That's good news and i'm glad you feeling better. The fridge.. well. Sorry about the flood but now you can shop for a new fridge. you know you wanted to!!
There is no such thing as perfect happiness .. perhaps a place where you are or have been happy but even there you'll never be happy constantly. Just does not happen... to me, happiness is found along the road. The only destination we truly have in life is death.. the rest is islands of happiness, peace, love and joy we find as we move on.
That's my thinking ... but we all have our own hopes, desires and beliefs.
i'm sure you're right. Do you have to fight it? Can everyone? Mental illness can't necessarily be fought off. It is not just 'having a bad day'. i do battle my own mental illness, with meds and therapy and a good psychiatrist but there is no easy answer.
We need to stop being afraid of it. We also need to stop thinking that people who genuinely suffer are weak, lazy or just want attention because that is far from the truth or reality.
But there are things that help and what each sufferer needs depends on the scope of their own issue. There's no cure. There's acceptance, understanding and consideration. There's no vaccine for this and we each need to find our way.
Thanks for your comments. They are appreciated.
Today I awoke happy; life was good
but experience teaches it doesn’t last
Not even for a single day
It is always there waiting for me
Self-loathing, doubt and most especially the past
I know what I am
and I should learn my place
go back to where I was safe
from the ghosts that haunt and hurt me
life out here is too hard to face
Wonderful. Craig is seeing what life with James can offer but he's also still devoted to his work. Hopefully, he'll soon start to see what he and his own skills have to offer in the grand scheme of things. Perhaps he will begin to see a life without that particular job.
This chapter is made me smile.
And yes, you could have Craig just jump ship and move in with James. However, you don't write that way.
Change is not an easy thing for some of us it takes years of trial and trying.
I am enjoying this slow and sensitive story.
Glad Craig took a chance on himself and went to see James. It's easy to convince ourselves as we get older we are not good enough, fit enough or interesting enough for love.
