What a touching, sad and heartbreaking experience since we know the end. The path followed so far by the boys was comforting and revealed their mind states, concerns and desires. Peter was well liked. He and the others shared a physical intimacy that bonded and strengthened them. Ned who is to kill Peter is wracked with guilt and draws even closer to Peter as they make love. Peter's trip is full of pleasure and at the end hope. He is unaware he will be killed. Peter's dream that he will one day reconnect with Ned is mysterious. It gave Peter solace, though. I hope the next chapter explains what happens to all the boys. Is Peter simply killed and left for the Gnos? Is he cut up as an animal since we hear butchery skills mentioned. Will he be sacrificed on an altar? Will Peter feel pain? How can the other boys escape extreme guilt for their part? What do the Gnos and Mithras do? These are only some of the questions I have. I believe this is an extension of the basic story. I think this chapter is very good and well developed the characters and their feelings. We are given plausible, thoughtful reasons for the events so far. I want to read the next chapters.

He is now Arrow, a professional artist, with his first panting sold. He is surprised and very encouraged and now working on more paintings with frames to sell. He has lots more to learn and he should be driven even more powerfully to perfect his craft.

Karl is a total mess with powerful, scary and very confusing dreams. They keep coming and torment him. He wants to know about George but cannot ask truthfully. He seems to have had a severe anxiety attack that laid him low. The older countryman was very kind and took care of Karl and explained that he went through an anxiety attack, and it was not unusual. It looks like Karl will find and try to borrow and use a chess set with someone. I hope he gets a letter from the Hopkins and that letter eases his anxiety.

Chapter 12 - Shots Fired
scrubber6620 commented on Salander's story chapter in Chapter 12 - Shots Fired
You have made me afraid to read the next chapter and see what turned Jake white in fear. Perhaps, I will skip it and move on to the following chapter. I like these two guys and I don't want to see them badly hurt and Meg get her vengeance and screw at least Jake over on some crazy sexual charge. -
OMG-he waited 9 months. Jay is a very controlled guy wo can delay gratification. He did not contact Loren's friends. Jay has his own game with guys and he is playing it. I guess as was said he flipped the tables on Lore. Loren is not in charge. Jay stopped playing Fatal Attraction. Now, we will see if the coffee date happens and what the two guys do. It will be a short date since Jay has to get on a plane for a game. Seattle traffic is horrendous, too. I love the fun and supportive crew surrounding Jay.

Armand is growing and becoming a more talented artist. He has developed his woodworking skills and made a distinctive frame. I like his way signing his works with a special style and almost panache. Now, his painting will face a marketplace test on appeal and monetary value. Since GG thinks he will be a great artist. I expect this first sale will be encouraging and further his career. He could think of how to get further art education beyond his present school, too.

Karl is coming into his own. He is turning into an intuitive, inquisitive, kindhearted and more assertive person. He is losing his fear of others not like himself. It is sweet and charming to see him interact with a French fighter and want to learn his language. Karl cannot speak French, but he seems to read the Frenchmen's moods and feelings. I am surprised he talked to Paul's friend and was not dismayed by his hostility. He seemed to realize he was afraid of what they will face in the war. Karl simply said we all have fears. Karl's natural instincts and basic understanding may well get him through the war. I hope he does return to talk with Paul's friend and maybe they can find common ground playing chess.. For now, I do not have enough information on why Paul and his friend split up. Perhaps, we will learn in upcoming chapters.

Chapter 12 - Shots Fired
scrubber6620 commented on Salander's story chapter in Chapter 12 - Shots Fired
What a great sex scene between Nic and Jake. Jake is learning how to be a better lover. Nic acted cool but he was into their sexual play. Both were very vocal as they were pleasured. Nic had the best sex in a long while and Jake is well hung, Jake keeps on being romantic and Nic won't see that in their relationship. Jake leaves saying they should meet at the same time, same place in a week. The ending cliff hanger was awesome and scary. Jake turned white reading Meg's tweet. He was waiting all day for her to turn on him and explode over their breakup. I can see Meg making one of two charges on her tweet to many explaining why she broke up with Jake: 1, He is an inadequate, inconsiderate failing lover who could not get hard 2, He was really gay and having sex with Nic. She could attach pics or a short sound recording from this day's sex action. She could have followed Jake and stood outside the old classroom while they fucked and got the evidence she needed What can Jake do for damage control? He has to be overwhelmed and needing help. -
Nicely done--conflict, growth, key characters better identified, Aarom made the right decision and got the Queen to revoke Itumak's excessive punishment. Aaron shows he has a good heart and is unskilled in palace politics in palace politics. Captain Darren is a wise advisor while the old king, the dowager, could be a powerful opponent who dislikes werewolves. I hope the surgery goes well and no foul play takes place, and she is killed. Lord Sarin is an unknown. He is a temporary regent now for the Queen. Does he have plans to become king, if she dies in surgery or afterwards? If Sarin becomes King what happens to Aaron and how will werewolves be treated?

Armand is making wonderful progress with his painting. Others are recognizing his abilities. What will result from Armand being helped by a senor student and by selling his paintings in a gallery?

Chapter 3: Beta's Betrayal
scrubber6620 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 3: Beta's Betrayal
This was an insightful, fun to read chapter that revealed the basic dynamics and problems in the pack . The hidden and oppressive tax situation and extra delta enforcer are terrible. Who would buy a chair for $800 ? The taxes have to lower sales all over the territory. Tierney will take no guff and travelling around he found one courageous, scared person who explained part of what is going on with the alpha's domination. The chapter ended with Tierny turning his second courageous person and a very good source over to the EC to exploit. Some heads could roll over the possible corruption Tierney is staying and may have to fight. Stuerm will likely get very mad when he discovers Fenn is missing and send others to intimidate or fight Tierney in order to find out what is happening. If the bribed EC evaluator finds out soon he might inform Stuerm so he can stop Tierny's investigation in any way he wants. Tiereny is uber powerful with fire magic and will likely surprise those who might attack him. -
Chapter 6: Fists and Feelings
scrubber6620 commented on Demiurge's story chapter in Chapter 6: Fists and Feelings
Finn was surprisingly open and showing public displays of affection to Alec in school that wags had to be talking and seeing Finn n a new light. Alec was a mess and so insecure he and River talked. Alec texted Finn to set up a date. It was a great move that should help then become better connected. Their possible relationship was hot news and so pathbreaking to see that the uber popular Finn might be out and gay and involved with a blue hair freak at the bottom of the social scale. Some of Finn's longtime friends reacted with an intervention after school by the lockers to shock him and try to make Finn aware of their concerns about Alec. Their heated exchange devolved in to fighting since they were very upset, shocked hormonal jocks. Finn would not back down and neither would his friends. I am surprised that River and Alec got involved in the fight and Alec took the brave steps that stopped the fighting. But, Finn was injured and upset and canceled their date. Alec is not sure what happened and did not understand why Finn was fighting. He needs to find out that Finn stood up for them being close. Alec wonders what to do---Go see Finn right now or tomorrow morning at home or work? Text him? Their relationship is at a crossroads. They need to get together and clear the air.- 26 comments

What a nice touching letter that took Karl a week to write. He used a quill. How old fashioned and elegant. His helpful personal trainers have enabled him to write a letter in English. I am sure Mrs. Hopkins will love reading it. Karl told her about his life and friend and desire to stay through and help fight the war. He could not discuss George. However, Karl was transfixed by George and really is tormented by his feelings for George. He is pained he can't say what he wants to say about George. I hope someone comes to visit him. George is a cad for not visiting him and helping Karl balance and better understand his life and feelings.

What a good time. What an active, happy, loving extended family who enjoys each other's company. Liebe is always a charmer who takes on adult words. CJ and Owen are a great couple. Owen took longer view at the end after reading a magazine . “Look at the last article. Even more than attending events, that one illustrates what I’m feeling. Who would have thought an Australian farm boy would become an attorney and end up getting mentioned in national magazines.”

Karl is really in pain. He is having trouble studying and he cannot forget George. A kind officer tried to give Karl advice, but Karl is still no better off. Karl thinks about George all the time and believes George is not thinking about him. Right now, I bet the only solution is for George to come visit Karl and speak honestly with him. George could say he was very much in love with Karl, but could not face another lover being killed.

We now have learned of the Gnos-settlers first contact history. We can understand how the settlers learned of the Gnos sacrifice and apparent need to appease Mithra annually. But, we do not know who Mithra is or what actually happens to the boy who is sacrificed. Does his sacrifice make a real difference or its this act a coincidence and does not actually help others?

Captain Sonez for ambassador?
-
Aaron is slowly learning what to do and is now made aware he is to be a bridge between the various races. I am surprised no one told him that was his role. His treatment of Itumak showed he was too harsh and others have noticed. He needs better counseling and to temper his punishments. I hope he speaks kindly to Itumak and learns from his actions. Itumak is a good soul and took special care of a troubled kid. He is taking his punishment seriously and shows no bitterness. it is encouraging that Amber's cancer tumor is shrinking slightly. She has much more treatment ahead. She has to spend more time training Aaron so he can rule wisely

Essell surprised me expecting that the next step would be sending an ambassador. I thought a team like Essell and Garjah would have been useful to send before an ambassador. But then,Essell might know best what is done in other first contact steps. An ambassador is sent to arrange a formal treaty. So, when he or it or she arrives, the nature of Essell's and Garjah's relationship with the Kardoval will be known and then the ambassador will have to decide what to do. Leave or ??? So, we are to soon learn who is projected to be the ambassador. Can Essell and Grajah veto the one nominated? Will that being have positive motivations? Essell said about the one nominated ..."I’m not the best a politics, but I’ve been on a lot of stations and a lot of planets. What I have learned is that motives are hard to see, and what is presented is rarely the whole story.”

Karl took some action to reconnect. He reached out to a most unlikely source. An older military superior officer and father of three. The man was surprised but agreed to write a letter to the Hopkins and then , after they got along , to help Karl learn how to read and write in Danish. Karl found a kind-hearted father figure and the older man found a replacement for his three daughters. I assume he really enjoyed being a father and helping his kids grow up. Karl and his need for basic help had to be appealing to his paternal instincts.

Not what I expected....Luke did not have a plan for romance and except for some hand holding he was acting as a decent respectable male friend to Jackson on a break from the pressures of his family life. They drove and drove only to get away and got generic possibly fortunes told The chapter ended as they were apparently getting ready for a kiss or two and then drive back Luke spoke to Jackson in the empty parking lot. “If you want to kiss me, you need to do it now,” he said as he leaned forward and adjusted the heat. Feeling the instant warmth from the vents I leaned into the seat and looked across the small space between us. He looked expectant with a half smile playing on his lips, but all I felt was a bitter reality that as soon as we parted ways I wouldn’t get what I wanted anymore, at least not for a while." I will wait for the next chapter to reveal what is happening. Will they get passionate, or will these demure kisses be a sign they are far separated in mind and feelings as Jackson feels at the end? Come on Luke, surprise Jackson! You have a hippo for use as a pillow, too.

Karl cannot forget George. He is having trouble understanding people and keeps coming back to trying to understand George beyond his words, I think Karl needs a good-hearted romantic friend who will help him move on and better understand life. Could Jorgen be that special friend?

Chapter 23: New Bonds
scrubber6620 commented on C. Henderson's story chapter in Chapter 23: New Bonds
It did not have to happen this way--The 5 people could have been broken and still full of hate and misgivings and worry. Paul's murder could have been a disaster for their lives. But they worked out new , positive ways of thinking and took responsibility for their actions and reached out to help others. Jack has essentially a life sentence and he is happy atoning for his killing and bad parenting. He is aiding prisoners and getting along with them. He could have been a target for prison murder. Kat finally puts it together and sees shades of gray or will see more and Jack clearly explained how he felt and why he killed his son. 22 years is a severe punishment. He is not getting away with killing a moral degenerate killer. David and Elisabeth magnanimously and wonderfully realized how guilt and hate had ruined them. They rejected hoe they thought in the past. They generously forgave a hurt Andy and he was surprised and uplifted. I can feel he will try very hard to be a normal person and get off drugs and have a longer life. I bet they will continue to help him turn his life around. It is ironic that Andy shares the name of the hoped for child of David and Elisabeth. An Andy will live on now. -
The killer was nearby and sick. Under Jack's and Kat's noses What a tragedy. At least three lives ruined. So many needlessly suffered--- Why did Paul do it-- “Why did you drive into them?” “Why not? Everyone should have some type of suffering in their life. Why should some suffer while others get an easy ride? I was just making things equal. They’re rich, I’m sure they got over it and went on to adopt three African orphans, so really Jack, I did a good deed,” Paul said and started laughing. Jack felt he had to kill his son who was the source of all the pain and who would never be properly punished by the justice system he knew. He is willing to take the proper consequences for killing his son and neglecting Andy. He had to be arrested and atone for his failures with Paul. Now, what happens to Jack and will this shock help David and Andy and Elisabeth recover and move on with better lives? What does this vigilante justice do to Kat?
