I have to agree with my fellow commentors that this was indeed a excellent chapter. The ideas and movements of the characters says a lot about what they are going through at the time. I’m inclined to think that this is the way the country might take if the events of the story were true. I don’t want to be the one to stand in the way of our military and our National Guard either, as it very well could be them who are called into active duty to help stabilize their areas so that the people have some where to go to for food and warmth, along with the spiritual camaraderie that will happen when these people are brought together in their time of need. I appreciate the fact that Mr Jacobs has chosen to have the Continental Congress meet again tomorrow afternoon and that way he has the opportunity to meet with the military commanders who are in Huntsville to not only bear witness to the proceedings but so that when the new president is chosen he would be able to meet with them to get an idea of the status of the military as it is at the time. As far as Henry and Dylan accepting the request for them to join the regular army as non commissioned officers, I’m extremely glad that they have the opportunity to prove themselves as regular military members and not just cadets under the command of Mr Jacobs. They all have a very tough time ahead as they try to get the country back into a good working way.
-
I hope that the storyline is going to stay focused as it has. The way I see it is that the two young men Henry and Dylan are growing up in the hardest way possible, they’re growing up during a great crisis in the world all because someone wanted something that someone else had. Even though Mr Jacobs is the pastor of the local Baptist church he is also a Colonel with the National Guard who has been called to active duty and after a few weeks of working in the church doing data entry and trying to locate family members for the people who came to the church to get help, Henry and Dylan both were asked to come with Colonel Jacobs to the base of operations for the National Guard to see if they could help them out and get them up to date with their data entry work. When they get there they wind up getting outfitted just like any other recruits they would have, included them in getting uniforms, boots, underwear, and then a haircut, ID badges, and a security clearance equal to the Colonel without anyone noticing that fact. After some time there they actually have the data entry caught up where another Guard could take back over and keep it up. Both of them have done a lot of growing up since the crisis began and they have been growing in knowledge as well as they’ve been through rigorous training both military and college courses where each of them has their strengths and weaknesses. Now the Colonel has been offered a promotion to a one star General, and the family has to move to Sacramento for the Colonel’s new assignment. I wish them luck. Great story

Beware of Laughing Blondes
Butcher56 commented on dkstories's story chapter in Beware of Laughing Blondes
I’m not religious at all but I don’t think that a church has any right to take advantage of the people of their town, city, or village, in any way shape or form. To me it seems like the time has come for those people who the pastor has the goods on should start doing something that would help him and his church but he would still hold this over their heads. I’m glad that Henry and Dylan are friends because they can help each other out and still do something to help with the people who will come to the church for help. Great story so far and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the story. -
Chapter 104 The End of the Rainbow
Butcher56 commented on Dodger's story chapter in Chapter 104 The End of the Rainbow
I’m sorry but Nathan does act a little girly at times with his painted nails and the makeup. Nathan seems to think that he’s the object of affection everyone wants only like Robbie said about most people wouldn’t find him attractive, if he would cut back on the femininity he might find that people would want to be with him by people I mean guys. Robbie was right to say what he did to Nathan about him not being attractive because he puts on too much of a feminine side of himself which causes people to not want to be with him. Then after they get out of the cab and Robbie told Nathan that he acts like a girl so much that I like boys. Blokes. Men. Males. Not girls in make-up and frilly dresses.” I knew that comment would irk him, but he really needed to be brought down a peg or two. It was the first time I dared to do it and I was surprised by how easily the words flowed. That got to Nathan and when Robbie started walking away from him he got mad and demanded that Robbie get back and talk to him otherwise he’s going to be sorry, that statement just made Robbie walk even more, then when he’d gotten to the end of the block he turned around and Nathan was already inside his house and the lights were out. I don’t know what to expect from them now but I don’t think they’re going to be a couple much longer. I know Robbie doesn’t want Alex as he was accused of by Nathan. -
Great chapter. It seems like Kohen and the Captain are becoming closer. I’m glad that they were able to stop the captains cousin from causing anymore problems than they had already. It’ll be interesting to see what happens to Ellard after the paralytic wears off, he might get brought up on charges or something else will happen to him. I’m glad that Kohen and the captain are not hurt, hopefully the crew are safe and uninjured as well. I’m looking forward to reading more about Kohen and the others.

I’m glad that Sebastian has made the deal with the Australian government about a private residence for Lewis to get away from the work and be able to relax for a while. I think it’s great that Sebastian made his feelings known for Lewis even if it was in the form of a letter. I also think the invitation to contact the twins if he needs a break from the hustle and bustle of his work as Administrator of the Chagos Archipelago along with Christmas Island where he might be able to have them take him for a cruise for a day or two depending on his work load. It would be nice to have Sebastian and Lewis get together and see if anything develops between them if the story were to continue. This was a great story I enjoyed it quite a bit,it was very very well written, thanks for writing it. I would like to see a sequel to this story where we can see how Lewis is doing in his new assignment and how much he is able to do with the Wagner family and also see if he and Sebastian get together. I’m interested to know how long Lewis will be on Christmas Island as the Administrator of the IOTA and Deputy Administrator of the Chagos Archipelago.

You’re forgiven, it’s got to be stressful for you to keep track of everything you write and then go read the comments about it, then you have to keep writing so you don’t get to far behind.

From the sounds of it the Wagner brothers have come up with a great plan to help make the islands of the Chagos Archipelago more convenient to tourists and business people as well. Their plan is to offer three flights per week for each of the three islands on charter jets that will be owned by the Wagner Family corporation, each jet will be business class jets and reconfigured to carry 16 passengers their luggage as well as 2 pilots and 2 flight attendants, the family will also make any upgrades that are needed at the airports. The Wagner Family Corporation will also build more hotels if need be to help with tourism to the islands in the Chagos Archipelago. I’m sure that the shires will be keen to get the help that is needed to get tourism going again especially on Christmas Island. The official arrival ceremony went well and the speech Lewis gave was short and to the point. I’m sure Lewis was surprised to see Jeremy walk in behind their sister, he told Lewis that he was only there for 2 days. I’m glad that Lewis is going to add Jeremy to the guest list for the official dinner that night. I have a feeling that Lewis is going to have to do quite a lot of work in the first few weeks of his new assignment. I don’t know how many times Lewis will be having to be a magistrate to help with the load of cases that the regular magistrate has. I hope that Lewis is able to get some time to relax and not be working all the time as that will get old very quickly. I also wonder if Lewis will still be able to continue with some duties as a project manager for the Wagner corporation. Great chapter as always quokka!!❤️👍🏻👍🏻😀😀

I’m glad that Lewis is getting settled in at the Government House, and his staff is getting settled in although Mrs Masters has said that they may have to import a housekeeper from the mainland, other than that minor issue everything seems to be going well. It was sneaky for Sebastian to arrive on a giant ship instead of the yacht Huron, if I’m not mistaken the ship is the same one that Lewis was working with the twins on. I’m glad that Kylie made it finally and that Lewis’s sister Margaret has come as well, Lewis already had the Staff Sergeant add them to the guest list along with Sebastian, Louis, Joachim, and Wyatt along with the other official guests. There’s still been no word from Jeremy yet I hope that he and Mitchell are alright. I’m happy that Sebastian has agreed to let Lewis & Kylie stay aboard the ship and then get them over to the naval frigate before breakfast so that they can have breakfast with the senior officers aboard the ship. I can’t wait to read about the official arrival ceremony and then the surprise in the final chapter of the story. Amazing chapter

Lewis seems to be getting quite a few surprises in a short amount of time. First he finds out that he was awarded a knighthood, along with two other medals that was before he even got to Christmas Island. The call Lewis got from Kylie was to let him know that the transfer she requested was approved, and he jokingly said that she was going to somewhere boring like Canberra, she said that she was being transferred to be part of his administration staff. Once he arrived there he tried to be just a tourist for the two weeks he had planned, that didn’t last long,I think it was a few days at best before he decided that he wouldn’t be able to be a tourist any longer. Lewis showered, shaved and put on one of his new suits he bought before coming to the island, then drove to his new residence and office, before he got to the front door Mrs Masters saw him she greeted him with his title and all, knowing who he was after he went there right after he got to the island. After his tour of the building and the laundry building with it’s two bedroom living facility, when Lewis and Mrs Masters came around the corner and heard voices and saw Captain Watts and Staff Sergeant Lister who both came to attention. After showing them around and then letting them know that there were some things he wanted done before he starts officially, as he was leaving the captain called him to let him know that the official welcoming ceremony would be in four days. Once Lewis was off the phone with the Captain who is know the private secretary to the Administrator. He went back to his villa he is staying in after making a cup of tea he called Kylie and asked if she could get to the island before Monday morning and he then informed her about his request. She said she would see if she could get a seat on the flight out on Saturday. After that call he got a call from Sebastian who told him that he knew about his new assignment and his new title and awards. Sebastian told Lewis that because of the work he did before he left that the whole project was going well and that the twins were loving living in the house they bought and working on the project that they had hired Lewis to help get it off the ground, when Lewis asked Sebastian where he was he said that he was on the yacht because he wanted a break from work. I hope that the Captain is able to arrange a helicopter to take Lewis and Kylie to the ship that was coming for the official welcoming ceremony for the new Administrator of the IOAT. Another amazing chapter, I hate to see what else the government will want Lewis to do, I have a feeling that this might turn out to be a longer term than six months.

What else is Lewis going to have to do while he’s the Administrator of Christmas Island and now he’s expected to become the Administrator of the Chagos Archipelago along with Christmas Island. The next email he opened was a complete shock to him as he’s now wanted to be the Magistrate as well as his other duties. I agree that the Major should be sent back to the mainland especially since he doesn’t have the respect of addressing Lewis either by his rank or his title, I’m sure the Captain will make a great asset to Lewis’s staff once he takes over his duties. I think it’s terrible that the invaders made such a mess of the island where it was a very beautiful place before they came and destroyed so much forest land. I hope the call from Kylie isn’t bad news as Lewis still hasn’t heard from Jeremy yet. The thing that I would like to see happen when Lewis takes control is that he has something done about the roads that were made for the Indonesian people who really shouldn’t be there. Another amazing chapter. Thank you Quokka for writing it.

Looks like Lewis is doing the tourist thing and his first stop once he was able to get a four wheel drive vehicle to use during his two weeks before he takes his new assignment. It’s great that Jeremy was able to get the accommodations in his name for Lewis. I thought it was funny that when Jeremy did the proper bow to Lewis Mitchell wound up rolling around on the floor laughing. I don’t think he’ll do that again if they’re ever at a formal meeting or something like that when he’s required to do the bow as well. I hope the treehouse is still intact after the army left it. Hopefully it’s still a secret to everyone else on the island. I’d hate to see it destroyed by the army or the invaders. I feel sorry for the federal officer who detained Lewis because he had a newly issued passport and he also had his medals in their cases in his briefcase. I’m glad that Lewis had the officer call Kylie because after he told her that he had Lewis detained she came straight there with two senior federal officers Lewis new that the officer was in deep shit for acting like he was going to be able to lock Lewis up for having a new passport and his medal cases all because the officer was suspicious. Lewis was given a formal apology for the actions of the officer which he accepted, and he was able to be able to catch his flight. Great chapter as usual, I can honestly say that I have a great respect for you writers for the work that you put into each of your stories.

Wow it seems like every time Lewis has to go back into government work he gets another award. Now on top of everything else he received a knighthood award so he is now known as Sir Lewis Shaw Baron of Rottnest, KCB, CVO, VC, SC and the DSC. The way it’s going he’s going to have so many letters after his name that he’s going to need to get a duplicate ID just so he has enough room for all of the initials. It’s a good thing he’s going two weeks early just so he can see first hand the damage done by the invaders, based on the pictures he was shown there’s extensive damage to the island. At least by him going early as a tourist without being an official visit he can get a good idea of what he’s going to have to do get the island back to almost preinvasion standards. I’m sure he’s going to have a tough job trying to get everything done, hopefully while he’s there he can get to the treehouse and check it’s condition and then let Jeremy know what shape it’s in. I’m hoping that he can get to the treehouse without being seen by someone. I’m glad that he was able to spend some time with Jeremy and Mitchell while he was in Perth getting ready for his trip to the island. Another amazing chapter as usual, I can’t hardly wait for the next chapter to be posted so that I can see what happens next for Lewis.

This was another interesting chapter, Lewis is sure on top of the things that he has to get done for the sports field and the ship. I’m glad they came up with the idea of extending the sports field to be able to put in a fifty metere pool put up a two metere high garrison style fence for crowd control for concerts, seal the driveway, parking, put in curbing, move and expand the skate park. This is all pending council approval of course. Louis and Joachim have put together a proposal for the airport to lease and manage it for twenty five years with an option of another ten years where they will put in six million dollars worth of improvements. Louis and Joachim came up with the idea of putting parks on the two blocks that they purchased on Cotworthy Street. The idea of not putting the ship on dry land was an idea that the local Shire Council came up with at their staff meeting. Lewis, Louis and Joachim went to look at the area that was suggested by the Shire, they decided that the best place for the ship was at the end of the jetty as the ship would be better in a storm in that area. They have selected the company to start the work at the sports field, they also informed the company that the Wagner Family Corporation will buy all the materials per the architects specifications. I would venture to guess that the two weeks before Lewis leaves for the Christmas Island are going to be very busy. Love the story.

I’m glad that Lewis finally got ahold of Jeremy and Mitch and spoke to Jeremy about making travel arrangements for him to get to Christmas Island under an assumed name two weeks before he is to start his new assignment on the island. Since he was going to Christmas Island Jeremy asked if he could check out the Eco Lodge and the Treehouse as well if possible. Jeremy is going to text Lewis with the details for his flight from Perth to Christmas Island and the name it’s under, also his place he’d be staying at during his two weeks of vacation as an average tourist. I’m glad that the twins were able to buy a house for them to live in while Lewis is doing his work for the government. When Lewis met them at the plane they had a lot more luggage with them as well as another person who Lewis knew as well as worked with when he was in the Mediterranean. The first thing Wyatt said was that it was to hot and he wanted to go back to England. Lewis greeted him and welcomed him back to Western Australia, they got everything loaded in Lewis’s vehicle and gave him the address of the house all of them would be sharing, Lewis drove to the address he was given only to find a vacant lot, he started to back out of the lot and got honked at by another car, he then pulled back into the lot and parked at which point he told the twins that they could help Wyatt carry all of the luggage as he wasn’t going to order Wyatt to carry it all. Another amazing chapter.

Ellard did make a fatal mistake in figuring that Kohen would just blindly follow him and also allow the captain and Deke to be injured or killed. I love how Kohen was able to fool Ellard by the way he raised his hand by making Ellard think the hand he was raising was his dominant one. Then when Ellard lowered the weapon enough Kohen used the other hand to fling the knife he had at Ellard hitting him in the wrist of the hand he was holding the weapon in. Kohen is a good weapon in his own way but he doesn’t like the idea of being used to kill innocent people just because he’s told to do so. Amazing chapter, I hope to read more soon.

Thank you for the information, I wasn’t aware that it was that bad or that some people are discriminated against just because they might fit some kind of profile. I always appreciate when someone can give me information about a topic that I wasn’t aware of.

It’s a wonderful idea that Lewis came up with to offer tours of the ship before the construction work begins. Although the tours will only be for the afternoon and each person donating a cold coin for a local charity. I’m glad that Lewis talked to the man about scaffolding and he made an offer to buy the scaffolding so that the man could buy a new set. Lewis even offered the four men who helped him get the ship to it’s temporary birthing to conduct the tours and he would pay the skippers $35.00/hour and the crew members $25.00/hour to conduct the tours with him. I think the towns residents will enjoy the tours of the ship, with each group of eight people per tour guide and each group starts at fifteen minute intervals with the tour taking approximately fourty minutes. Lewis even took the time to write up a brief story about the original ship and the replica for the guides to use to help them give a summary to tell the tour groups.
-
This looks like it will be a great story and that’s after one chapter. I think it’s great that David and Bailey are such great friends, it would be great for David to tell Bailey how he feels toward him. Or even let him know that David might be gay, or possibly curious about having another boy do the same thing that David did for Bailey. I think Bailey enjoyed it as well but he’s afraid to say anything about it. I can’t wait to see what happens next for both boys.

It appears that the plans that Lewis and the Wagner Family Corporation made just so the ship could have a permanent place to be. Now it’s up to the Shire Council to vote on and approve so that construction could begin on the improvements to the football oval and the shade park. I’m sad that Lewis is going to be gone for the construction period and the placement of the ship then the work around it. Lewis hopefully will just be gone for only the six months that he was told that he would be needed on Christmas Island. I’m glad that the twins are going to be able to be there for the construction phase of the job, which includes the construction of the area where the ship will be placed and secured to the ground. I hope that the hotel type environment will be successful. Another fantastic chapter as usual. I’m really looking forward to more chapters to the story, because I’m way interested in finding out what happens next for Lewis, Christmas and Kalbarri as well. Lewis might actually be able to see his family while he’s on Christmas Island, I know I would like him to get to know his nephew a lot more, especially since they were together when the Island was raided. Thanks for writing another very good story with some great characters. I love the stories I have read of yours.

It looks like the twins approve of the work Lewis has been doing for the Wagner family company. The only issue that I see is that all of a sudden they have so many officials attending the meeting about the ship. Now Lewis is getting rooked into another job as administrator of the Chagos Archipelago only this time he’s going to be back on Christmas Island, he told the Governor of Western Australia that he was in the middle of a job in Kalbarri and he couldn’t leave at this time, after he was given some other information he reluctantly agreed to take the position and it was with the understanding that he wouldn’t be able to leave for 6 weeks or the end of next month. This was agreed upon with the Governor saying for Lewis to come see him before he leaves.
-
I’m glad that Lewis being who he is went right to work to find a place for the ship since he was informed that the state government doesn’t want it permanently in it’s current location. Lewis has made a few purchases of land where the ship could be placed only he kept having an issue with power lines and the cost of taking them down while the ship was taken through the area. The only issue with that idea is that the residents are going to be without power as well, that could potentially be an issue with the residents and they might not be interested in having the ship as a tourist attraction. I hope that Lewis gets all the information he needs before the meeting with the people who live in Kalbarri, because it’s going to take a miracle for him to get his way on where to put the ship. Another fantastic chapter in the ongoing story of Lewis Shaw, and his adventures. I wish them all lots of luck with the ship and the plans for it. I can’t wait to see what he gets done for the ship.

Chapter 103 The Painful Truth
Butcher56 commented on Dodger's story chapter in Chapter 103 The Painful Truth
I agree Robbie had a terrible chapter in which his mouth overwhelmed his head and he yelled and cussed at Sue. Robbie got grounded for that then he went and hit Alex right in the collarbone he had already had broken and was beginning to heal. Sue grounded Robbie for the whole week because of his mouth and his actions. On Wednesday she lifted her grounding saying it might’ve been a bit excessive. So Robbie goes to meet Nathan at Tim Horton’s after which they go for a walk and then Robbie confronted Nathan about his dislike of Alex and Nathan tells him Alex put a note in his locker propositioning him to meet him at his house so that they could have fun exploring each other’s bodies. As usual Robbie yelled at Nathan about what happened between Nathan and Alex. I hope that Robbie gets his head screwed on before he gets in trouble, and as far as Nathan or Alex are right for him being their boyfriend. Robbie needs to get some help with his anger before it gets any worse and then he’ll end up going to a juvenile physician or a psychiatrist who can help him heal from everything he’s been doing since Alex came to stay with Robbie and his. I don’t know what it’ll be like if Robbie had to deal with anything Nathan has. Robbie needs to tell Nathan the truth about what went on between him and Alex even after he was going with Nathan. Robbie has two problems that I can see his anger and his lying, if he’s going to have a real relationship with Nathan he has to get rid of these two problems. I think if he does that he’ll be a better person to everyone. -
I’m glad to see that Lewis has accepted the job with the twins to be the manager of the floating hotel. It didn’t take them long to hit the ground running as the saying goes, in the short amount of time they’ve been in Kalbarri they have accomplished quite a bit of work that they would need to get done in order to make the transition easier. After meeting with the security firm and the meeting with the construction company they were both hired to do the work. The construction company was hired by Lewis and the twins in order to stabilize the ship to keep it up right, the security company was hired to keep anyone not authorized to be aboard the ship off of it. Lewis asked the manager of the security company if it would be possible for him to get a ride to Geraldton as he had business to get done there, the manager agreed and Lewis went in and informed the twins that he was going with the security manager so they wouldn’t have to make any other stops on the way to Perth. Once Lewis got settled and had dinner he found out that there was a auto dealership right across the road, he went over there expecting to have to wait until morning before making his purchase. To Lewis’s surprise there was a salesman still there and he informed Paul the salesman that he had made his selection. This was a great chapter as usual, continuing with the story. It just gets better with each chapter, Lewis has gone from being a Lt Commander in the Australian Navy to being on medical leave, to taking his nephew on holiday with him to Christmas Island where after a cyclone came near the island it was raided by hostile forces to being Bosun on a yacht to being an administrator of a new program for the Australian government, to being a deckhand on a yacht and then getting a promotion to Bosun of that yacht to being wanted for not informing the Australian government of his plans to travel outside the Australian territories. Anyway it’s a very very good story and I can’t wait for more of the story.
-
Wow it looks like Lewis might be going back to Australia to help the twins out and help get the floating hotel all set up and running smoothly. I’m wondering what Sebastian is going to say about the twins doing the job and possibly having Lewis go with them to help them out. I’m sure that Lewis might have some pull with the Australian government in order to help the twins get their venture going. I’m also wondering if Lewis could go back to the Huon to continue with the job he applied for. Great chapter as usual, glad to see the warrant was removed and that Lewis’s security clearance was removed as well. Could all of the business with the warrant be someone’s way of keeping track of Lewis in case they wanted him for another job. I’m going to be waiting for the next chapter.
