I voted yes on your first question, IMO, If you are asking, it meens that you are interested in this matter, so why not start a blog and even better a topic in soapbox ?
I voted no to your second question. Hate crimes are an expression of all the violence we find each day in newspaper, TV and so on.Enough is enough. If I want to fight against it, I have other channels to do it than GA.
I just want to say, once more, how I appreciate this story. I didnt read any chapter in the last 6 weeks, but had the pleasure to read as a whole the last 10 chapters. Wow,as usual, CJames is surpassing himself in this last chapter .
Sometimes, the best thing is just to say that you share his sorrow, but even better it is to say nothing, just to stay with your friend and to hug him.You can say a lot without speaking any word just to look in his eyes with yours. Silent communication is often the best.
BTW, my daughter died at 43 6 years ago and my eldest son at 56 last year. But to lose a little child is certainly worst.
The most important of this blog is to take it as an example how to learn from mistakes. The same for today strategy; but we are not in a "war mood", diplomatic skill is more important than military power.
BTW, I should bring a similar blog about D Day of the landing June 6, 1944, the day of the Normandy Landings, and the mistakes of the preparation on Omaha Beach.
Hi Mark,I just came today on your blog. I was ROTFL about the comments and even the blog itself.
I'm old, an old liberal and even an old anarchist. The good side of old age is memories of the younger years, to remember how you were and to hope that something remains from your convictions and feelings. The only thought I earned and learned : everything has an end and as elder you get as quicker you approach your end. So the best way to stay fit (minded I mean !) is to listen to young people and dont cavil with them. Old people have a lot more to learn from young people than the contrary !
BTW thanks to your visit on my profile .
Hey Mike, sorry to have forgotten your Birthday . But I think it's still time to wish you to go along for many happy days.
I hope you are and will be for a long time HEALTHY, WEALTHY AND WISE as you really are !( wealthy I dont know, but the two others I'm sure) .
Take care of yourself

I could answer Conner with the same humor but on my side I wont become personal as he does. I'm not a Censor and I dont care a damn for being one. IMO, every author can write what he likes here, its just my right and will to read it or not, or at least to give my opinion about his work in the forums. My problem ist strictly a legal one and has nothing to do with censorship : can GA remain open also for minors without formal restrictions or not ? I infer from the lack of answer from Mod that this problem, once acute, isnt it no more. I'm happy for that, and BASTA.
I just enjoyed to read the last chapters of "Savage moon". Comsie is one of the best .I cannt hold on to bring here one of the best paragraphs I ever read in his stories, the description of John Boy :
"Precisely. Amish boys and girls...looking for an answer. Expecting their religion to provide logic and reason for maintaining some sort of moral compass. Praying that it will save them. Salvation through a few rehearsed words and forcing themselves to look at the morbid statue of a tortured prophet one day out of the week. Promising themselves something more in an existence that they're hoping will be better than this one. Trying desperately to justify their purpose for being here." He told me softly. "But in reality...only WE are the ones living in the now. Only WE can experience paradise with our eyes wide open. Without the fantasy. Without the falsehood"
I never met people of this kind, like John Boy, in my life. But I would , just to be able to discuss his faith with him :sword:.
James, I like your humour. These rules are stupid. There are much more people with hepatitis than with HIV and thats has nothing to do with gayness.
I was a donor myself during years, but I stopped when these rules were decided.
BTW, the blood collecting organisations here in Switzerland (Red Cross) give the blood to private laboratories which sell it to the hospitals. I dont like this commercial aspect, which came public when the laboratories increased their prices and the hospitals (state owned)complained in the newspapers.
You can find a good example in the litterature : The Count of Monte Cristo (French: Le Comte de Monte-Cristo) is an adventure novel by Alexandre Dumas, p
James you are a wise man. I quite agree with you. You have to prepare your revenge the same way a General prepare his war : define the objectives and a strategy, make an inventory of the possible actions, estimate the costs (not only the material ones) of it, and think of the blow-back which could happen.
As we say in French : "la vengeance est un plat qui se mange froid" (revenge is a dish to be eaten cold). That means that revenge is a long term action. Fortunately, I had in my life very seldom occasions to apply these principles. But when I did, it worked ! Not to forget a main point : when your enemy is on the ground, try to forgive and make clear with him (or them) why you had to it.
And sometimes its better (it costs you less time and anger) just to forgive and forget .
Trying is always a good thing, so you know what you can expect.BTW, its not the same clubbing with a friend or going alone. I wish you good luck for the next time, if it will be a next time (?) .
When I was in an age to go clubbing (long time ago), I tried several times, particularly in foreign towns, where nobody knew me. It was almost always a disappointed experience.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMES !
I wish you a long life full of many many happy days, and as I said in my blog, pluck the day and dont worry about the time passing.
Your blog is a provocation .
I know both liberals and conservatives who are ready to discuss their opinions with fairness and understanding for the opposite opinion.
BTW, I'm conservative in economic matters and liberal in politics
Checking my profile, I found some information I dont understand :
REPUTATION 4, NEUTRAL.
Can somebody tell me what it means ?
Thanks in advance.
Old Bob
I dont think they are a lot of French members under us . Anyway, as a former French (son of a frenchie), I thank you for your whishes.14th of July is just an occasion to follow the french troops marching past on the Champs-Elys
Yes, we should keep it.
What I like in all the changes, its that I oblige me to "learn" again the options of the old site and to "discover" all the possibilities of the new one .Its a welcome exercice for my "old brain", which is not so old as I succeded and appreciate the changes .
Davey, from the various DO stories from DK. What I like is that he was able to live, if I remember well. about more than 200 years in his differents lifes, getting each time young again, with the memories of all his pasts ! The nice part is not to become young again, its to have so many memories to remember, and meet each time the same friends and the same partner. I envy his destiny .
Ouroboros ?
The Ouroboros often represents self-reflexivity or cyclicality, especially in the sense of something constantly re-creating itself, the eternal return, and other things perceived as cycles that begin anew as soon as they end. It can also represent the idea of primordial unity related to something existing in or persisting from the beginning with such force or qualities it cannot be extinguished.
Carl Jung interpreted the Ouroboros as having an archetypical significance to the human psyche. The Jungian psychologist Erich Neumann writes of it as a representation of the pre-ego "dawn state", depicting the undifferentiated infancy experience of both mankind and the individual child.
We are all the Ouroboros's children, symbolic of the eternal return... young for ever,as I said in my profile
