I think the human equivalent is like a “come to Jesus” moment where they are made to see the error of their ways (probably by any means necessary, i.e. a verbal or physical ass kicking), lol.

This chapter put a lot of meat on the bones of their plan to defeat Huntington. Speaking of meat…. “Currently, there was an unofficial stand-off between Mama and Sandi. Each woman tried to one-up the other in the cooking department. It was good-natured, or at least Tyler thought so.” With so much going on, I guess the guys could be excused for neglecting to tell their family about Elijah’s shapeshifter ability-to anyone but Mama Williamson, lol: “Mama cuffed him and Elijah on the back of their heads. Austin and Ashton’s reactions were instantaneous. Their wolves growled at the threat to their mates. “Don’t you growl at me!” Mama reprimanded. The twins immediately backed down, eyes wide, ears pinned back in surprise. Tyler saw Papi and Declan trying not to laugh, turning their heads to avoid getting caught. He suspected the rest of their table was in a similar state.” The “mother’s tone” is universal and any mother’s child everywhere knows to “bare their neck” when it is spoken, lol. What followed after her acceptance of Elijah’s skill was a true example of mother’s intuition: “It was you!" She poked Elijah on the shoulder. "You pretended to be Tyler the summer you were sixteen and supposedly went to visit your mother’s cousin for a long weekend.” Mother’s intuition=the greatest bullshit meter in the world, lol. “There was a hardness in her eyes that he recognized. The same hardness he saw reflected in Ashton’s eyes when his brother was caught in a memory. It was the same hardness he knew his own eyes gave off when he dwelled on the past. Some things were meant to break you. When they didn’t, remnants remained to remind you of what you went through. “ Strength borne of adversity is the strongest there is….this passage moved me the most in the whole chapter. It reminded me about what people say about scars: "Never be ashamed of a scar. It simply means you were stronger than whatever tried to hurt you." It’ll be interesting to see who blinks first in this cat and mouse game between Sebastian & Co. versus Huntington-animals (and people) are most dangerous when cornered.

Lol!! I was surprised by their easy acceptance of the situation too, but it’s already been established how close knit the family is, with Kaya (as well as Tyler and Elijah) involved in potential danger, I think the safer choice was to get the herd out of the “line of fire”, (when in actuality being with the Montana pack might bring them directly into it 🤔) I think our Mega Alpha may also have had something to do with it….Sebastian seems to be one of those people who command instant acquiescence, like listen first and ask questions later, lol. Guess it’s par for the course with his position.

Being the bad pussy he is, Huntington also had no way of knowing if the shifter revelation would have been well received by the Williamson’s-I think he hoped for a lot of upset & upheaval for distraction and diversion.

It’s about to be on and poppin’!! To be a fly on the wall of the plane to watch the Williamson’s reactions when the mate convo went down. (fly on the wall gifs & memes are yucky, lol) Alpha traits aren’t sex specific, we now have three strong willed women in the pack- (Sandi, Becca & Mama Williamson) I wonder how the energy of each will work around each other-will there be natural deferment or boundary issues? Next stop: Ass Kickingville.

“All things considered, not bad. Austin and Ashton chose to sleep with us, separately, of course,” Tyler admitted. “Whoa! That could have been dangerous,” Zev declared, giving him a concerned look. “How?” “Your mates haven’t been in full control of their wolves in a long time. You have no idea how strong the mate pull can be. If their wolves decided to push themselves forward, well, they could force the mating claim. You could have been hurt.” THANK YOU, ZEV. That was my concern all along. While I am no shifter aficionado, the few shifter stories I’ve read have always spoken to how strong the animal is within, particularly wolves, particularly with a mate connection; Ashton and Austin are not fully in control of their wolves, they were actually in situations where their wolves were more welcome than their human sides….Tyler and Elijah both could’ve been chop suey if the mate pull was too strong; and that would’ve been the end of all four of them, as Ashton and Austin would not have survived or gone mad over killing their mates. Fuck you, Kasar Huntington….fuck you with a thick, splintery branch of wood that has poison ivy on it. I’m not surprised that mangy he-bitch was watching Tyler’s family, smh…. Your (frankly overdue, lol) cliffy poses a question (or two): why would Kasar want the twins back now when Corbin had them for last couple of years and they were “out of rotation”? How would he know that they are with Sebastian’s pack? Is there another traitor in their midst?

The bittersweet synchronicity of Coldplay being Lars’ & Loren’s first concert made the performance even more meaningful. 😢

You could not have wrapped this story up in a bigger, better bow….to show the contrast and triumph over Loren and his biological progenitors, I’m still looking up “death by mob harassment”….I can only surmise that they killed themselves under the negative pressure of public opinion(?) If so, it’s an interesting C.O.D…..they had no problem living in the swill of their deeds in the shadows. Hoisted by their own petard….it works for me. Thank you for this last glimpse into their world for the foreseeable future, it is incredibly satisfying.

I know maple, holly & spruce have very pleasant scents, I like the name agathis, lol. The woodsy fragrance will have to be something to blend well or complement a sweet scent.
