    Revealed

"We need to talk," Graham said, seriously, coffee in hand. He looked up, startled. Then he swallowed hard at the words. We need to talk. Over the past day or two, Graham had been quieter than usual, reflective. Once or twice, he had caught Graham looking at him speculatively, as if looking for an answer. It had made him uneasy. The tall researcher was a man who often reasoned and mused aloud. He has noticed Graham’s silences, and wondered about them. The previous evening

    The Poet

tim, this is an awesome story. I completely agree with Bucket, Alonzo is clueless. You make that clear in that Evan wants success on his own terms. To be told by a successful writer that your writing is good is such incredible affirmation and encouragement. Hugh's question goes directly to my own heart, and to other writers' hearts, too: "you ever think that they were telling you the truth?" For those who have no status in professional writing, to answer affirmatively is unthinkable. Beautifully honest, and encouraging. I really want to know more about Evan, though. Someday, maybe? Please?
  3. Perhaps your math teacher long ago should have been a poet. Or a musician. Or a builder. Sometimes I think math language is surreal precisely because we keep it locked up in a special box used only for mathematics. But I am so very happy you took the trouble to understand these; my heart dances for that, too.
  4. I shall not give you detention, but a ruler and compass for drawing. I am happy if these at least change your perspective on mathematics from 'impossible' to 'amusing.' Thank you for bearing with me when I gabble on about numbers and maths. It is such fun to put that language into a wholly different context.

    At Play

Scott will have much to thank Marc for. But for now, it is Graham who had fully captured Scott's heart. For him, Scott would go to very great lengths, as we have seen.
  6. Thank you, Spike. Math language always gets left behind even though it can say quite a lot. It is fun to use it unusual contexts.
  7. Blame Drew for these...he was inspiration. Yes, tres mathy, yet fun for geeks.
  8. yes, indeed.
  9. Pain, leavened with pleasure, makes this a poem whole meal. I devoured it. What most strikes me is the vacancy, the emptiness behind the eyes... for your words capture this clearly, even as the speaker could not buy anything more than time.

    The Beach

Oh, such a dream, such a vision, such is the stuff to make a tapestry of life from...exquisite, and a splendid ending, too.
  11. And my hat is off to you who, tried to make sense of these!
  12. Imaginary Numbers Imaginary numbers vex my next door neighbor (call him Tex), and others who will not believe things insubstantial (they perplex). An explanation, by your leave, is due if over math you grieve for numbers tangible and real; Cartesian planes will grant reprieve. The system, though it seems surreal, will swap the Y for i, and deal with hybrid quantities as plots of vectors, should that thought appeal. Your ca

    Lame Duck

Awesome story. Loved the extra twist at the end! Great plot, and the harpoons thrown at some figures who must not be named...

    Chapter 1

Incidents like what happened to Ben can happen if school staff or parents or friends aren't vigilant enough. This chapter is a clear call to look out in compassion for those trying to fly below the radar. Ben and Sam have each other, but it would be a whole lit better if they had a community at their back.

    The Reunion

The pairings are so sweet, and the joy of their discovery..or rediscovery...is a truly wonderful thing to behold. But now I feel so badly for the others whose mates are yet to be found, who don't get to experience that incredible joy. Perhaps there is something the alpha-pair in the persons of Kellar and Tobyn may do. But the malaise must surely be dissipating, as the packs come together. There will surely be joy in the north woods.

    Urge

I 'like' this in solidarity and support, even as I want to support and console. I cannot prescribe, but I offer you a shoulder and hand of friendship, and perhaps the knowledge that this searing poem is going to stick with my consciousness for some time.

    Chapter 24

This is becoming a favorite story with every passing chapter. Jackson is so very vulnerable underneath his exterior, and Luke is becoming ever more confident. Kudos to Jackson for thinking of riding; kudos to Luke for their kisses; kudos to you for all of the chapters so far. Now to find a way to pacify Cindy when the inevitable happens...
  18. Parker as matchmaker is an interesting twist. Matt must breathe just a little easier. He knows just his attractive his boyfriend is. But it must have been hard on Parker to know he was going to be hit on. Perhaps the foreknowledge gave him time to devise a strategy. I have often thought Matt was very lucky to have Parker, and this chapter confirms it.

    Chapter 13

So much intervening time, and yet, no time has passed at all. But this time, Marty and Hrishi might just make something more than a single together...maybe a whole song cycle. But that is for a future we are not privileged to see, but which we might be able to imagine. Very nicely completed. A fun story to read, especially for mathy type people...

    Quodlibet

If it echoes in your head, then I am deeply grateful and happy. Thanks!

    Quodlibet

I am glad you liked these two. I hoped their rhythm would be intriguing.

    Quodlibet

I am very glad you liked Tango so much.Parts of it simply appeared whole in my brain. The dance is exactly what is happening, in many respects. And chant was singing in my head, and had to be written down...Many thanks for your very kind response.

    Quodlibet

Or perhaps just a roll in the snow...I am glad you thought them good.
  25. Tango What dance is this, whose steps I tread, with movements of my hips and head; my shoulders swinging, hands made free, as by your knowing smile I'm led? Was this the Tango meant for me, that makes you full of mirthful glee to bend my body over so, and turn my heart without a key? Am I an able partner, though; my visage flushed and all aglow, I've tried to match you, move for move, but on me will you smiles bestow? And so may I your equal prove, to give and take while in
