I can't even "like" this chapter, not today ... not only because of the senseless violence at the end of the story, just ... I'm sorry ...

Zane's father Stan, is mentally ill; that's the only explanation for his actions that I'd accept ... or else I WILL BE the one that's going to have a breakdown (how could he ?!) ... O M G ... This chapter is white knuckled-ly fast paced ... Thank you Cynus !

It is so sweet of Emmett to have a tiger "hoodie" specially made for Juan. Aww ... How will the story go ? Will Jian's father force him to go home so Emmett has to travel to "the ends of the earth" to win him back ? The story and the plight of Lahja do not cast a good light on the Lord ... in fact he sounds capricious, controlling, egotistic ... etc ... Is this all an elaborate plot to get Kiorl to fall in love with Lahja and recruit him to heaven ?? Not that it sounds like much fun there (I'm so going to hell for writing this) ... LOL I have to go back and re-read about the other cast members, it's been quite some time since I've read them and I don't quite remember all of their stories ... Thank you, Sasha !

Peter is a genius, coming up with the phone idea ! Lisa is a very capable and loving parent, from the snippets of information that Troy and Bradley dish out ... Poor Alan, he has a lot to live up to. I feel so sad for Lisa, to lose her husband and having her children say cruel things to her at the hospital, I'm traumatised, and I can't even begin to understand her pain (both physical and mental) and grief ... Geoff was so wrong when he said Barry and Clarence were harmless ... Is he going to be a bad parent to Erik due to his bad judgment of people and his casual attitude of young people having sex? Right, you can't stop them from experimenting but better advise on protecting themselves. It seems to me that Geoff do care a little about his charges BUT just because a person is of age doesn't automatically mean that they don't need guidance in life (better guidance than that professor seemed to be dishing out ...) Why am I ranting, because you, the author is piling up bad experiences, one after the other on Jerry, and the world doesn't seem to care ... (yelling obscenities to someone in particular, but I'm not telling who ...)

Before Chapter 14, I didn't have an urgent need to post a review, but after reading this, I've quickly come to this page and read all the reviews. I think that you've written such a sweet coming of age / coming out story so far, and we, as readers have been so enamoured of Nick and Dave, that this act of violence / violation (albeit referred to in an oblique manner) has shocked and sickened us ... They're only sixteen ... (weeping silently) ... Hence all these strong emotional responses. Okay, for Craig, skillet treatment for his head and balls (banging repeatedly on them) or castration with a dull knife should be the minimum punishment ... (Silently screaming with frustration) I'll carry on reading the rest of the story ...

The scenario as suggested by mogwhy seems to be a most viable option. I too love mushy endings (happy people all around). Your research and attention to detail are both phenomenal ! From the Chinese foods to the Chinese names and written characters (speaking from first hand experience and mother tongue knowledge) to the Canadian landscape, camping equipment and heating pads (only thing I know with certainty for the latter 3 items); all of these spot on ! Are you sure you're not ethnic Chinese and are you really living in Sussex, in the UK ? Thank you for another chapter, I'm going to read the next one now ... since it's been just uploaded ...

Just from reading your story note, I literally cringed "... if you think some of the things the boys do are too far fetched, then they'll be the events that actually happened ..." Talk about putting a damper on one's dreams, i.e. becoming a parent / having children ... I know it's a daunting task, just not really how much ...
