widow of a billionaire. I'm not cutting her, she was actually a very nice girl.

    Chapter 9 S1

People can change some over time, but my experience has shown it tends to be rare. The guys I know who were dicks fifty years ago are still dicks, some are dead dicks.

    Chapter 9 S1

Devin's 'I'll tell you later' routine gets old quick. For bullies like Mr. Rude, running into a little guy who could kick his ass would be a better lesson. I doubt Devin's ability could accomplish that miracle.

    Chapter 9

You imagine a dog will play a part in an adventure orchestrated by a cat?
  6. The word was in use in Shakespeare's time, but somehow The Taming of the Termagant doesn't quite make it.

    Chapter 9

I'd suggest he click his heels three times, but he has no shoes. No sign of Margaret Hamilton's sister or a house to drop on her either. To be fair to these inhabitants, Beckett is a mere human. I frequently find them tedious myself.
  8. You learn something new every day. I thought it began with a B.

    Chapter 9

Beckett is home in a tree, but not kissing, not yet anyway. His dream was a little off and his bed is no bird's nest. These creatures are taciturn. Once Ire got him to the house, he was done with him. Let's hope his guide is more helpful.
  10. Those who are visiting or near Montecito, CA might plan a visit to Ganna Walska Lotusland to see the botanical gardens the opera singer created over. four decades. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotusland
  11. One of my favorite Rush songs.
  12. In Homer's Odyssey, they encounter a land of lotus-eaters, and any of the crew who ate the fruit forgot their homes and only wanted to remain and eat the fruit.
  13. Unfortunately, since scientists depend on grants both public and private to fund their studies and research and access to those are heavily weighted toward those who adhere to the current narratives in vogue, any citation claiming X percent of scientists believe anything is virtually worthless.
  14. If you want to stand out, be the only kid in high school with a sable fur coat. I'm fairly sure when the Davey Crockett coonskin hat craze was going on, I was likely the only little boy with a mink hat.
  15. I am so happy to see this new chapter. Dani is still awash in mysteries and uncertainty. He will need full control of his abilities sooner rather than later.
  16. From this point on, whenever I hear the beginning of Nessum Dorma I will hear 'Oro-tun-do' in my head.

    Chapter 6 S1

It's just as well. Sam Beckett never went home.

    Chapter 6 S1

I don't know anything at all about Ant Man. I only know about Aunt Man.
  19. It's also the perfect setup for a joke, since it's where you end up when you get caught indulging in it.
  20. Or the punchline of a joke.

    Chapter 5 S1

Yes. As I said, it's not applicable to all species of them. And the immunity isn't for all snake venoms.

    Chapter 5 S1

All possum species aren' immune. Honey badgers, hedgehogs, and squirrels have immunity.
  23. You'd be surprised how often people ask me about things like this.
  24. Interestingly, it will dissolve in hydrofluoric acid. This is what Walter White used in Breaking Bad to dispose of bodies. Don't try it at home. A.) It won't reliably dissolve all organic material. B.) It's a toxic, contact poison. The fumes would be absorbed by the skin using the inadequate protection shown on the series.
  25. He named it this because he found its resistance to reactive acids a tantalizing problem.
