As I was feeding one of my infant grandsons last night, I couldn't help but think of you and another gay couple I know who are expecting their first child via a surrogate. It's amazing how much love there is in the world especially for children. It's hard to believe that so many grow up unloved. You just told us about two who were likely not loved. Of all people, a judge should never use poor judgment. And what loving person would ever attack another's reputation just because they can?

Hmmm. Is this the end of the story? I don't know, John. I have a question for you: Are you superstitious? Would you write a story with 13 chapters? Coop and Mich had a difficult time with the sory of Coop's past, but by the end (of the chapter?, story?), they were dancing to a different tune.

Kind of sad, Andy. All is not well. Will Jason and Peter get back to normal by the story's end? The chapter started in a lighter vein. The picture of Wendy going Christmas shopping with Jason's grandparents was hilarious.

Chapter 44 is great, Andy! What a surprise Pop had in store for Jason and Peter. Unfortunately, Peter is still struggling with the same demon that could ruin his relationship with Jason. Will he ever get over it?

Great show. Seems very realistic to me. Jason Clarke is a great actor; really liked him in Showtime's Brotherhood.

Another great chapter, Jack. I understand some readers don't like sex scenes; this chapter has one. Evan seems to have a problem. Well, he has several, but one in particular which shows up in this chapter. I don't want to ruin the chapter for other readers. I'll only say be sure to read Evan's musings following Kris' departure...maybe read that section a second time. Do I have that right, Jack? I don't think Kris gained much intelligence to help Rob.

Sales and use tax laws vary all over the place in the various states. I have to pay our astounding 9.25% sales tax (we have no income tax) on online purchases if the seller has a physical presence in Tennessee. So, if I buy a book from Barnes & Noble via the internet, I pay the sales tax because they have retail stores in the state. I can buy the same book from Amazon at a lower price with no sales tax and, sometimes, with no delivery charge. Guess where I buy books? Now enter the politicians and bureaucrats. Amazon has announced it will build two distribution centers near Chattanooga and employ 1,500 people. The Tennessee Department of Revenue has announced that all sales by Amazon to Tennessee residents will be subject to the sales tax. I know who will win this fight. No one. Tennessee will not get the new jobs and Tennessee will not get the additional tax revenues. Everyone loses...that's only fair, right?
