    Chapter 9

What a wonderful man Corey is. Understanding, patient, generous and immensely kind. What tough position Liam must be in. His heart seems bound to Alek, whether he likes it or not. Does Liam really have a choice? I once thought so, but it seems he cannot command his heart in this matter - he likes Nathan, but could he be angry at the paramedic if Nathan moved on? I doubt this. Liam is still angry and confused with Alek because he still loves the man. At least, so it seems to me. And so I wonder if Liam really has any choice at all.

Thank you so much for continuing to read the story. Glad you like it to this point.

Thank you. Hope the story continues to engage you. I think it would be hard for Scott to revert to being the predator, now.

Yeah. Scott is definitely someplace he's never been before. It's exhilarating and scary, too. Thanks for reading further into the story. Too bad there isn't any real rigging for them to sit in; but they seemed to do fine at the bow of the ship...

"What's going on with you, Wally?" Cookie threw out the question as breakfast was being served. The older man wore a smile, but it was a challenge, nonetheless. "Who, me?" he volleyed back. The Purser shook his head, but retained his amused expression. "Yes, you. See anyone else this morning with a shit-eating grin?" "Just glad the storm is over, I guess." Cookie made a face and sound somewhere between a snort and a raspberry. "Storm," he scoffed, "that wasn't much of a storm, Wally. More li

    Chapter 1

I am glad you liked this. It was meant to be quite short, but it suddenly ballooned beyond my plans. I really wondered about how shifter predators would feel about stalking shifter prey. Could they do it? Is there some sort of taboo? Plenty of questions for exploration here. But not in this story; thanks so much for reading, and for your response.

    Chapter 1

Thank you so much for reading this story, and for your very generous words. Isaac had to find his mate, and it wasn't going to be an alien. It was fun using Roswell as a sort of red herring. And I am very happy you weren't put off by the pun at the end.

    Chapter 1

I am intrigued by the story. Who wouldn't be? Especially since I kind of know that part of the world you are writing about...you describe the place beautifully as an epitaph. So what in the world of New England's jostle for position and place sent Drew Kohler to the bottom of his tub? Will be looking for more...
  9. But Emi, will I know it's you?
  10. So very sad. You write this with an easy, almost delicate touch. The last line makes it all so real. One can imagine all the big questions about living space and schools and cars, but the small things like cerebral bowls will be there right away.
  11. Huzzah for the move! And even more, for the love that seems to be motivating so many of the characters you give us. This is a great chapter, fulfilling the hope Keller and Tobyn brought many times over. I really liked the impatient Arthur...he knows more than most what his spirit craves. Of course there are some deep practicalities to be overcome, but perhaps these ca be left to Elinor and Clarence. Can't wait to see the mated packs...many thanks for this and for all the wonderful chapters to come.

    Chapter 1

Isaac did the same to me; I could not let him go at all. I am glad you found an immediate bond with Isaac. It is interesting how his loneliness made him both fearful of and deaf to Adam's calling. Neither will be alone anymore. Thank you so much for your generous and lovely review,

    Chapter 1

Thank you, Gary. That you could get so deep into the character and story is very satisfying. You are so very kind and generous in your encouragement. It is good when inspiration comes out well. Isaac was a fun character to write, despite his desolation. Again, thanks.

    Chapter 1

A duck shifter was new to me, too. Isaac was a great character to work with. Thanks so much for your encouraging remarks.

    Chapter 1

I am very happy you liked this, and that it was moving. The prompt was a stretch for me. Your words are most kind.

    Chapter 1

I am glad you liked the paragraph you quoted. I confess to having felt the same way as Isaac. And then I couldn't avoid wondering whether a shifter-predator would kill and eat a shifter-prey. And how would that feel for the predator? But that's another story, I suppose. But the idea of a lioness apologizing to a duck made me smile, too. Thanks again for your generous thoughts.

    Chapter 1

You make me smile with your remarks. If this story took up a bit of room in your heart, then I am very, very happy. Many thanks.

    Chapter 1

I am unused to the shifter/were-creature theme; inspiration was long in coming. But the song of the loon is unique and unforgettable - it was that sound that got the whole thing going in my mind. Thank you for your very kind thoughts.

    Chapter 1

Isaac was nothing if not terribly, bitterly, lonely. How could he not be nervous and uncertain? It's that tension I hoped would come through. For the moment, Isaac has found a mate, and the dawn will smile on the pair. Many thanks for your generous and kind encouragement.
  20. Parker Owens

    Chapter 1

Your generous thoughts are so very kind. Glad you liked the story; once it got started, I couldn't seem to stop it. The final pun just had to be there. And I imagine that Isaac and Adam are probably, um, ducking, even now...
  21. Parker Owens

    Chapter 1

The shifter theme is not one I ever considered, and then I got stuck with it. I took a very long time to get inspired. And then look what happened. It was a fun story to write, once it, um, took off. Thanks so much for your kind thoughts and reflections.
  22. Parker Owens

    Chapter 1

Thanks very much for your kind words. Glad you liked the story, despite the final (and irresistible) pun.

    Chapter 11

You write scenes of passion and sex so vividly, it is almost difficult to see Marty and Hrishi grow as persons around them. Yet they do. It is very, very, good. Good for Marty in handling Leon's intrusion as well as or better than I expected. I agree with Carlos, too: the last line was perfect.
  24. Oh the lives of captive fish! Beautifully told!

    On Vacation

Wonderfully imagined and executed, This tale has the demon come to real life, and gives us a taste of the damned, for whom love is a perversion. A beautiful tale!
