Thank you for this chapter. It’s good to see new generations on the horizon. CJ and Owen will be amazing parents - most kids wouldn’t be able to keep up with them. Watch out, world.

    Sunbeam

Like @Thorn Wilde, I like the word serendipitously in the middle line. It's a lovely poem. Thanks for sharing it.
  3. Adi, I’m enormously grateful you read these. I really appreciate your taking time to respond to them. The bee poem turned out to be a favorite of mine. I’m so glad you liked that one, too.
  4. You are very kind in your response to these, Gary. I’m glad you liked them and happy they continue to strike a chord with you. It’s awesome these lift up, amuse and offer you a sense of care.
  5. Thanks very much for reading these. I really appreciate knowing your reactions. Some came easily, others not so much. Number 16 owes its repetitive line to an old hymn, but the questions and responses are mine.

    Chapter 12

I’m so relieved by this turn of events. I’m counting on a fuller explanation in a following chapter, but for the moment, our friends are reunited and readers can breathe in relief. What was this horrible operation all about? And who of the plotters is still at large?
  7. April 15 The world is full of melody, the brook, the bird and bumblebee, the poplar creaking on the wind that groans in perfect harmony. Each sings a tune none can rescind: the wolf that howled, the goose that dinned the marshland or the reedy lake cannot be silenced or chagrined. Fall rains which thrum when I awake keep time with every step I take through puddles like the cymbals’ clash, till warmth gives way to ice a
  8. You are a compelling storyteller. You make good choices as a writer, and that’s what makes the story. Not everything you have to tell will agree with everyone. Why should this be a revelation? Yet to some limited minds who can’t take in new thoughts, it’s apparently far too radical for you to write the unexpected. I applaud you, and pity them.
  9. Happy Saturday everyone. Getting ready to sing tonight ... and quiche is in the oven...

    Acceptance

This chapter was wonderful. Caleb finally gives himself the chance to discover happiness with Wren. And Wren discovers a new world of unselfish love giving himself to Caleb.

    Expectations

Neither man can admit that “time to think” means exactly that. And thinking may help both men come to the place where they can admit the other into their lives. You are bringing the tension and love between Caleb and Wren out beautifully. Loved their morning wake up.

    Day 16 to day 20

Soul Searching had me pondering ideas that sound perilously close to theological engineering. Minestrone has my mouth watering. I very much liked you limerick concerning bees, too. It made me smile. The Witch, and The Bug are both excellent; Witch drew me in, line by line. Bug packs a lot into its short span. Thanks for these terrific poems.

Thanks for lots of things in this chapter. For Michael and Blaine, of course; but more importantly for the steadfast and unflinching care CJ brings to Brad in Alex Minsky. I enjoyed the many other scenes, but these stand out to me.
  14. I know what you mean. I’ve been smacked in the head by my songwriting muse and what there is just pours out. Don’t we all wish creativity always worked that way?
  15. I don’t recognize the tune, but I fear that may not mean much. Great song. You will record it, right?
  16. This is a great chapter, and what a wonderful appearance from Patrick! He created a lovely card. Now let’s hope Theo will get the right message...
  17. You are most kind. Thank you.
  18. Thinking about Notre Dame today. I have an ancient recording of this (full of the hisses and pops of early LP's), but here is a newer version...
  19. Good morning, everyone. Fog is lifting here, and there’s sun and blue sky on the other side... That’s happy news, Thorn. I’m smiling with you.
  20. You’re awfully kind to make your way through all of these. Your words are very generous. I think my personal favorite of these is April 13, or maybe April 11. Thank you so much for reading these and commenting on them.
  21. Thank you for vivid journeys and wild flights of fancy. Holy Peek-a-Boo Policy made me smile. I recoiled at Misogyny, as you might have guessed most readers might. I can hear and see everything on your Hike. Would that I might have been there. A very good week!

    Dissonance

I enjoyed this chapter. Charles did so much for Caleb just supporting him, and in helping the enterprise on Beecher’s farm. More important, Caleb managed to put things right between himself and Wren. Later, maybe they can talk about that kiss.

    Day 11 - Day 15

The Prompt poem struck a chord with me. I enjoyed floating on the Canale in your gondola, overpriced ride though it may be. Your cats poem speaks succinctly about felines; and the way you write about November is awesome. Azure Perimeter is an adventure to read. Thank you for writing these and sharing them with us.
  24. Oh, I like this. Alligator is such a great animal and word to have chosen.
