Interesting development--and a great plot twist The settlers are growing and prospering and the leaders sought out and received new guidance from Mithras. She was pleased and said a second settlement with Gnos nearby should be built where she told them. However , Mithras warned them of a great dangers., A space ship is arriving soon and is seeking something special which is not known to Mithras. If the new people find it first, they are to be warned to not touch it without the original settlers being present. Who are the new ones? They seem to speak the same language as the settlers? Earth was falling apart and only these old settlers remain of the only attempt to leave . Did others leave also? Or are they from another planet? What is being sought and why is it so important? Could it pose a threat--like a nuclear reactor?

Somehow I thought Northman was jealous and upset with the opportunities and connections CJ had. He maybe a fine bureaucrat in his present role. But, CJ will still be a strong outgoing star on a path for better things with other responsibilities and options. Is a personality conflict inevitable?

What an idyllic experience--good food, good friends, good experiences in the city of lights and romance. They have many reasons to return. Armand was very kind to give his hostess and friend, Madame Lavigne, a painting and still kept his famous name silent. It should be worth a lot right now and more in the future.

Now, the important mission of bringing the two groups into a workable treaty can begin with Ases , the new ambassador and Essell's old friend, on board. Essell ponders---"..... I knew he’d have orders above and beyond being an ambassador and bringing a treaty to get it signed by the Kardoval. Learning about Garjah’s people might also seem like a diplomatic mission, but if my mother got her claws into him, she’d treat this like one of her friend or foe first contact scenarios too. I wanted to try and figure out just what Ases had been up to, and how much of his disregard for the rules and hatred of form over the function of government held up to working in it. He wouldn’t have been the first youthful rebel determined to change how things were done to be be seduced into accepting how things were or convinced to lose their ideals altogether. I can see Essell spending time with Ases to better understand his motives and objectives and bring him into his and Garjah's way of thinking, if he can. Essell will need to get the evidence to help Garjah and Bouncer improve or not their opinion of Ases. Will Ases bring information on what has happened to Captain Sonez? The last incident with Sonez had to be shaking up the earth establishment. Do the powers that be consider Essell acted rightly or wrongly ? Will the fight be influencing Ases? Will Ases speak of any advice given by others on earth? Garjah's world has technology more advanced that other worlds. Will Ases have a military spy mission to collect information, copy technology and assess strengths and weaknesses, too?

I loved this chapter. Armand and all were so congenial and helpful over great works of art. As he said it, only in Paris could this happen. The food was simple and pleasant and the conversations flowed easily with no conflict. What a heavenly day! Like others, I am hoping the private collection tour the next day will be eye opening. Maybe, the collector will value Armand enough and want a painting from him?

I liked how they all gathered and toured the museum and Armand acted like good, informed artist and educator. Everyone seemed to get along. Madam Lavigne will have some wonderful memories Collin and Armand are having a very enjoyable, fun honeymoon and lots of good sex.

Nic is clearly gay and has other partners , but is only having sex with Jake now. I think he was traumatized some years ago ( raped?) and has set limits on his positions and being touched above the waist. These limits and his emotional problems have to be due to his past scary and painful unwanted sexual actions with a male. There is a potential for both Jake and Nic to at least partial heal each other by being open to learning from each other beyond enjoying sex. There is also a possibility of a train wreck for Jake especially if their sexual actions become widely known. For now, the sex is good and getting better. Why mess it up with becoming friends and more ? Can they stop growing closer? Will an other scandal happen ? I do not know.

Thery really took advantage of the Louve and were very helpful to some students. Armand was a painter from early on and shared his works with others generously. The four parts I see in this chapter cover the gamut of emotions. Vincent and Mason are so happy and in love and agreed to be married at a pack meeting. Alpha Scott completed his evaluation/removals and began needed leadership changes of the on the way to be renewed, more satisfied nearby pack, Dirk is working his way into the police department and is seriously puzzled by who killed Shaw. Finally, hate and motives for more murder were told that will rock the town's shifter world. One of the humans in the police department has a very dark side that he hides well. He killed Detective Shaw and hates shifters . He has told hunters that this town is full of shifters and wants the hunters to kill them. He seems normal, but is actually a telepath. He can read other minds and hide his feelings from other law enforcement individuals. He wants hunters to show up and kill the three alphas and other shifters. So far, his identity has not been revealed. I wonder who he is? We know he is part of the group still to be interviewed with the names starting with F, P and R. He feels he has done his job killing Shaw and finding out about the shifters and plans on leaving town in a while to get away from the "monsters." You really gave us reasons to be pleased and then very worried. Any hunters trying to take on the Owensville shifters might well be surprised to find the presence of beings with powerful magic to stop them. Mason and Vincent and other shifters are unaware of the threat they are facing.

Both Nic and Jake have complicated, painful lives and are tormented by others with no total solution in sight. They keep having sex at school and liking it. Jake wanted better sex with Nic only. If you want to see true evil displayed, visit the Holocaust Museum in DC. It is chilling. I also visited the Dachau concentration camp which is carefully peserved and all the horrors are easily seen The German government carefully arranged photos of camp life. .Dachau itself is a bustling suburb of Munich and can be reached by its subway. The contrast between the camp right next to the city could not be more arresting

An engaging and thoughtful first day in the city: great art, canals, boats and tears from a poignant museum. Europe can bring out so many emotions and Collins showed especially he is sentimental and caring. I am glad they are getting married tomorrow. They are wisely pacing themselves after a long plane flight. Armand is a wise tour guide that will help them both maximize their options and enjoyment.

I love the back and forth and self-doubts and misunderstood or unaccepted feelings being expressed by Maddox and Jonathan. They are so in lust with each other but won't believe it. You ended with them agreeing to a real date,. Jonathan will cook a great meal at Maddox's place and his roommates will not be home. They will end up with Maddox fucking Jonathan and both will think this is a divide. Jonathan thinks he could move on to find a real boyfriend who will be a long-term lover. Maddox will find out if he will love him and leave him once he has conquered Jonathan. Both are mistaken so it would seem. They do care for each other and might find this out , if they can ease their self-doubts. The seduction Saturday could go a long way to letting each other know more about their partner. I bet Maddox is a considerate , insightful, skilled user of his body and knows how to read and pleasure another body/partner. He might even be a guy who wants to create his and his partner's orgasms and is not selfish. He might amaze Jonathan and help ihim want to have more love making--not fucking-with Maddox. He keeps asking if Maddox is fucking Jonathan so he can be viewed as gay. I am expecting your next chapter will be amazing.

This chapter devolved delightfully with everyone being in character and the main questions about reasons/motivations and the actual trip were answered. I am very glad that there were no fireworks or explosions and deaths. The spy was going to leave at some point and had been preparing for it. He had a bad relationship with his ambassador and CJ's treatment and exposing him was the final straw. Cj learned he was considered a guy with great potential, an encouraging visible record and was a target for cultivation and investigation. Even not using Google, CJ had Domogarovs number. Domogarov was a bad acting guy with low tastes and crude ideas about CJ so he could not have succeeded in recruiting him. It seems Domogarov needed CJ to be with him on the stressful plane flight to soothe his nerves and let him talk to a non-spy as he finally went over to the US. He explained his reasons for targeting CJ and why he needed to leave Russia. CJ should have been proud and as Owen said the Russian played to his real weakness: his vanity or pride. The personal side back in DC for CJ was very comforting . He is so well grounded with likable friends. This is not a spy novel. If it were such a novel, Domogarov 's presence might have been discovered and he would be targeted and CJ might be in trouble with Russian intel HQ. Or maybe he would be a double agent who is not defecting but going through the motions to learn about the state of US spy craft before he broke away and returned eventually to Moscow.

Both guys are comfortably planning out their home apartment and getting ideas to renovate the club. Armand is creating more works and is also going to paint a wall at the club which should be very impressive. The village scene has been described by them as touching. The trip to Europe should be so much fun and enlightening for Collin and Armand who might get more ideas for painting. They are getting married which is a huge step and one they must really want. They are very kind to the staff at the club by giving them a summer vacation with pay. In the future they will have to finish the plan for the club and consider menu changes from foods enjoyed on their trip and the cook's trip to Europe and some revised club rules to stop the bad eating habits of some of the girls. BTW, sometimes female eat just small plate portions or appetizers in order to not gain weight. These girls, though, are getting food at no cost to themselves.

Jay has raised playing hard to get to an art form. He won't give an inch. Loren now wants much more. He has Loren and both know it and Loren is smiling, Hooray?
