I think (hope) that once Boone grows a pair and decides to move on, Coy will wake up and realize he really does have feelings for, and cares for, his longtime friend/buddy/caretaker/etc, and go with him to a new and fulfilling life!! The punch after their kiss was probably an instinctual automatic reaction fueled by his evil brother's and religious mother's influence!! The trick will be convincing Boone he is sincere!! Love the story G!!! 😉

Well it's a very good beginning. Can't say I'm a big fan of westerns (although as a young boy I did lust after "little" Joe Cartwright) but I am a BIG fan of your writings so - I'll be coming along for the ride! Boone is definitely the protector here BUT Coy really needs to sober up and be completely truthful about his intentions. I take it the timeline here is the mid 1800's sometime after the "Gold Rush" ! Thanks for the new story. David

It's obvious Rick has tried to bury the past experience with the rich shithead but, it still remains in the back of his mind. It was rudely brought back to the present with his trip out to Cedarcrest. Perhaps Rita will become a confidant and help heal his emotional wounds!! I know - I know, my husband reminds me all the time, I'm a hopeless romantic!!

To say this was a powerful chapter is an understatement! It was riveting and I'm still reeling from the devastating life-changing damage Will Kohler inflicted on Rick! It is no wonder he did not want to step foot again on Cedarcrest! I wonder if the spoiled rich kid has remained aloof and smug and still feeling entitled!!! If so - I would like to introduce him to a friend of mine named Bubba!! Great chapter Parker! Heart wrenching but very well written!

VERY WELL SAID tesao!! Hunter IS amazing and we've only seen half of the maelstrom he lives in - dear old Dad, the sperm donor, doesn't seem much better!! Thank goodness for the Vega's and I can't wait for the scene between the two mothers!!! Great chapter/story Geoff. Thank you, David!

Yes, I will reiterate - a very full and well balanced chapter!! Just wonderful!! Unbeknown to Jeff, perhaps it was Claire's influence that made him take his walk earlier than usual that eventful day he met and rescued Toby!!

Another great loving chapter. I also agree while Jeff has given Toby a new lease on life, Toby has re-awakened Jeff's existence as well! The party for all the classmates should be interesting and hopefully fun for all!

I believe the old adage comes into to play here = "with age usually comes wisdom"! Not always - but frequently!! Regardless, I believe the love between the boys will only grow stronger because of the circumstances of Toby's new life!! Ron seems very protective - and that's a wonderful quality!! Great beginning to a story with a very sensitive subject matter. I too have experienced a friend ending it all and the feelings we (family and friends) are left with and evaluate - perhaps - what we SHOULD have done!! At best it is a slippery slope with no real answers! I'm very happy Toby was rescued!!! It seems Granddad was aware of the potential fall-out and made contingency plans for him!! I'm sure Dad will NOT be a happy camper!!

Well I'm totally baffled but - I guess that is what you want Laura!! Levine and Renzo definitely have a connections probably not legit!! And what was the "sensation" Toby experienced? Did he recall his death and the perpetrator?? Great suspense!!

It is a great story and so very well written. My emotions are also all over the place - and that is because your writing makes it easy for readers to become part of the scenarios you paint! I especially like little Sam. I believe he has adopted two new dads!!! Thank you!!

Well it's my opinion that Colt was madly in love with Sam which included some early consensual sexual experimentation. Sam's subsequent outright rejection and outing of Colt was completely devastating to him and it took several years ( and relationships) to finally let go!! Coming home just brought the feelings back to a boiling point that was long overdo!! Sam, being rather flippant and dismissive about it, was certainly not the best avenue of approach!!
