This is Part 2 of A Bad Way to Wake Up WET.

I've not really been a big fighting game fan outside a brief time in my youth playing Streetfighter II. Though the concept is cool enough.

Yes, true diversity. Especially of thought so we don't groupthink our species into extinction. A couple things on this... I minored in history while I was getting my engineering degree. (That means I took extra liberal arts courses that weren't strictly required). It so happens that one branch of my family came from Ireland and the discrimination against the Irish in the timeframe of 1900 or so was brutal. https://www.reference.com/world-view/were-irish-immigrants-discriminated-against-54949cc735838a3a The immigration tune has been the same for a very long time, with just who is singing changing around. Please don't confuse today's state of descrimination for what might exist in the future. All it would take is a couple generations to be raised properly for it to disappear. And this story takes place in the future. I have purposely not set a date, but you can figure at least one hundred years or at least 5 generations cycling through. I am optomistic that by the time this story rolls around any discrimination will be based entirely on the content of your character. If you are sneaking theif, people will treat you as one, for example. The only way to get to the better future is to live as if it were here and lead others by example. So far this year, I've done two big volunteer events through work(on my own time) to help recruit women into engineering and disadvantaged inner city youths. So, I'm not just writing with rose color glasses on. I'm doing what I can to help out in other ways. I have always and will always believe that everyone should work for what they get. If you want to go the religion approach, I believe that it is better to teach a man to fish so that he can fish for a lifetime, versus being handed one. The government should guarantee that everyone has an equal opportunity in life. Based on the state of public education, they are failing horribly at that. If the government can't get that right, why should we trust them to get anything right? And Carlos, I wrote this one for you. My remaining 2-part story next week is back to being more subtle.

I"m glad you liked it! I always find it interesting what people pick up on and comment on. @Cia was highly amused by one of my underlying themes that I hadn't intended to convey. lol. The next two stories are semi-related as they involve The Discover, mentioned at the end of this story. Reading the two stories next week will give some insight into that, but leave plenty of room for those novels I need to write. Glad you liked it.

It wouldn’t be fair to say Scott hated his current assignment, though it wouldn’t be unfair to say it either. Terran Confederation Fleet Command required all officers to serve at least one term at the Terran Confederation University for Planetary Sciences. T-CUPS. There was a special place in hell reserved for the person who came up with that. Scott did not put up too much of a fuss about the assignment because it meant he could stay with his husband while he completed his final seme

Scott Masterson has one more task before he takes command of the brand new TCS Discovery exploration vessel.

Yeah, it definitely is a hard balance to strike. I tend to skimp on details and have my editor @Ciatelling me I need to add more. Or explain something. I can probably get away with "it's magic" more than people writing outside of fantasy though

Great visuals with your description. Timely and helpful just when I was dealing with an arc issue! Thanks, @Comicality!

Reason for edit box is controlled by the forum software, not us. From a software standpoint "Comment" and "Post" though visibly similar, are not handled the same way by the software. That's not in our control.

I've lost contact with dkstories since his husband @Trebs died. As far as I know, part 3 was not complete. I do have a few chapters of it, that will get posted with plenty of warnings.

LOL. Those are some great examples on the remix trailers. My aunt has always maintained that the original The Exorcist should be viewed as a comedy for maximum enjoyment. Great article on showing how much tone can swing meaning.

Start a new topic and include a link to the old one in the first post. Unfortunately, we have 1 setting for archiving. 7 days covers the need to get the chat topics archived quickly but it is aggressive for other stuff. No. The easiest way to explain it, and it's not that accurate, is to say old topics cause fragmentation of data when they are lingering and getting posted to.

Great article Comsie. It is sometimes difficult to balance banter and moving the story along. An issue I'm dealing with editing right this moment. lol.

Notifications alert you to activities on the site. You can control them by going to the menu on the upper right of the page: https://www.gayauthors.org/notifications/options/ As a general rule, when you follow content, you get notifications of that content (unless you choose otherwise). Notifications follow the container rule: If I follow a topic, I get notifications to new posts in that topic. If I follow a blog, I get notifications to new posts in that blog. If I follow a blog post, I get notifications to new comments on the blog post. If I follow a story, I get notifications to new chapters (and chapter comments, if you set it that way) If I follow an Author, I get notifications to new stories and chapters.

probably a temporary hiccup somewhere in the pipeline. there have been no alerts at the server level of any issue.

Thanks, @Comicality for another great article! Conflict, in all of its forms, is a lot of what drives a story. Man Vs Nature, as in fighting for survival, is one of those conflicts that are popular, but not human vs human.

Thanks, @Comicality! Another helpful article to provoke us into thinking about how we handle story mechanics

When you come across this issue, just hit the X button on the story to remove it from the series and then re-add it. (also check to make sure I added the right one...) Did you create a World, since this is a case that would fit? You have short stories and a series in the same world...

Can you repeat that? It sounded like you said you found another bug... I'll use this to squash the... bug. -

Oh my. This has to be the best looking game on the system. The Forza games have worked very well for me as a game I can drop into to unwind. I can do a race or 3 and then go off back to whatever task is eating my attention. I'm very happy with Forza Horizon 4 on my Xbox One X. This is a play anywhere game, so it's on the PC as well, though you'll need some serious gear on the PC to make this rock.
