Same story with the French commandment in Summer 1940 at the beginning of WWII : wrong appreciation of their own power, lethargy, to great self-confidence. Its always a well known experience : to win a war, you have first to lose and pay a great amount of blood before you will be able to win. If you win the first battles too easy, you will lose the war (see Vietnam !). BTW, did you read an old book : "on the psychology of military incompetence" , by Norman.F. Dixon, edited 1976 at Jonathan Cape, London ? Its really interesting, ans suits well to your blog.

So I dont care if you want to find me in it .Try and tell me the results So I am who I am, and my blogs say enough for anybody to learn to know me, the real me. About what Graeme told us about his difficulties to getting used to his current persona...dont worry, its the same for all of us, young and old. Good luck from a man who went through prostate cancer (total removal 14 years ago and then a few years later radiotherapy because of cancer relapse) and is still living healthy, just checking his PSA once a year. Dont be afraid if it isnt a lab error, it's just the sign that you become more "mature" (I alloy me to laugh about it, because humor helps a lot, as I experienced it.) Evry word of Mike's comment is gold. I couldnt have say it better ! In my own experience, if you agree with it or not, there is always a frontier between the one who has to take the decisions and the one who has to obey. The extremest example is to be found in the army. The high rank officer who send the soldiers to death from his command post and the sergeant who conduct the soldiers on the battlefield dont speak the same language.The best officers are they who are former sergeants, they speak and understand both languages. BTW, I'm one of them

I cannt advise you from just the "encrypted" informations you give us . IMO(and experience), nothing better than alone in your own office! and BTW 1, you should more concentrate of the work you have to do than to play chess in form af a "kriegsspiel". I can imagine you will be appreciated by your results and not by your flatteries to the "king". BTW 2, you say : "there are several kings in your company", which one is the most important ? Wonderful post Thomas I like the way you wrote. You should try ro write a story here. I'm sure a lot of people will enjoy it. Nephylim is right, you have to hear with your heart. Past is always here and nothing is gone. Just relax and listen "inside". I am a "town boy", traveled a lot but now I'm living in Geneva (Switzerland), in town but in a quarter surrounded by green parks with very old trees, not far from the lake. I enjoy the mix of birds singing and the "noises" of children in the schools in the neighborhood. Noise is "life" and it's the proof that I'm still alive.

You are making big steps toward your goal : accepting yourself,choose to be who you really are. BTW, to find the right one is a long way, with good and bad experiences (believe me ) Dont give up and trust yourself, that's the pleasure of life not to know what is expecting you in the future And most of all words : good luck

I wasnt on chat when you were there. Here just my comments to your blog. I you want to know more from my own experiences, pm ! I suppose I'm the eldest in GA (born 1929). I'm bi and knew it since I was 14. I accepted it very soon and came out only to some chosen people. I married at 23, had 4 children :2 still alive (53 and 46, the youngest who is gay), a daughter who died 7 years ago (AIDS) and my eldest son who died 2 years ago, (heart attack, smoking too much).I'm still with my wife, who also accepted me as I am and we are both happy to be together. Till a few years ago, I lived happily two lifes (an open one, straight, and a more hiden one, gay, with a few friends). Looking back the last 57 years, I dont regret anything and all my memories are happy ones, even the bad times I had sometimes to endure. My only advice : know who you are, accept it and enjoy your life, all your life, the good and the bad days. Old bob

Similar events happened also a few years ago in my country . The court condemned the responsibles with prison and penalties. I hope we will hear about of the decisions of the Court in Ca.

James, dont be so sad. I quite unterstand what you went through (your story explain it) but if you think you are disposable, then we are all also. When you will be at the end of your life, as I am (You will be 45 in July, isn't it, that means that you have at least 40 years to enjoy), you will understand that the real meaning of the word "disposable" is "ready to die".Wichever your faith, your friends, even your love, you will leave it and disappear, as so many did and will do. Ascona, near Locarno on the "Lago Maggiore". see details Between Locarno and Ascona, there is still today a beach where you can stay and swim "in the nude". I went there several times a few years ago and met a lot of gay friends .

I was 3 years old. It was in the south of the italian-spoken part of Switzerland, on a nice beach, where my mother let me play free . I suppose such a freedom is no more familiar today . I came to GA april 2006. It will be soon 4 years ! All these discussions about the chat are like a disease which come back regularly, like the flu in winter. I remember about four times, with ever the same arguments pro and contra and the same apprehensions from the GA Staff. As usually, Chat goes away and comes back. It comes back because it belongs to GA, it is an important part to learning each others better. I'm not an "hectic" participant in chat. Mostly I come in to follow the discussions and to try to discover the character of all these friends I like to read their stories. Just these few words to support Nephylim and express my hope that Chat will be back soon. Edit : I just checked Myr comment : In economic matters and cost problems, I dont want to interfere ! But perhaps a same solution like with "premium" could be introduced ? When you want to go to a theatre (and chat is one ) you have to pay your ticket !
