You know, I think I've seen that story a few times on Nifty... As an important note... Gay Authors is more snooty than this level of story writing. Though if you are experimenting on writing sex scenes and want a ready audience for it, Nifty has that in abundance. You will otherwise cause angst in the staff here if you are just posting sex. Great advice Comsie! There are so many tools in the writing arsenal, understanding them and using them can only make your writing better.

All public speakers have some level of rhetorical legerdemain they employ, and they all get annoying when overexposed. As for items ending in 'ly,' a rather interesting book I read on the topic of Showing, not Telling, "-ly" is the easiest thing to search for to find times when you are telling. "He walked happily through the field" vs. "He skipped through the field with a grin." The first one I told you he was happy, the second one I showed you through his actions and description that he was happy. That was another thought-provoking article @Comicality Thanks! This ties in heavily with showing and not telling.

I stumbled back across this song last night. It still blows my mind that a heavy metal band did a cover of a Simon and Garfunkel classic. And did such an outstanding job. And damn if the message behind the song still doesn't ring true today... no one is listening to each other. Disturbed - The Sound of Silence. Damn, does David Draiman have a set of pipes.

I'm trying. I'm in a totally different place in life then when I was writing this. I do want to finish it and I need to finish it. But with working from home, I'm stuck at my home desk for 45 hours a week and I don't want to spend any more time at it to write. To say nothing of the time I spend supporting the site.
